This is the best interview of Jason Lee that I've ever seen. You didn't steer away from the hard questions, you held him accountable, and you didn't let him get away with "the spin". This was great!
To answer one of the questions on this interview, I do NOT think every part of a celebrity's life is fair game. Celebrities are literal human beings with trauma just like the rest of us. Just because some worked their way up to be in the public eye, that should not make their ENTIRE life fair game. Celebrities can choose what they would like to share to the public. Celebrities are not invincible.
Imagine if they had a show together? That dynamic would be so interesting to watch.

He knows exactly what he's doing and how grimy it is. Thankful for people like Amanda that call the bs out.
That and he's not the only platform out there obviously and I think artists etc should go to more positive based platforms who will actually help to promote your music etc and not Jason Lee's platform unless your husband or wife ran off with the maid or the physical instructor and wants a divorce etc. He's not who you go to if you want to be professional that and as far as I can tell or know doesn't have a lot of viewers so I don't think Tekashi or anyone else would be missing out on anything significant. There are better platforms.
I'm glad Amanda called him out on the level of toxicity and darkness he partakes in. What's especially alarming is that someone can come to him and pay him to be part of a smear campaign if he doesn't like the person. Sad times.

I'm a journalist and a lot of people have no clue what journalism really is and what's required. It's often used interchangeably with blogging/content creation. It's not. It's about source-backed facts and information, not rumors, malice, opinions or assumptions. As a matter of fact, the writer's voice is not even present in journalism, not including editorials/opinion pieces. And, journalism isn't failing. There's always a cyclical nature/trend in newsrooms. Happens every 5-10 years.
So when will it change to be better 🤔 though?

This was definitely a facts vs opinions episode and I was on edge the entire time. It's ironic The Jason Lee Show expects full transparency from guests, yet he evaded most of the questions on Small Doses lol. Kudos to you both for agreeing to disagree though.

If there's ever a thing Amanda will do consistently, it's take you to church lol Her and Jason are super cool with one another & yet they've shown how it is HEALTHY to have a intellectual CONVERSATION where disagreements happen & it doesn't have to lead to violence or verbal attacks. Love thus duo. I'd actually like to see more of them discussing all sorts of other topics and current events.
He has convinced himself that one, what he does isn't gossip. And two, he has the right to people's private business and somehow there's some honor in it

You can do a celebrity rumor/gossip platform and still be respectable and have integrity about it. He built his platform on the negative/drama driven side, and doesn't care about the harm he causes with his "style" of so called journalism. Until it directly effects him and his pockets. People take the Cardi B/Tasha K lawsuit/verdict as a joke and make it about their personal feelings/opinions about them. But defimation is real, which is why those types of lawsuits exist. And the reason Cardi won that lawsuit to the tune of $4 million. It was proven in court that Tasha K lied on her, which cause reputational harm and personal emotional stress. It's not even about the money it's the principal. You would think Tasha K would stop by now after filing bankruptcy, but she hasn't stopped yet. But everyone wants their five minutes of fame, everything for viral moments and clicks + views.

I think it’s a hard pill to swallow to realize your life’s work is something dark. Jason needs to feel good about his life’s work. It could cause some inner conflict if you can’t justify it.
She was correct however she was doing no better on the real lol to her definition she was not physically there for any situation she was reporting on and still provided an opinion.
Bs they both do the same thing if she say he’s gossiping she’s doing the same thing Amanda’s name was revived for giving her opinion on not only what happened to her but other things as well my issue with Amanda is she’s literally trying to convince him and villainize and she low key is having a hard time computing that he’s able to just give her strong responses and she’s so good at asking questions and trying to control peoples responses he is giving her work lawd lol but yet because he’s sooo transparent genuine and a really good person it’s tripping her out but just my opinion if she took time to really listen with an ear of accepting people for who they choose to be she won’t be on the battlefield so often with some people who may actually loooves her

When talking about the term friend/friends.
I feel like in today’s culture people use the word friend very loosely and incorrectly. There are times when someone is an acquaintance. A close acquaintance there are so many levels.

Isn't it interesting that by Jason being so good at what he does, exposes a side of human nature we all have.
They both expose truths about humanity. Amanda just exposes truths and shows us how to be better.
So Jason just exposes what is, and leaves it to us to decide how we will lean in society. Self check our emotional intelligence, what are our values, self check our compassion, ect.
I love both of them.
He doesn’t just expose it does he? He puts a spin on it. He edits and strategizes and calculates the posts to garner a specific reaction in the comments/social media. He knows negativity sells so he continues to “peddle in darkness”.

Pls pls pls tell me there’s a part 2!! This was TOO GOOD! Even got my parents invested into the conversation while watching this! Jason was so playful and it’s actually nice to see him sit with the feedback and process it with healthy conversation. I wasn’t sure if he was being playful or if he really deluded himself that he wasn’t a gossiper

It’s not him seeking validation, approval or attention…he’s seeking $$$, and he will keep doing it until the public stops caring so much about celebrity gossip. Celebrity gossip is where the money is.
I disagree. I doesn’t seek validation from them, if he did he would have moral code/ line that he wouldn’t cross. Amanda basically asked him what wouldn’t you post and he essentially said ain’t much he wouldn’t post and basically as a news outlet he’s the one the celebrities and their teams have to seek validation from if they want their projects to pop off. 🤷🏾♀️

The definition of a gossiper. He just bragged that his team is everywhere who calls him and tells him what everyone is doing. He has people connected to him feeding him information about people. He uses that info.

I always watch out for people whose purpose isn't necessarily to come to a mutual understanding, but to bulldoze their points through, not matter what. While the other side may agree with the bulldozer's points and/or apologize when they are wrong, the bulldozer never apologizes for anything, always present themselves to be right, and instead of listening to have a constructive conversation, they're listening to either battle or to move on to a new topic. These people slitter themselves into spaces, because often no one has the energy to constantly battle them or they sometimes go unnoticed, until one day, they are in a predominate space and can no longer be ignored. I find these types of people to be extremely dishonest, have a low moral compass, and untrustworthy, because it's always a game to them. They prey on the psychology of the mind by looking for things that bring out and emotion in people, and then exploit that emotion to the highest degree, while actually having little to no emotion or remorse themselves. They often come off as calm, sometimes fast talkers, and often move from point to point to point, without really ever resolving anything. You'll never see them yell, you won't see them get out of character, you will not get a rise out of them, and you'll never seem to get emotional. I'm sure I don't need to say the name of the person in this interview I'm describing. With that being said, I still appreciate both of these individuals and glad to see that our people have created spaces for themselves and us.

I love you having Jason Lee on your show. Amanda, I’ve watched his interview with Kelis _repeatedly_ . Don’t downplay the helpful impact of celebrity news. It provides mental relief from intense news, creates platforms for marginalized people to be heard and celebrated, and can often be more compelling because it isn’t as judgmental of flawed or divisive people.
And after reading some of these comments y’all know way more about this MFer than I do. Y’all watch his stuff too so you’re proving him right.

I said it multiple times & I’ll say it again. Jason is another Piers Morgan. They base their careers on using their platforms to punish celebs/known people that don’t succumb to their requests/insistence for interviews or to simply acknowledge their BS existence. They can’t breathe if they’re not welcomed into certain celeb circles.
