Renathal should always be in core since its literally changes how u build decks and Dredge should always be a evergreen keyword we dont want to sit and wait for that one card that is bottom 3 ever again.
I would put the odds on renathal staying, but I think for blizzard to innovate with the game, they need to rotate this out so that they can try new deckbuilding legendaries in the coming sets. I feel keeping it will stagnate the game in Standard
I couldn’t agree more. Losing 40 card decks really really sucks. I already uninstalled hearthstone a few weeks ago because of the shitty meta, but I doubt I’ll reinstall it either. Losing 2 many good cards and gaining so much rng shit.

Can we just delete objection rather than rotate it?
I hate that when I tech in a minion specific for deleting secrets that it stops that too. I get that it triggers first but it’s still just so annoying.

Im gunna miss a lot of the dredge cards from Sunken City. That expansion brought me back into the game w/ the pirate questline deck and I hope theres a few dredge cards in the core set.
My version of the deck was the superior.... pffft pirates.. make them pirates, mechs and dragons so you can use Kazakhstan and wreck them with treasures and juggernaut
Feel like the three sets rotating out were the most creative year of sets in the game's history, lot's of fun cards especially Renethal, Collosals, and Death Knight.
Renathal should be added to core set, like right away.

Going to miss Sir Finley! I did capture the diamond version so that's cool it'll be one of those classic souvenirs.
it would be nice if we got some cool adventure in the next expansion, like it was in the times of Uldum. some adventures, done well, can really bring a lot of joy. I think I got nostalgic about the kobolds, where everyone was doing a challenge to complete it the fastest, and the dungeon itself was very cool. Everyone was infected and it was cool because it really stimulated the community where we were all united in our results.
Objection, Theotar, Identity Theft: just these three are a huge relief.

Can we ask the question, why does Mage even have secrets that counter spells and minions? It makes more sense for Hunter to have them because they play aggro or tempo but Mage is classically played with dragons and strong spells why do they need disruption when they have a good control archetype?
I think the reason most people aren't upset about astalor is that while he kills from hand you can always see him coming as outside of guff shenanigans which is a year behind us already he takes at least 1 turn of setup

Voyage is just such a great expansion, probably my favourite of all time. Old gods probably second.
My top three is: Un'Goro, Voyage and Old gods.
Objection is so annoying. Sacrificing a minion instead of a spell tends to be so worse

Devs should have a player base vote to allow 2 legendary, 2 epic, 2 rare and 2 common cards from last years set to roll into the core set.

Looking forward to seeing Renathal rotate out. I don't understand how every Renathal deck I play against has perfect tempo when their draw is supposedly worse...
I agree that renethal is the one to be missed the most it really put a challenge to aggro deck where you could regain control with those 5 more life points

I don’t understand why people hate non-interactive decks while in the mean time, also hate tech cards that allow them to interact with the non-interactive decks.
I'm glad renathal is leaving it always was annoying how you'd be at disadvantage just because of that card. The worst part was that you're forced to play that match for a long time unless you have a hyper aggro deck. Definitely not fun, specially for those who don't want to waste their time in one single match.
i really hope dredge goes core, just like tradeable last rotation.
it's just nice information, getting to know what's at the bottom so you know you don't need to wait to draw it and can develope a newer tactic faster .
and ofc. our boi Renathal should stay and get some more activation-voicelines, just to spice it up
Renathal was my favorite card that came out in the last two years, but one of the cards I'm definitely going to miss in standard is Accused Sylvanas. Since release I played her in almost every deck I made.
I really hope Renothal gets reverted. It has felt so much worse since the nerf to the health it just doesn’t hold up to the in consistency of the larger deck.
it's whole purpose is really just to build 40 card deck so...
@@lastbestplace8112 Actually, a lot of its purpose was to get the extra health. Which was wanted to help slow down aggro decks from murdering your face.
It's only since its nerf down to +5 health that it's had more focus on just the deck size increase.

