I just bought one of these and when I plugged in an external antenna the radio went almost silent, soon as I unplugged it was good again and was picking up stations, so seems there is a fault with the external, any ideas?
Hello, there may be a fault with the external antenna and may damage the radio. Normally, when an external antenna is attached, the sound quality increases and the reception quality improves in the radio sw mw lw bands.

I see they tried to restore the speaker. What did you coat with? How much did it help?
I did not do anything to the speaker. I just changed the LED.

think don't use that external antenna, it can load static electricity to the radio
