"Why couldn't they use the medicine?" My initial reaction was the same, but I eventually realized there was a very good reason: the medicine couldn't heal itself. Any of the cure that Logan brought close, The Phoenix would have instantly disintegrated. Logan, though, could use his healing to at least keep himself -- and his claws -- in one piece.
Oh wow thatâs interesting point. I hadnât considered that đ¤
I came here to make the exact same point. Phoenix would have easily destroyed the weaponized cartridges containing the "cure". Wolverine was the only weapon able to get close, and to be honest she could have easily lifted him off the ground, kept him at a distance and still used her powers to continuously disassemble him.
@@Sessis As I think about it, since Logan's not supposed to be any smarter than the rest of us, it probably would have been better storytelling to let us see this all in the action: in his last charge, have Logan try to bring syringes close to Jean only for them to disintegrate in his hands as he approached her. It would have given him one last moment of desperate realization and acceptance that there was only one solution available to him, making the whole thing even more heartbreaking.
@@jasonondik6003 True. In my mind, The Phoenix wasn't yet in complete control. Some small part of Jean was there and knew Logan meant Safety and Friend, so she allowed him to come close.
While I agree that Wolverine couldnât have used the cure on Jean because it wouldâve been disintegrated by the Phoenixâs destructive power, I believe youâre giving the hacky screenwriters more credit than they deserve. The screenwriters set out to create a bastardized version of the Uncanny X-Men comicsâ Phoenix/Dark Phoenix Saga, so the only possible ending was Jean dying.
It was melodramatic and hacky.
Part of the problem was that, at the time, movie studios only thought in terms of trilogies, not 30+ movies franchises like the MCU, so their intent was to kill off as many X-Men as possible to âraise the stakesâ and leave Wolverine, the most popular character, the last X-Men left standing (other than Storm, but her character was marginalized and neglected in all the X-Men movies).
I give the screenwriters partial credit for following the comicsâ tradition that every woman Wolverine has ever loved dies tragically, which is another reason why Jean had to die.
I love how you now understand Magneto so well that you immediately knew he would reject Raven/Mystique as soon as she lost her powers, even though she had sacrificed her powers in order to save his.
"Is that a T.V.? Why is it so big?" (It's also HEAVY, which is why it's in this shot. One kid carrying it under his arm guarantees that that kid has super strength!) At this point, flat-screen T.V.s were expensive, so quite rare. Plasma ones were typically all you saw until a year or two after this film came out when liquid crystal display (LCD) televisions finally were good enough and well priced enough to start pushing out the traditional cathode ray tube (CRT) T.V.s like the one shown here.
Thereâs an end credit scene. Did you see it? Itâs really important to this story. Itâs at the very end after the credits.
All your reactions and edits to all three xmen movies have been top notch. Thank you for taking us with you on this journey through the Fox X-men verse.đ
Thank you so very much for the kind words. I was actually feeling a bit self conscious of the edits so that means a lot to hear!
@@Sessis I have seen reactions from big youtubers with massive followings that have the first 20 minutes of the movie missing. I have seen critically important scenes from main characters back stories be completely ripped out. Trust me you are doing a great job with your edits đ
The Phoenix is not a mutant, it is a cosmic entity. The cure would have not worked.
Interesting, I did not know this! Thanks for the info.
Not in this movie, remember they simplified everything in these movies to not make it confusing for the audience, so Phoenix is just Jean, in other words, is just another mutant.
The movieâs hacky screenwriters dumbed down the Phoenix to being an alternate personality lurking inside Jean Grey. Callisto classified Jean Grey as a âClass 5â mutant, which meant the Phoenix was the most powerful mutant in existence.
Callistoâs âclassâ ranking of mutantsâ power levels was never explained and was completely subjective. The obvious giveaway that it was BS was Callisto claiming that both Magneto and Pyro were the only Class 4 mutants present. It made no sense that Magneto and Pyro were at the same level! We witnessed Magneto being able to lift and reposition the Golden Gate Bridge whereas Pyro canât even produce his own fire and was defeated in a one-on-one fight with Iceman.