The problem with objection is minions that destroy secrets don't destroy it but it does destroy Kidnap? That interaction pizzed me off. Pray Renathal stays. Remornia is my fav card ever, best I made was 24/36. I love removing cards from enemy hand like the murloc that ate it. The enchanter that eats a spell every turn for warrior has been in all my decks. Lorethemar doubling my deck was one of my fav mechanics ever
I think I share a lot of the same feelings with you. Sure there's a couple of rotating cards I can't wait to never see again, but the vast majority of cards rotating feel so core to classes at this point that it feels like we're losing a lot of identity to a lot classes :/
Prince Renethal for sure is going to be a big one to miss, I think also Naga School Teacher is a huge one to leave as well, really loved discovering the 1/1 nagaling with the 3 mana or less spell, probably my favorite and most used card from sunken city.
After so much time I'm very surprised Blizz didn't give Colossal minions the same treatment Titans got. I really think they shouldn't be in the pool of discover cards (except the ones that specifically mention 'discover a colossal minion').
They kind of did. Colossals can't be randomly summoned and some effects can't randomly discover them (Such as the upcoming neutral Highlander Legendary in the mini-set)
Besides that, there are very few ways of actually discovering them. There's like... Primus/Frost Strike in DK that can discover Sindragosa, Countess and Aman'thul (Peaceful Piper too but lets be real, no-one's picking Colaque...)
The most prominent annoyance from Colossals comes from cards that discover copies from the deck like Selective Breeder and Creation Protocol which bypass any discover restrictions because they're not being randomly generated.
(Naga) school teacher was super fun. Especially when Shaman had its battlecry synergies but it still felt really nice this year to play it in slower decks
I'm more than happy to see Astalor go. I didn't like the card pre or post nerf. I don't think neutral cards that are that powerful should be so ubiquitous. I verbally groan every single time I see it played, and even when I use it. I still stand that the change it should have been on the nerf was to turn it to 16 damage to minions and make it a good board removal. A card that can just slot into any type of deck, in any class, as removal, healing, and a finisher, is just ridiculous. Not to mention the wild issues such a battlecry has. I will be happy to see that card gone from standard.
I hope they keep renethal in core set honestly , if one day blood dk got viable again , playing it without 40 cards is just feel strange

I'm worried about mage, lot of cards that were in every mage deck are gonna rotate and the new cards are so damn bad i hope they release better ones
i hate spending all my dust on a good deck and then some the cards rotate out and i gotta use worse decks to gain exp/gold to get packs to catch up

Voyage to the Sunken City is one of the best expansions. Other suck and made me quit HS.
I’m glad to see thaddius rotating. The sludge deck isn’t crazy powerful but it’s awful to play against. That said a lot of my favorite decks are losing cards that have been helpful, hopefully some of them (especially nerubian vizier) get put in the core set.
It's really a testament to HS' modern expansion structure that almost half of these cards that will be 'missed' basically left long ago.
40 card decks will certainly be missed in Standard.

the only thing im happy about the rotation is arena will get changes so that at least for a few days i can actually play it without facing random bullshit, i started a new account and the number of barcoders i faced was insane, every single game. Not only do they have a good deck but they also just high roll so many good cards. i just have no words

I don't want Renethal to stay in core because I want him unnerfed. He's the only card that can introduce slower decks to wild again.
I'm quitting HS if wild doesn't get better next year, I'm not having any fun with either mode anymore. It feels like you're just forced to play whatever's popular. The days of building your own unique deck is long gone.
I could just cry. I just made Theotar the Mad Duke and now he's disappearing. So many cards that were essential for my decks are simply gone. I didn't know how this rotation principle works. I thought that all the cards from the sunken city simply went wild But the fact that some cards from Murder at Castle Nathria and March of the Lich King are also rotating surprises me 🥲

I uninstalled hearthstone and have been taking a break from it because I've hated the approach to design in recent times. I am interested in the rotation though, because so much of what I hate is leaving with the rotation, at least unless it gets put into the core set. I may be in the minority but one of cards im happiest to see leave is Astalor. It's not anywhere near as toxic as Thaddius and all sorts of other tilting mana cheating cards, but I just can't stand seeing the card anymore. It just goes into everything and I am ready for it to go. Having neutrals that are power cards and not deck altering like Renathal be in such a large volume of decks makes games feel so stale. Depending on the next expansions cards, Im interested in where the meta will go. Festival and Badlands are interesting sets, and even though Titans is a powerful set, it may be an opportunity for a unique meta, one that isn't dominated by scam and mana cheating.
Plague DK is going to go through the roof with Steamcleaner leaving. I'm surprised you didn't highlight that one.

Colossal feel a lot healthier of a big stupid splashy mechanic compared to Titan.
I hope Finley gets to stay for a while, he's not broken and it's the first time Finley's seen play for reasons other than "Being a Paladin or Shaman and He Is a Murloc"
I just got into hearthstone about 6 weeks ago, spent about $100 I think to get a decent set. Bought the Thaddius set two days ago. I had no idea this was all about to get taken out. Shit.
Started playing in voyage, super fun and a great set to get me hooked

do you guys think a finley that said 'replace your hand with the TOP of your deck' would see play?
Kinda the same as he is now no? Dredge is the only thing that gave you information of the bottom of your deck. At least we still have that new grave digger card for that effect.
@@mak. There would be a difference, you'd be drawing your current hand as your next few draws instead of your hand sitting on the bottom of your deck.
As for whether it'd see play? Probably. It's kind of like a Secret Passage, letting you go deeper into your deck to look for an out. Just it's slower to get your original hand back.
Interestingly, it'd combo well with Quickdraw, as you could use this Finley to slap your Quickdraw cards onto the top of your deck to draw in the following turns to get their extra effect.

