  • In this video we take a look at Detroit Urban Survival Training the famous self defence guru of TikTok, CZcams and Instagram. Operating out of the Detroit Threat Management Centre, he teaches people how to defend themselves. In this video we put his techniques to the test. Today we react to a few of his techniques and then attempt to recreate them in real life to test if the actually work. I had a lot of fun making this one so I hope you have fun watching it too!
    Thanks for watching

My biggest criticism was always for the "striker fired weapons against your chest" and he grabs it as the gun would be ejecting the cartridge from bullet that just fired into him...

Really appreciate how you took the time to test this stuff out instead of just straight dunking on him. He's trying to provide a service and you demonstrated that. Good on ya

I like how Jackson has a Fair and neutral standing point whenever judging the videos some of them he says work quite well some he says are just kind of dumb

Well to be fair, most robbers don't KNOW you're going to try and counter them. In this reenactment, you're EXPECTING him to move around and you move to counter his counter.
It's still a good way to get fucked up instead of just giving the guy your wallet, but I see where the Detroit dude's coming from. Most criminals don't expect people to fight back.

Dale is like a mythical warrior, similar to Hercules, the techniques do work, but really only when done by a superhuman like Dale

I can't believe the range of views this channel has. Just yesterday I was watching a 100k video on a popular topic and now I feel like I'm on some starting out CZcamsr place.

1:45 As someone who does Karate and wrestling I know a tad bit about takedowns
    I LOVE takedowns
Also there is no pressure point on the top of the head and it’s one of the *least* pushable places
Pudge to the forehead if you want to do anything because when you punsh the top of the head you are trying to overpower their head neck, spine, and legs and it’s not really anything
You’re trying to compress their spine with your bare hands (and whatever that key chain is)
Push to the front of the forehead so that their neck bends back giving you some space
Also disconnecting the shoulder from the hips is important for takedowns but it clearly doesn’t seem like enough to just use the keychain
That might work if you grip their shoulder turn away and maybe push their opposite hip as you pull the shoulder but that lack of both strength and technique does not seem like enough to put a man on his feet

    4:06 that’s great advice
    Nothing to say that’s brilliant
Just do something dumb then if they are still following you then they probably are
    Then tell professionals
That’s how you keep yourself safe 👍

Please don't say things like any plan is better than no plan or any training is better than no training. It takes hundreds of hours to untrained bad habits but only seconds to develop them. Like for real the only reason you guys could pull any of that stuff off is purely because you have legit mma skills. The vast majority of the Detroit dudes techniques would straight up get the average person killed. The verify your being followed then call the cops while heading to the police station however is absolutely legit af! Also none of his gun disarm techniques would prevent collateral damage. And having been held at gun point more than once (xnavy and lived in Chicago Southside lol) I have never seen any hold up not have a homie hidden to the side to jump your ass lol well outside of movies at least

  • @MartijnMuller
    @MartijnMuller Před rokem +1

It takes a special kind of stupid criminal to have a long-range weapon such as a gun and get up close enough to be disarmed.

It's funny how they created the video, it's good. But I think what they neglected to realize was that the assailant wouldn't know what the victim would do, hence why some of these tricks might actually work. When Jackson and co. were demonstrating and trying to prove stuff, they like knew what was going to happen, so that's why it probably didn't work as well. Still good though lol

    Unless he wants your life
Then don’t agree but don’t grab the gun or something
    Don’t be an aggressor
