- George Michael (born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou; 25 June 1963 - 25 December 2016) was an English singer, songwriter and record producer. He is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the MTV generation.Michael is known as a leading creative force in music production, songwriting, vocal performance and visual presentation.
Born in East Finchley, North London, Michael rose to fame as a member of the music duo Wham! and later embarked on a solo career. Forming the duo Wham! with Andrew Ridgeley in 1981, the band's first two albums, Fantastic (1983) and Make It Big (1984), reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200. Their hit singles included "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" and "Last Christmas". Establishing themselves as a global act, Wham! toured China in April 1985; the tour was the first visit to China by a Western popular music act, and it generated worldwide media coverage.
Michael is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with sales of over 120 million records worldwide. He achieved seven number-one songs on the UK Singles Chart and eight number-one songs on the US Billboard Hot 100. Michael won various music awards, including two Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, three American Music Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, and six Ivor Novello Awards. In 2015, he was ranked 45th in Billboard's list of the "Greatest Hot 100 Artists of All Time". The Radio Academy named him the most played artist on British radio during the period 1984-2004.
In the early hours of 25 December 2016, Michael died in bed at his home in Goring-on-Thames, at the age of 53. He was found by his partner, Fadi Fawaz. In March 2017, a senior coroner in Oxfordshire attributed Michael's death to dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and a fatty liver

Tragic to think of the song “last Christmas “, and then for him to pass away actually ON Christmas Day……He had such great charisma and a fantastic voice. It’s not commonly known how much he discretely contributed to different causes and charities over the years too. Godbless you George…can imagine you singing with the Angels! 🙏💐💕

Wow, what can I say about George Michael? WOW he was amazing, great talented, I LOVED him, his music, I was so sad when he died.....he has some of my favorite songs, wake me up before you go go..... thank you thank you for showing us....

Their lives are filled with symbolism: his mother Lesley was born on Christmas Eve and died age 59, his sister Melanie passed away also at age 59 on Christmas Day just 3 years after his own passing on Christmas too age 53.
Sad they died so young

Grew up with his music from Wham on, so brings nothing but great memories for me. It’s a shame he passed on may have had more to offer the world. Thanks for the extra footage, was nice added clips. So funny I remember one time singing along with “I want your sex” video and my mom about fainted lol…times a changing 😂

I noticed that both George Michael and his sister, Melania both died on Christmas day in 2016 and 2019.

I didn't realise you visited England. My wife's grandfather is buried is buried at the same cemetery as George. A couple of graves away from Karl Marx according to the mother in law. We do intend to visit one day.

Did you get a chance to go to the catercombs some of the old coffins there are nuts. So many famous people are there. Even if you took a day you would not see them all. Amy Winehouse is there as well

I Didn't Know His Sister Died on His 3 Year Anniversary to the Day. I Hope His other Sister Had her Heart Checked. Since his Heart Defect Ran in the Family.

@@GraveVisitations I Read That She Died of ketoacidosis. Which is a Side step of diabetes. The Only Part That's Confusing. They Didn't Say, if She Knew She was a Diabetic or She Went into the diabetic ketoacidosis coma, bc she didn't take her insulin? My Friend Theresa, Ended up in the Hospital About 20 Yrs ago. She called & told me just a few things, that she was going Through. She Said, You'll Never Guess, What's Going On With Me? I Said, diabetic ketoacidosis. Though, She Didn't go into a Coma & Never Had Diabetes. I Think She Stopped Asking me Questions like That, When Her oldest son, was Having Knee Problems, she Said, You'll Never Guess, What He Has? I Said, Osgood Schlatter. Blew Her Mind.
