Bloomfield Track 4x4 Road Trip | Cape Tribulation to Cooktown | North Queensland

- Welcome this this weeks addition on the Bloomfield Track for a 4x4 road trip through the Daintree National Park. This goes from Cape Tribulation to Cooktown on the coastal route - instead of the longer way and double backing to Port Douglas.
While this is a 4 wheel drive track, there are plenty of places to check out along the way and I have featured them today, Along with showing you the track conditions and giving you the information in order to complete yourself.

Starting to like the 4WD trips, as longs as their not that intense...LOL. This one was certainly an adventure in the north Queensland area.

Thanks for watching guys...it actually wasn't that difficult and definitely picked a good time of year to do it.
I'm sure some people have issues at other times. The bikes were certainly having fun, there seemed to be about 40 of them...lol.

This drive looks beautiful, but you sure are right about checking the weather before embarking on this adventure.
The waterfall at the end was so big 🤩 do you have to worry about Crocs making their way up on the rocks?
It was a beautiful drive indeed and make me want to explore more 4WD tracks, I just don't need to intense ones...LOL.
Yes, I'm sure they would jump up on the rocks if they were desperate, but staying away from the edge of the water is pretty good. They have the element of surprise and need you close to grab you, jumping up on rocks will take longer. The running water will also move them close into the waterhole more than near the falls too.

Thanks for the croc tips, it would be pretty scary to see a croc jump up on the rocks 😱

Is Pajero a good 4X4? Planning to buy a small size 4X4 vehicle. Can you suggest some good ones please
That's probably a question more for Matt...but the Pajero has been a great vehicle for what we want to do. It's all set up for solar, fridge and perfect for 4x4 weekends away.
I suppose it depends on what you want to use it for? Not sure I would be doing really intense tracks in our Pajero but anything smaller wouldn't tackle the things we have done.

The track is probably impassable now due to the effects of Cyclone Jasper.
Yep.... with the damage on the major roads is anything to go by, you would think it would be closed. But this track isn't the best in the summer anyway
Track was closed on 27 April 2024. Parts of the road severely damaged due to Cyclone Jasper.
Wow...still after this long. I bet it's hurting for local supplies to the communities there
