- Here is how to set up your D Shot ESCs using the Betaflight Configurator with version 3.1 or newer firmware. Its a very simple set up, no calibration needed, just calibrate your channel endpoints and set your digital idle speed.

I can't get dshot to spin motors on motors tab, do I have to do it with tx/arming etc? I noticed you using the tx and not the sliders. thanks!

I am using favorite littleBee Spring 20A with Dshot. But using cleanflight not beta flight. Is this still the same process. Or do I have to change something, say the FC?
Good informational videos - thank you! I do have a question about DShot. I moved one of my quads to DShot on a set of DYS ESC's. I get a serious motor twitch on motor number 4. It seems at idle it is fine, but between take off and mid throttle, the motor just twitches. Never completely stops, but has a serious twitch. This doesn't happen all the time when flying which drives me crazy to figure out. If I switch back to MultiShot - no problem, flies great! Where would you suggest I start troubleshooting what I believe to be a DSHOT configuration issue?
Great vid.. can you tell me, I have used BLHeli-Configurator_win64_1.2.0 to Flash my ESC's and set 2 & 3 Motors to Reversed. I also have BLHELI Suite, do I really need to use that or is the one I am using sufficient? The suite is way more complicated.
What's D_Shot i have bl heli escs do i need to do anything to improve performance?
Thanks for the video I think bf change its now set idle value to set idle speed...I have another question if you can help using safe mode when I lost signal my quad will drop but my motors will keep spinning my question is how can I get my motors to stop completely in safe mode?
Hey man, I have the HGLRC XJB F425 Stack. The one i have is a replacment due to a bad esc. The old one i had no problem calibrating the esc's. this one will not give me full chirp. Any idea why?

JC did you know the difference between the firmware 16.6 and 16.66 DShot Commands? (I'm using DYS XSD30A V2 Solder Version) Can't find any information about this firmware upgrade. Thx for all the great vid you did!! So helpful :D
I am looking for this information also!!! Have you found anything? Have any issues running 16.66 Dshot Commands firmware? I noticed it on the blhelichrome app and flashed all my escs to it. havent had any issue with the hover test, but its raining for the next week so i wont be flying. MotoHoolig4n i'm still running the 16.66 Dshot Commands version and i had no issue at all with this version... It work like a charm! I'm still looking for the meaning of the DShot Commands version.
i found the answer on a forum. dshot commands is the same fw, however it is getting ready for new unknown features such as switching protocol and calibrating without the use of a usb link, through your tx. good to hear its going good. fly high
What if you just flash the esc's to dshot without removing the caps?
whats a compnay with great reliability that would handle 5s lipo? my dys xs30 burnt out twice in past week. Not sure what to get now

Hey there since you are very involved in the d-shot, I have a problem. I have a sp racing f3 Evo board and now I want to use d-shot but in the wiki it says I need to change something with the motor outputs and a cable? Can you help me?

I guess is have to put ESC wire from. Motor 4 on pin 5 and then do the clip commands. But what means "if you want to use blheli"
I havent forgot about your request. I've been messing with it for the last few hours but cant get it working. I honestly dont know if its something I'm doing or if its something with the firmware. Since the firmware is still a "release candidate" I'm going to wait until its officially released then give it another try.

I used d shot all is good but i have one question and that was how to fix the deadband on my throttle? Like 10% on my throttle stick is dead on 15% my quad starts to pick up.. Any cli command to fix it like set min check 1005 is this command still exist on bf 3.1? Thanks and advance glad that your yt is back👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Whenever you go to receiver is it set to go from 1000 to 2000? That should fix the problem.
I had this same question and what i've found is changing min_check removes the deadzone for the throttle. Default is 1100 for min_check, so if your motors are idling at 1040 and you want to remove most or all of the deadband, set min_check to 1045. I had mine idling at 1035 and set min_check to 1010 and it actually idled faster as though it was receiving some throttle input. Would love to know if this is the correct way to do this.
Can any one tell me why my betaflight says armed no motors spin?
Looks like speed is in creasing and de creasing yet motors are not moving?
Cheers for the info.. i got a slight problem when adjusting ( set digital_idle_percent = 4 ) i calculated my motors all spool up around 1060 so i used ( set digital_idle_percent = 6 ) now in the motors tab 1 spools at 1060 the other 3 are around 1070 any ideas ?

Dumb question. How will I know if I'm unsuccessful activating DShot?
The only thing I can think of is going into the motors tab and giving them slight throttle to see if they dont cooperate. But its really hard to mess up. As long as you have version 16.5 or newer firmware, removed the signal capacitor, and have D shot selected in Betaflight then its going to work. There no Min or Max throttle to mess up, or calibration or anything. Its fool proof.
set digital in version 3.3.1 does nothing
