Let's learn the Swedish numbers! In this video we will be counting in Swedish.
Learning both the Swedish ordinal numbers and the Swedish cardinal numbers.
Which mean that you wont only learn how to say "one" or "seven" in Swedish.
You will also learn how to say "first" in Swedish.
And of course, learning to count in Swedish is not only about knowing the words but also about Swedish pronunciation. Hope you enjoy this Beginner Swedish lesson!
Somehow, SFI rarely focusses on pronunciation. Which we think is THE most important thing to be able to communicate in Swedish.
Mostly because Swedes are not very good at understanding "broken" Swedish.

😁
The best Swedish teacher on CZcams. Thanks for your effort and enthusiasm.
Wow, thank you!
I am from Greece and I ❤ your lessons så m🦆ket!!!
Just started learning Swedish and your lessons are super helpful. Fun fact: the "SJ" sound is basically how we pronounce "H" in Crotian language
Interesting! Happy you liked the lesson :)
Your emphasis on pronunciation is the best. Your way of teaching is good.
Glad you think so!
Thanks for the lesson. I am trying to learn Swedish. My grandparents were from Sweden and I would love to visit. I had to laugh about number seven . I love the Swedish group ABBA and Frida, The red haired singer, used to love to try and get people to say seven on camera and most of the time they couldn't and it really was funny lol. She got a kick out of it. Once she tried to get an interviewer to say 700,777 in Swedish. He looked at her and said shame on you lol. The audience roared in laughter
Honestly you are great teacher, I understand more swedish whenever I listen to your teaching video here. Your ways of teaching is fabulous!!,
Thank you! 😃
Lovely to hear that it is helping
This is fantastic! Your video was educational and fun :)
My ÅTTA years old boy is learning Svenska with Duolingo. Your video makes it much better to learn the right pronunciation (and we speak Spanish at home, so the SJU tip was phenomenal!).
Tack så mycket.
Glad you enjoyed it! How amazing that your 8-åring is learning Swedish with you
This Lady rocks. I Love All her videos: they really make the learning more fun and focused. Respect 🙏
Hej då! I'm Yiota from Greece and I'm trying to learn your language, which i find very intetesting. You help a lot, tack!!!!!
Happy to hear that!
When I was on a Swedish lesson and we learnt the word blåbär someone said that "that word sounds like the sound someone makes when they REALLY don't like the taste" :DD
xD
6 is Amazing in Swedish 😁
😂
Hi my name is Jeremiah and I’m learning how to speak Swedish by myself and your very helpful thank you. This is my 4 language I need to learn because I’m planning to move their someday. Thank you for all your help I really I appreciated it. Thank you for all your helpful videos!!!
Best vedios..thank you
Fantastic teacher, thanks for the great video.
You're very welcome! Glad you liked it 😍
This was the first time I learnt 1st to 10th. 6th was totally unexpected. I have a feeling the word for 2nd is related to the word 'other' because it's the same in Welsh (another language I'm learning). I'm learning Swedish (on and off) so that I can finally understand the title of the books inside IKEA stores.
It totally is! (talking about 2nd).
Interesting about Welsh, didnt know that!
(If you get deep enough, you can understand the names of IKEA furniture as well 😁)
Hej vacker tjej! 👋👋👋

Jag gillar blåbär.

When you order in swedish, since there are en and ett words. When I want to order something say a one sandwich, do I say my order as “Ett smörgås” or should I keep using En smörgås? Also when ordering multiple do I say for example, ”Fyra Smörgåsar”?. Trying to turn my Swedish learnings from duolingo into conversational. Any help will do, Tack så mycket!
Great questions! When you order something you kind of need to learn by heart if the thing is an en/ett-word. In this case, smörgås is an "en"-word so you would say "en smörgås". And yes, if you are ordering multiple sandwishes then you would use the plural version and that would be "fyra smörgåsar" just like you wrote! :)
@@FunSwedish Tack så mycket! Btw is there a way to determine if a word is en or ett? Sometimes Duolingo just introduces new words and Id be surprised that its an en or ett word since I made a mistake
@@XIUJD the en and ett problem 😅.
Short answer: NO. There is no rule, by just seeing a lone word in the wild, and knowing if it is "en" or "ett".
Longer answer: However, most times you don't encounter words like that 🤔.
It is usually someone saying "en smörgås" or "smörgåsen" or conjugated in some way, that at least gives you hints on which one it is.
Also compound words aways take the last words "en" or "ett" thingy.
And also, 70% of words are -en words. So you might want to start guessing there 😊-
The good news is that it is not SUPER important if you get this wrong. So dont make it prio 1 or let it scare you.
There is a lot more to say about it. We dedicate hours to this topic on our courses since it is so tricky. But not at the very beginning 😁.

So The Hives dont start that song by screaming TROY GREEN
Tre is pronounced exactly like the Greek number 3(τρία =tria) 😉😃😃
We have actually many words from Greek! ευχαριστώ!
Hmmm mums. My new word for today thanks.
När man räknar så säger man en eller ett beroende på vad man räknar. Leker man typ tagare eller nåt så säger man ju en eftersom man räknar sekunder. Fast ska man bara räkna rent allmänt så är ju ett det rätta. Allt enligt mig ;)
Also me being taught to count with apples: 🤯
Also me absolutely trying my hardest to pronounce the ordinal numbers while she calmly snacks on blueberries:😰
Hahaha 😂 but I have more than 30 years of practice of ordinal numbers!
@@FunSwedish But calmly snacking on blueberries is the new level of legendary👀
Hey
imbossable
6:11 😂
😁😁
"Andra" for "second"? Isn't it a cognate to English "other"? It looks way more like "other" than like something related to "two".
By the way, English "second" itself is not related to "two" at all, it's a Latin word initially meaning "following".
It is funny that the two first ordinals are so often irregular. They are so also in Finnish.
@@okaro6595In Russian as well. "First" is "pervyj", related to "pered" (before). "Second" is "vtoroj", a very distant relative of German "wieder" (again). Colloquially "second" is also "drugoj" (literally "another").
Hej ! Varför säger man: "alla blåbär jag ätit" istället för "alla blåbär jag åt" eller ens "alla blåbär jag HAR ätit" ? TACK !!!
You can say all of them but it depends a bit on what you said before :)
It's just feels weird that 6 is Swedish is a dirty thing in English
It is also dirty in Swedish though... 😅😅
Sex isn't dirty tho, unless you're doing it outside.
Lol my friend calls me a blueberry!
Rs uttalas INTE SCH utan RS. Hälsningar Susanna från Helsingfors
I had a Finnish teacher and she forced us to pronounce it as RS, but out in the real world we do like the Stockholmers do and pronounc it as SH.
Who else here came from Anomolies video