@@reavern I always thought it was hilarious about that Pyro line. Like...really, really, that dude was weak af. Don't put him up there with Magneto.
Not in this movie
Great reaction Sess! Love the "Good that he got there, but it's a little late" đ
Thank you!! đ
Isn't this so apt for today's society? Yet so many don't "get there". đ
I served Kelsey Grammer and his family while they were in Victoria BC, Canada filming this movie.
X-Men movies going forward:
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
X-Men: First Class
The Wolverine
X-Men: Days of Future Past
Deadpool
X-Men: Apocalypse

Dark Phoenix
The New Mutants
Deadpool & Wolverine (will be in theaters this summer)
X-Men based tv shows if you also want to watch them:

Legion
The Gifted
Thank you very much đ
ngl, LEGION is a *MUST*
The poetic part about the interaction between beast and the child cure, is that the child in this movie would later play the role of beast in First Class.
I'm afraid not. The boy here is played by Cameron Bright, while the Beast in First Class is played by Nicholas Hoult.
@@romanvajdik my mistake, I honestly thought that was a young Hoult for years, never even bothered the check because the resemblance is uncanny.
âCharles Xavier has done more for Mutants than you will ever know. My only regret is that he had to die for our dream to liveâ. The best line of the movie
Powerful line indeed
Great reactions from Sessis, to X-Men: The Last Stand.
There is also a awesome end credits scene that Sessis and everyone should check out.
Aside from wanting to commit genocide, within the logic of the X-men universe Magneto has some solid arguments. Mutants constantly see prejudice and persecution from humans and Xavier's idea of trying to show humans they have nothing to fear from mutants by nurturing them and teaching them to use their powers responsibly hasn't worked. Even at this point humans aren't trying to co-exist with the mutants, they're trying to cure them, in effect wipe them all out.
Another tip or information is the "phoenix" is not a mutant gene, without spoiling it, jean is a host for a entity called the phoenix that you'll see later on in the next movies how it came to be as she wasn't born with it! so the cure wouldn't have worked on her!
TVs weren't always flat. Look up the video of Bjork exploring one to see what they used to involve, and if you want your brain melted just a little bit, but in a good way
Iâve seen older TVs before ofc I think mostly confused by it since they have so much cool technology but they have such big TVs đ
Sessis mutant power is making people fall in love with her through sweetness and innocence.
Me, innocent? đ guess at first glance đ thank you for the kind words!
@@Sessis my teeth fall out every time I see your videos you're so sweet :)
Sessis, if you are watching the Xmen movies in order, if you get to the New Mutants (2020) they are set in the 1980s, there is a movie from 1995 , Generation X (1995) it takes place after that movie and is set in the 1990s
THAT was a very nice reaction!
Thank you that means a lot to me to hear!
@@SessisYou're welcome.
Did you watch de post-credits scene?
I think that "cure" Jean would be kind of hard for her. She will be alive, but maybe to have no powers will be hard.
Great reaction... As always.. đ
There was a post credit scene? Oh no I missed that I think đđ
sessis, maybe logan couldn't get the cure cartridge close to jean at the end because she would have obliterated it, so he had to use his claws because they were the strongest material on earth
X Men is the awesome great reaction Sessis đ
Sessis vids are the best. Hi Sessis. đ đĽ°
Thatâs a very generous praise đ thank you also hi đ
Are you really not old enough to remember the big CRT TV's? Before the flat LED screens came along, a TV screen needed a big tube behind it.
32:30 God that is the worst Juggernaut ever...
The medicine would have been dissolved before Logan got to Gean, like his clothes and skin and everything else. So Logan had no choice but to do what he did - breaking his heart.
x-men is the best đđ
Iâm surprisingly enjoying the movies a lot! Very glad I decided to watch them
uh oh, this movie already made you emotional. I can only imagine what Logan (2017) will do to you đ
The Dude is another movie
Hi, I'm a Brazilian fan, I'd like to make a film suggestion. The name of the film is City of God, it is one of the greatest Brazilian films, I would like you to watch it
Hey nice to meet you! Iâve not seen that movie, maybe in the future. Atm my plan is to watch the X men franchise
The Last Stand is not the last episode in the series. The movie "The Wolverine" follows this one.
