Son Yeon Jae 2012! She always had the best music
It doesn't matter which routine, they are all stunning.
Memories
Is there a version of the closing ceremony with better audio?
The one of Ray Davies!
One does not simply don't tell a legend to lip sync
Very few performers in the 2012 opening ceremony were lip-syncing, but they all recorded emergency backups of their performances which would kick in automatically if their microphones failed. Paul was deafened by the Olympic bell, and missed his cue, so the backup recording was sent out to the TV feed (but not to the stadium audience) until somebody switched it off !

I imagine that being able to shout the Na-na-na-nas along with Sir Paul McCartney at a live concert has to be one of the most cathartic experiences a person could have
It is. This song is such a mighty experience being in the crowd.
You're absolutely right, I was able to do it here in México
kari mcnay it is, those people are extremely lucky man.
It's such an amazing feeling, I went to his concert in 2017 in Sydney, Australia and there were 10,000 people in this stadium standing yelling out the nanana bit and they turned on all the lights so Paul could see all of the people in the audience... Insane experience...
I did ❤️
They wanted him to lip sync
Paul was not having it
Sanjog Nepal Paul is right. Age is normal and he sound great.
Imagine someone have the gut to tell Sir Paul McCartney to lip sync.
Paul record it prior to the performance, wired is always a better choice than wireless (used to be)
apparently, this thing only happens in the TV Broadcast, none of this was heard in the stadium.
It was just a backing track, but Paul got distracted and started singing too early by mistake. Watch his interview on it.
Hahaha good one
Olympics : "Paul, you should do lip sync."
Paul : "Nah,nah,nah,nah......"

Paul: That Olympics guy doesn't know anything about music. He just doesn't understand.
😂😂♥️💯
@ALBERT WANG my bad
he should have lip synced because this performance vocally was awful
Hey Jude and We Will Rock You are probably the 2 most crowd-involving songs since the dawn of modern music.

Congrats. You made me cry
Sir Paul Mccartney looks so great in this video. He totally looks like a music veteran and has a shaggy hairstyle that reminds me of the beatles in the late 60s
Agreed
I agree too
Agree! can we all also agree that for the following 3 decades (part of the 70's, the 80's and 90's) his haircuts were not favourable to him? Specially those horrend mullets. The current haircut is just fantastic to his face and persona!
Paul McCartneys Dad was an amazing guy. He lost his wife at a young age and encouraged Paul in his music (and John and Paul wrote many of their early songs in his house)
Fun fact: Paul and John had just finished writing She Loves You in the back room in Paul's house on 20 Forthlin Road where they usually hung out while Paul's Dad was watching TV. They came out, told Paul's Dad they'd written a song and wanted to play it for him. So he turned off the TV and they played it. When they were done, his Dad said "that's very good boys but isn't there enough Americanisms around with all the yeah, yeah, yeahs?"
Joe good fact and all but the talentless James Corden better stay in America
Joe carpool karaoke by any chance haha?
@@jamesxracing8111 If we could edit James Cordon out of that it would be perfect. I love the part in the statue scene where the crowd shoves James out of the way.

About 7 years ago I stayed up till 4am for the opening. At that time I never thought there would be Hey Jude. And when everybody began singing together, I just cried. Even now.
I did the same but didn't know this song
I remember watching this on TV nine years ago and crying my eyes out. It's such a magical moment. I came here to relive that feeling and it hasn't disappointed

Let's be honest, no one's done the Olympics better than us. Paul McCartney's too busy being Paul McCartney to get old
I think you're right on both counts. I was living in Sydney for the 2000 Olympics (which were a hoot) and I've grown up in Australia, but I'm from England and I had such a massive lump in my throat during London's opening ceremony. It was amazing. And long live Paulie!
London 2012, the best so far. Cheers from Perú.
