The person he understood best who also understood him best was his one and only Geto, but even they started drifting apart when Gojo became The Strongest instead of them two together being The Strongest. Now compare him even later in his prime trying to connect with teenagers who mostly aren't even Grade 1, they live in completely different worlds.

Gojo is a layered and complex character, not everybody can get him. For me, the answer is that Gojo knew he could lose. What he needed was the time for his students. He was ready, while they weren't. They still needed to plan with him in the picture now. Also, I believe Gege just wanted to make Nanami be in character when he called Gojo selfish. Not that Gojo has always been selfish, even when his only goal was to make his students surpass him. Although this is based on my perception of the character.
Id say there was the small part of also trying to figure out how to save megumis body, since at the time they had no chance of figuring out any way of doing that

I really like this because it shows both sides’ egos to their max. Sukuna being so cocky he thinks he could easily kill all of them even with a month of training, Kenjaku thinking his plan will work perfectly as long as Gojo is out of the mix, and Gojo thinking that all he needs is to give everyone 1 month to match Sukuna. All their egos benefit from waiting

The SIMPLEST explanation is -Gojo being just unsealed, it's hard to say where his power was at, now was he fully refreshed to the point where he could fight then and there, who knows? But another point is that fighting him then and there without a plan, and without Gojo knowing the whole scenario is not a great plan, imagine you've been sealed in a box for 19 days, and when you come out you need to die right away. This way they had 3 days time to think of a plan-my only regret is that we instantly skipped to that fight without even getting anything in between that time frane
Fr this is like a main theme of gojo. His selfishness was part of why he had the confidence for committing, from the beginning, to the risky plan of feeding yuji more fingers just so more could be eliminated when he kills sukuna. This, contrasted with yuji's selflessness allowing him to go along with it, as well as to put himself in mortal danger vs choso, is what allows every tragedy from shibuya onward to be set into motion. I think theyre foils in order to demonstrate how being too selfish and being too selfless can both be catastrophic personal flaws.
Kenjaku just stands absolutely no chance against Gojo especially not with a repressed 15 finger Sukuna, he would probably just high tail it out of there

So the only real nerf for him was being 15f compared to 20f. He would still be able to utilise Mahoraga & use his original body. I do think Gojo would’ve won here tho. If ever there was a time Gojo would mop the floor with Sukuna this was it. Could’ve ended the series, but plot had to move forward
Weird how we call to an after life scene when he’s alive after it, I.e when sukuna finishes the glazing and says “you cleared my skies” or “I’ll never forget you” , gojo smiles, so he had some sort of life in him, and every other “afterlife” scene we’ve had, has had sukuna in it, especially when they’re fighting him, weird.
December 24th was the day his friend, geto, died. If he died, he wanted to die the same day as his friend and he wanted to give his friend a proper burial before he couldn’t anymore. The more you know. Also, before Gojo went to fight, they talked it out in order for everyone to figure out how he died. Gojo is not a heartless, selfish dude, not to that extent. He is a bit selfish, but don’t forget the reason gojo wanted to be a teacher. He wanted the next generations to be as strong as him. Please consider all details before making assumptions.

I totally agree. Gojo is one hell of a man. Bro just wanted to enjoy his life, fight at his peak and the only way he could do this is by fighting sukuna at his best. Winning or losing wasnt the objective of the fight and i am pretty sure that the both of them knew this. They both just wanted to wreak havoc and go wil. Maybe he just wasn't aware that Sukuna wasn't at full power, Gojo never witnessed Sukuna at his prime so there's no way for him to actually tell Sukuna wasn't at his full power atm.
Plus there Megumi's situation, Maybe Gojo needed some time to prepare himself mentally. Gojo killed Geto on Christmas Eve and probably that's why he chose that day to put Megumi in his demise.

He said that Sukuna might have a binding vow with Kenjaku to do his bidding before fighting Gojo, so if he fought Sukuna back then, the consequences of breaking the Vow might even effect Megumi He was pretty wary back then so it may be true

To bad Gojo didn't learn that Evil is clever and deception is it's most powerful weapon. That what Sukuna did to Gojo. He trick Gojo into thinking he won, which drop his guard and land the killing blow on him. Sukuna at the end of the day is a curse spirit. Itadori learn that the hard way with Junpei's death. At the end of the day, Curse Spirit only value the suffering of humanity.
The problem is even with that deception such trick shouldn't work on gojo purely due to his six eyes,so it doesn't come off as smart it comes of as plot convinience.

It's explained both him and sukuna thought directly fighting each others without preparation would be too sloppy, at the level of damage they can produce they're aware it's very easy for either of them to die for a silly reasons if they're jot prepared for it enough. So instead they both would rather take the precautions and be at theur full strength, either way it was gonna be super risky but at meast with preparation they can make a plan. And Gojo's plan mostly worked if it's not for his infinity being cut by sukuna (smthg he couldn't plan out)
I think something related to geto happened on the sinjoku showdown date (maybe birthday maybe the day geto died maybe when rico died maybe when geto left idk) so he chose that day cause on that day 2 of the strongest had there problem and this time 2 of the strongest fought for the being strongest

Fr this is like a main theme of gojo. His selfishness was part of why he had the confidence for committing, from the beginning, to the risky plan of feeding yuji more fingers just so more could be eliminated when he kills sukuna. This, contrasted with yuji's selflessness allowing him to go along with it, as well as to put himself in mortal danger vs choso, is what allows every tragedy from shibuya onward to be set into motion. I think theyre foils in order to demonstrate how being too selfish and being too selfless can both be catastrophic personal flaws.

Weird how we call to an after life scene when he’s alive after it, I.e when sukuna finishes the glazing and says “you cleared my skies” or “I’ll never forget you” , gojo smiles, so he had some sort of life in him, and every other “afterlife” scene we’ve had, has had sukuna in it, especially when they’re fighting him, weird.

I totally agree. Gojo is one hell of a man. Bro just wanted to enjoy his life, fight at his peak and the only way he could do this is by fighting sukuna at his best. Winning or losing wasnt the objective of the fight and i am pretty sure that the both of them knew this. They both just wanted to wreak havoc and go wil. Trully one of the best fights but it did end a little too quickly.

Plus there Megumi's situation, Maybe Gojo needed some time to prepare himself mentally. Gojo killed Geto on Christmas Eve and probably that's why he chose that day to put Megumi in his demise.

No domain amplification, sure. A Mahoraga? He already used that against Yorozu before Gojo was released. And it wasn't even necessary in his fight against Gojo currently. It was his wanted approach, due to wanting to improve his technique. It was selfish desire. Not a need.
Gojo also could not just make his domain really big. Once he reached his maximum size, it started cracking instantly. It would not last more than a few seconds at best.

Heres my take: gojo after getting unsealed was likely still tired and had no idea what had happened during the time he was sealed so he created a plan on how to save megumi and helping his students get stronger and prepared for a scenario where he lost but injured sukuna enough for his students to finsih the job. This would fufill his goal of changing the jujutsu world and not having to save everyone where everyone can rely on eachother instead of just him

It's explained both him and sukuna thought directly fighting each others without preparation would be too sloppy, at the level of damage they can produce they're aware it's very easy for either of them to die for a silly reasons if they're jot prepared for it enough.