No. You can disenchant them but it will be standard amount of dust refund

Maybe there's a Naga deck for wild that could work out but... I am sad, it was a fun archetype.
I'm gonna miss blademaster okani & kotori lightblade from Sunken City. Most people forgot how fun okani was and kept people on their toes.
I did like Okani, it was a nice level of 'play around' for a Counter effect. Wasn't too cheap, died to board presence though still held off 6 damage, just a solid card.
Renathals got to stay or go to 40 in wild. If they just let him rotate as is that will be such a missed opportunity.

Renathal should never have been nerfed and should be core or else have it's own gamemode or be a new core game mechanic. It never was a card in the sense of something like Astalor so the nerf around like 35% playrate was completely unwarranted and Renathal decks never dominated the meta, but they did change the game by adding variety and options we've never seen before. It made me get back into Hearthstone and I would still not be playing these days if it weren't for him.
Alternatively Blizzard needs to mass nerf multiple years of cards if they want me to stay invested into the game. I hate the remove everything every turn playstyle with hyper powerful cards that can remove the stickiest deathrattles, cheat damage or draw entire decks. I loved when removal could be played around with Deathrattles and vomiting cards on board cost you the real resource of card advantage if they got cleared back in the day.
Renathal was nerved and it was a gift from heaven, it was horrible designed card, bc of druid deck that had enough draw to don't care about 10 useless cards and have enough health to be unkillable before they would do their horrible crimes. Like play star alignment play millions of big cards, then play another star alignment and you have 1 mana to fight a 10000/100000 board as a rogue or any other class without massive board clear. You are not a real person if you didn't remember this crimes that was done by druids. If you miss this card, this means that you were playing Scam druid or you played on bronze 10 all year. Any of this means that you are a bad person.

@@impkiller5932 I think your problem lies with Druid which I barely play because I find it really boring. Druid also did 100% never stopped drawing through their entire decks and cheating infinite mana. I complain about free card draw all the time under zeddy's videos but I must be a toxic Druid combo player who is definitely a bad person instead, you can definitely judge who I am as a person by a random youtube comment about a single card game card.

Call me crazy but I been playing and climbing with my own version of the from de other side deck and has been really good especially vs Argo pally or Druid.
I will miss many cards from these sets and am one of the few that wont miss renathal as an aggro player 😂. To bad mage secrets is the sole reason i dislike wild 😢

What would you suggest mage have in place of Objection? Or; should we mage players just get our faces bashed in since we have no taunts or armor? Your bias for minion classes is showing again.
Now that Duels is leaving, dusting cards won't be a problem. No way I'd play wild
So I am really sad and happy about steamcleaner leaving. Very mixed feelings. I loved playing deathknight plague decks. But steamcleaner always felt like such a cheap answer. But for the mini set I wanted to start playing highlander warrior. But I am afraid without steamcleaner I am going to get bullied left right and center by some plague dk decks. Definitely sad but also double happy I guess.
Unpopular opinion, Renathal can go to Wild, quickly. I don't like Standard being "this" or "that" decks. Rena and non-Rena. That's exactly why Baku and Genn were snipped from Standard a year early. Normal decks were good but it was annoying having to plan for the deck, AND the Even/Odd version of the deck.
The card I'm going to miss the most is definitely Buffet Biggun... MORE, ALL I CAN EAT!
Just because of how renathal was so fun to play, I feel like in 2024 Blizzard should give us the option to craft decks ranging from 30 to 40 cards. Cool mechanic no?
Wow it sure would be interesting if they allowed that, but what if your health also changed depending on the number of cards in your deck?

There was this rule in a Twist once. The meta was horrible, bc of all classes who used more than 30 cards was very aggro classes with big draw cards, like murloc paladin. It wasn't control meta, it was just a help to aggro classes to have more aggressive cards. Hated that season.
@@impkiller5932 yes but twist was very restrictive. Renathal was playable in standard and we didn't really see aggro decks running it. Its just such a nice mecanic , I would hate to see it go

Honestly wont miss these cards much since cards like thaddius, sir denathrius, objection, aman'thul, reno the lone ranger, etc. really sour my experience with modern hearthstone. The meta is so toxic that even cards like Pirate Admiral Hooktusk wasnt good enough

It's yearly unless they announced a change I've not seen. Oldest 3 sets go, leaving the 3 most recent. Core cards get adjusted.
Next one is next year.
Standard spans 2 years and every year the oldest 3 sets rotate out to make way for the newest year's cards.
Also no, you don't get full dust value from cards that rotate.

@@MetaRedion No, mini-sets don't reset the rewards track. They count as the expansion before them. Reward track only refreshes when a full expansion is released.

Hopefully Renathal will not be rotated but if he is I hope they revert him, wild was much more fun with the 40/40 to be honest
