- The smegma that geldings have to deal with can be a real challenge, backing up their kidneys and causing a lot of pain. Wild horses do not have this problem because there are not any geldings in the wild. If you are a horse owner, you should know how to take care of this. #heartlanders #horse www.heartlandhorseshoeing.com

I want to send him a lifetime supply of surgical gloves.
Why
He doesn’t need them. 😊 He’s been around horses long enough to already be colonized with horse flora and fauna.
Dude he’s a rancher he can careless about gloves .. i probably would do the same thing as he done .. growing up in the late 60’s my hands been in horse crap , cow crap , hog crap , chicken crap , quail crap , just about ever kind of crap there is working on a farm ..
That is alot of harmful wast to the planet. What he just did is the way. The best way God created.the proble. Is we live in a man made world. In the Bible it says the end of the world will be man made. We do not live in the world God made anymore but a world of man mad industry government and capitalism and that glove company unknowing and just trying to survive is a part of the problem and decision we are forced to make in order to survive in this man made world
me too!
This man is a true cowboy because he just went in there gloveless 😂
That smell has stay power, too.
That smell has staying power, too.
The " bean" is oily scum clump called "smegma", it can block the urethra and cause kidney failure . The clump of smegma sometimes may be deeper in the urethra so check with your finger. The sheath also should be checked and washed out with warm water mild soap, followed by clean warm rinse ❤ periodically .
My first horse call as a newbie veterinarian, lol 😆 took a mild sedative and two helpers, hahahaha.
This doesn't look nice but don't look away. If we're going to keep animals, we MUST keep them happy, safe and healthy. Teach and learn at every opportunity.
Real cowboy. It’s not always pretty but someone’s gotta do it.
Anyone grossed out by ranch chores and caring for animals should remain in the city.
Keep em safe and healthy. 💯
@michaellesueur5103 sure, but I mean we have gloves now.
Fucking savages.
More like a pilgrim 😂😂😂
That's one of the reasons why i only ride the horse at the front of the grocery store
😅😅😊
Hahaha

@@johnmorrissey1675 The really odd thing is since I seen this I have asked a few people that has been around horses all theirs and have never heard of this before.

Sheaths ? Like the Rumpleforeskin?
@@seekeroftruth5656They do not have exposed private parts. It is hidden in their sheath.

Has to be done and if you can't then don't own a horse period.
So how did horses survive without humans then?

@@messagedeleted4307 they wernt gelded

Every nurse breathing a sigh of relief-
Thank you!! I teach all my horse owners how to check for beans in a gelding.
I can’t imagine the relief that horse must have felt. 😅
Been picking beans my whole life!! Not gross..just natural on the farm.
What causes them??
I've picked beans on a farm, before, but it was NEVER like this! 😳
For all the years we had horses I never knew this. Learn something new everyday.
Well done mate you are awesome, to show this is so part of owning a horse, thank you.and people we can always wash our hands as gloves are not always available, so get over the glove thing, go scrub your hands if you are grossed out by it. ❤❤❤
Poor guy I bet he felt so much better
Enough internet for me
We need more of this stuff to help get kids off the internet. Lol.
😂😂😂
Well heck!
I never knew that.
Why’d it take so long for someone to mention it.
I’m serious.
He tucked that damn thing back real quick 😂
Know this ... most vet's don't even like "pulling a bean". So if you learn to do it, you will be asked by every woman you know to perform this. Also, it's a little more complicated than this cowboy shows. The bean is routinely lodged in the upper part of the penis (you'll have to do it to understand). His comment is 100% accurate though. That bean is a constant source of irritation and inflammation. You can literally hear and see the horse relax once its out. The trick is to perform this on a regular basis before a bean gets large. Know this also, you had better gain the horses confidence before the procedure. You're in a very vulnerable position and there's no way around it.
That's a here hold my beer moments. Lmao
Wow, never seen one that big! 😮
Thank you for sharing something I never knew exactly what it was. Always paid the vet for these things. But now I know. Thank you for sharing.
I pass kidney stones. You’re a hero sir.
Does the bean form at the exit, or had it travelled down from the kidney like a kidney stone?
most likely calcium build up while urinating that clots up and eventually completely blocks the head
It’s mineral deposits from dried pee. It forms there. Something that big doesn’t travel through the body; it causes intense pain that you’d notice and likely death.
Holy fuck balls
@@spinningchurro so like built up smegma that calcifies?
@@macawlovers1964 it is smegma that dries up and builds up in more and more layers over time.
I got into horses from an ex... don't have horses now, but NEVER heard of this when I was on the farm for 6 years with half dozen geldings. I kind of want to send this video to her.
cheers!
That's good to know bc I want to be a horse owner.
You can collect their pecker pearls
TMI for me but kudos to you for doing what needs to be done for your horse. I just can’t unsee that now. 😂
That was a big bean ! 😮 He made that look easy. Most don’t stand still like that or will kick the shit out of ya !!

Equine Yamakas
So, I have owned two mini pony geldings for a while. I have cleaned the older one's sheath before but I dont know how to get him to relax so I can see if there is a bean. I am also wondering if they will let me know? Do they have trouble peeing if they have a bean?
I'm loving that mustache/ beard combo thing hes got goin on.
I'm going to have to try one of those. Thats looks so cool 😎
Fu Manchu stache.

Gloves are a WONDERFUL INVENTION!🙄
And just like that, you got yourself a jaw breaker
😂😂
Damn it matt! 🤢🤢🤢🤮
Wow
@ChrisGregory I don't know if you've already answered this question and I missed it / not, but ... How do you get the geldings to relax and drop w/o being sedated? I have one that allows me to clean inside the sheath some what but it would make it easier to find the bean and make sure there's no sores / anything.
Going from 12 inches to 2 really quick
When no one in the comment is actually country 😂😂😂😂😂 you gotta do what you gotta do to get to tomorrow
Had horses when I was a kid, brother still does, yet this is the first for me. Ouch!
Good to know. Maybe a regular check-up would be good... Hooves, teeth etc.
It also causes discomfort wich makes it harder on your farrier to trim or shoe the horse
Bro fucking sistem I’m eating hot dogs while watching this
I am guessing this horse was sedated and maybe had something that numbed the immediate area. At least 4 I've cleaned with no sedation or numbing have drawn the shaft far up inside the sheath. Using Excalibur equine sheath cleaner has helped the job be less stinky, be easier on the horse, get done faster, and be better cleaned when doing the whole sheath cleaning job, with one drawback - me wondering if a horse could be hypersensitive to the stuff. You never know, like some people are allergic to latex.
Not ever shaking ur hands mister 👈
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Fun fact: mares can get beans too!
Had to do that to myself the other day. Damn beans!
