Most Dangerous Favelas in Rio de Janeiro! 🇧🇷

- The Brazilian favelas have a notorious reputation for being among the most dangerous places on Earth, where crime rates for murder, theft, and kidnapping are serious concerns.
In today's video I visit: Rocinha Favela, Vidigal Favela, City of God Favela, Santa Marta Favela, Morro de Providencia Favela, all in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Despite this, I couldn't resist the allure of embarking on an exciting adventure. In 2020, I made the decision to explore eight favelas over the course of ten days and document my experience.
In conclusion, it is important to clarify that glorifying crime is not a productive or acceptable way to address issues related to gang violence and crime in Brazil. While it is important to acknowledge the complex socioeconomic factors that contribute to the rise of gangs and criminal activity, it is equally important to condemn the actions of these groups and work towards finding solutions that prioritize the safety and well-being of communities.
So, join me as I take you on a journey through Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I've lived in Rocinha for almost my whole life , one of my favorite place on earth
Though most of the people are generally friendly hard working non criminals that live in the favela or communities as they are preferred to be called, as someone who has lived in Rio for many years, there are still a lot of punk ass teens or young kids that frequently come to the wealthier neighborhoods and try to steal from innocent unsuspecting people especially tourists. I am just being straight up about what goes on here. It is a very complicated topic and unless you have a tour guide like Chris did, I do not suggest going into one of these places alone ever. I am glad Chris enjoys going to these places 👍
There’s also Dudes from wealthy neighborhoods who join the gangs.
One of the most dangerous robber was from a nice family he was mentor of one of the most well known Drug Dealer from Rio.
Both came from a well structured family outside the slums.

These are Zona Sul favelas: Rocinha, Vidigal, Santa Marta - safe for tourists.
City of God isn't, but it's not in conflict so you can go right through.
You say they are safe for tourists but when police come shooting the tourists are not safe. Santa Marta I came across a very large gang with big guns and I felt anything but safe.
i live in Rocinha and its not like the media says. Its not dangerous to live here. There were more shootings in the US where I used to live than here in Rocinha.

Vidigal and Rocinha both have UPP's which are basically police substations inside the favela. Go to Zona Norte to Complexo da Mare where there is no UPP if you want to talk about the most dangerous favelas. But I understand it's just a clickbait title to generate views from thrill seekers.

None of these are nearly the most dangerous favelas. These are the tamest favelas.
City of God tame? Vidigal shoot-outs multiple times a week every week between gangs and police operations.
Right. Complexo da Mare doesn't have a UPP and out of the favelas with UPP's Complexo do Alemao and Penha are the worst.
I was in Vidigal for a month. No shootouts. That whole area including rocinha is controlled by one gang, CV. The last shootout in Vidigal with the police was in 2018 I believe. I was there last month. The most violent favelas are in the north zone.