Now (as you said) there are other movies in this franchise.
You should watch Xmen origins Wolverine SOON. By release date it comes after X2 so you should get to it really soon AND (if you do) please view it with an open mind. It has a bad reputation WHICH I DO NOT THINK IT DESERVES. In my opinion it is one of the better ones.
After "The Wolverine" they try to reboot the series. They do this by doing another prequel "Xmen First Class" which has all new actors -- and is a good movie.
Then they do a cross-over. The movie "Days of Future Past" follows both "First Class" and "The Wolverine" and the new and old actors get together. At this point you have to 'give up' on continuity making sence and just take each movie as its own thing.
Now after "The Wolverine" you could just jump to "Logan" which was supposed to end the series. Both Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart said they would not do any more xmen films after it BUT they did.
So my recommendation is:
1) Xmen Origins Wolverine,
2)The Wolverine (remembering that it follows Last Stand)
3) Logan (Keeping in mind that you are jumping over a few movies)
4) Then come back to the other as they don't have continuity to worry about.
Love your Reaction/commentary, you do a good job.
I am here! Let's go. So before I start the vid just some background. People HATED this movie. I however liked it minus a few things (it might be because I had a huge crush on Famke Jammsen at the time, Jean) I didn't think it was a horrible movie, but a lot of fans still loathe it. Does it rank high on the list of my faves? No First Class is still #1 for me, but I don't think it's as bad as people make it out. I will be interested to see your take. Good job Sess!
giving her the cure probably impossible it will be disintegrated coz shes doing that thing.
Ashleigh Burton: (See's Sessis) SHE IS SO PRETTY!
they both say "schiesse!"
37:43-37:56 đ˘
39:30 a Cure is never going to be a thing for autism (whic is what I have), a "vaccine" maybe or a treatment, but never a cure. And yeah I would take a treatment because I could always just go off it if I changed my mind. Only way to know what's me and what's ASD.
Injection would not survive her desintegration waves, it would have been destroyed. He has pants there still but thats because they didnt want movie to be 18+ lol :D
LOL if this was the Boys he would be completelly naked showing everything and the healing would look more gross and painful đ
7:11 I hate that comment, the woman who makes sparkles says "we're perfect as we are" to the girl who kills anyone she touches.
As an autistic person I recongize this so much, look if you don't want a cure that's up to you but you make that decision for you and no one else and you don't get to be pissed because someone else might want a normal life.
What do you remember from STAR WARS?
And what did she earn?
You are the cutest!!
Thank you for the compliment! âşď¸
Oh, no, you miss postcredit scene...!!! đąâšđ
Yes I didnât know there was one đ
Another great reaction. If you want to continue with X-Men I would recommend going to X-Men First Class followed X-Men Days Of Future Past. her dying makes more sense only after seiing the end scene but with Magneto but it's not like the characters knew this would be the case. so yeah it's flawed reason to kill her
Thank you Cody, I think Iâm going in order of release so Wolverine is next I think but with how much Iâve enjoyed these movies Iâm probably gonna end up watching everything
*HIGHLY REQUEST: Please react kill 2024 Movie trailer...*

Didnt see it in the reaction, but did you see the post-credit scene?
You need to continue to watch these in RELEASE.ORDER! Though there are 2 versions of Days of Future Past, I think the Rogue edition is actually better, but is not the theatrical version. It gives a little more extra scenes not in the theatrical version ans doesnt really change the story.
I didnât see the post credit scene đI didnât know about it and didnât thought to check đŤ
@@Sessis Check it out before your next react to the X-Men franchise. There is a few more in the franchise including X-Men Origins: Wolverine (which is centered around Wolverine), and then First Class which has its own sequence of movies. So definitely watch in release order, like how we saw them in the theater with the same suspense. The post credit scenes all help tie in to the future films. As to X2 with Jean Grey dying, we were also all in shock, but saw the phoenix in the water and were like is that her?!?!?!
