This guy played at a new bar/venue here in downtown phx few months ago. My dad works at a motel that's literally across the street from this place. Was down there shooting the shit with pops and heard him over the crowd, street traffic, etc. I walked over and put his name into CZcams. "Nose On The Grindstone" was the first song of his I ever heard. Rest was history. Can not get enough of this guy. Found a video of him singing Pink Floyds "Time". Everyine at work knows of Tyler Childers thanks to me. We're all going if he comes back too
Don't interrupt him! I want to hear the rest of his story
Thus guy is awesome my husband heard him First on cmt drove me nuts for two weeks....As soon as i heard this man sing ...it was all over with for me i was hooked!!!!!
“I don’t smoke - but I like that option” 😂
I Love how humble you are, for someone who has such confidence and talent. Your great babe.
I’m form central Kentucky and he did a show down here not too long ago. And I have to say he blew the crowed away. Blew me away. I really want him to release some new music to jam too. He’s definitely my favorite artist to this point and I love county. But he blows me away. Has an amazing selection of songs for every mood. And being from Kentucky I understand everything that comes out his throat.
The interviewer was incredible. Well developed questions and very intellectual. This conversation was awesome!
Thanks, Dalton! We appreciate you tuning in! Lots of good nuggets in this one...
Interviewer was a dickhead honestly. And Tyler obviously didn’t care for him either by walking off fairly quick not even acknowledging him
Sorry Ed, but I gotta call BS here. Nothing dickhead about the way bluegrass legend Nick Forster conducted this interview. Do your homework and respect this man for his role in the American bluegrass movement.
Hes great I love his music. Proud fellow Wv supporting you☝️🤠❤🇺🇸🤛🌄🏞🎼🎻
How can you dislike this!!! Love you Tyler and keep supporting the eastern ky! I was born and raised pike county.
Keep yer nose on the grindstone ♡♡ SE KY proud!!
That was the first song I heard of his.. still one of my top 5 favorites by Mr. Childers!
Way to represent Tyler!!
Kudos man!
You have a forever fan with me!
I caught a touch of Ram Dass in his lyrics! I knew it! So much love for this guy.
Great guy, great artist.
I think the people that disliked this are very uninformed. Love you tyler! Your keeping me listening to awesome music!
Tyler is wearing this shirt on every interview...no joke lol
You mean you don’t have like only three flannels you rotate every other day, occasionally wear overalls so it looks like your wardrobe is more diverse than it is?
So we have to thank CCR for Tyler Childers..?
Man I Love him
Intelligent young man!
Great interview. #EBT
Nice interview! Like to see more with Tyler and the guys in the band, best in the business right now!
#EATINBIGTIME
Country boy brewing!!!

Life is just life ❣❣❣😎😇👍✌☘🐞🐸🐩❣❣❣
Man I miss Tyler from back before he start taking himself so seriously.
Why has it been so long since Tyler Childers has released any songs on his channel
logan garland he’s been touring his latest album for a year and a half. He’s written a whole bunch of new songs. Search Tyler Childers live and go to the Americana Fest video, you can hear them in good quality there. Next album is gonna be even better than Purgatory
"Discovered" him last night on CZcams. Now three of his songs are on my car playlist and repeated for my inside the Beltway Northern Virginia Lyft passengers :) I keep the volume down, you know. Why spit out a tip I don't have yet?
He's a performer. And I like some of his songs but not all, musically. But his lyrics cut to the bone and use idioms I don't quite get not being from there. He is not like his heroes like Lynyrd or CCR. Those were pop bands. And CCR had no connection with the South or Country at all, they just sounded like they did. Lynyrd has a surface patina of southern soul, but they were a pop band.
What does "Take my troubles to the highwall" mean? Or "Cast your troubles on the Lord of Lord's,
Or wind up laying on a coolin' board." What's a cooling board? Something from Faulkner? They seem like Appalachian idioms/talk that Lynyrd would never put into a song since most folk, like me, wouldn't get it.
But hearing it, and kind of knowing what he's talking about (I'm not an idiot) makes it fresh and interesting and seems to go well with the music which is also not at all like Lynyrd or CCR.
Cast your troubles on the lord of lord’s is just basically confessing and accepting your sins to the lord. Or wind up laying on a coolin board means something about dying because god has decided that your time is over.
At least that is my take
@@cameronmorrison9213 I looked up cooling boards. It's where corpses are put, which I got from the contest but never heard about.
"Take my troubles to the highwall" is talking about drugs and being high because after that he says throw em in the river and get your fill which means drown out your problems by getting your fill of drugs and hitting that high wall where your problems can't bother you
I follow u, more past 2 years.. But #omg call me the breeze 😂😇 + "old cotton field's backhome...but big fan of u #TylerChilders, I lost my friend pal #FlyHighFreebird but he around here sum. No offense but I thought u was Canadian. I am still confused BUT "LUCKY """ I I know ME ✌✌✌
Daniel Bryan lost brother lol but Tyler has some awesome songs!!
This interviewer seems extremely condescending. “Oh both of your parents had jobs? Oh, your family could read?” Ffs
Boulder-ites HATE coal. How ironic is this interview? Boulder-ites vote to shut down your town but then wanna hear you sing about it.
It's possible to both honor coalminers and understand that the industry itself is dying and needs to go. It's not so black and white. The coal industry hasn't treated it's miners that well either, but I understand that people need to feed their families and make a living.
@@meredithwilliams4671
Coal mining doesn't need to go. Your green communism does tho.
@@laribeeswatson6937 I feel incredibly sorry for people like you. Willfully ignorant and reactionary towards any discussion or olive branch that might lead to reconciliation and lasting solution. I guess you're unaware that Coal Country is being torn apart by opiate addiction and deep poverty. West Virginia is suffering badly. I should know, I have family and friends there. These are people I genuinely care about but all you can do is reply with weird accusations of communism. I guess people like you need an made-up enemy to hate. It's so sad.
Man is unnaturally witty. Explains the amazing songwriting
