He is not overrated. The money spent on him was an investment on the player he will become with a couple of more years of experience in La Liga. He needs space to grow and people around him that trust him and give him confidence so he can become the star player he is meant to become. He doesn't need people rushing him to produce results straightaway. He is just a kid.

Players are humans, some of us don't change our lives completely and everything just starts to work fine as if nothing was different.

What you've said is true. Adapting is part of it, an example I've seen compared with Joao is Aguero's first season. he had 7 goals in 42 games, Joao had 9 goals in 36 games. Aguero's next season had 27 goals in 50 games. And Joao currently has 7 goals in 10 games.
So it's true it takes time to adapt to a new team, especially at a young age. and in a new league.
But with Suarez, he's really helped the whole team become way more successful. Well at least with offence. We've scored a lot more goals and everything. Something Joao lacked last year was really a good experienced teammate who could help him become better. Now with Suarez on the team he has just that.
Suarez is really just what we needed last year. Both Morata and Costa weren't able to take the place of Greizmann, and Joao is still young. If we had better finishers then we would've had a lot more goals.
But either way, our attack has definitely become a whole lot better the past year. Ever since Anfield, Llorente just became something else. The signing of Suarez helped, a lot, him being the second top goal scorer in La Liga alongside Joao. And really just the first game of the season boosted our confidence.
Ever since we played Salzburg, Joao has scored 6 goals in 4 games. which is truly incredible. And he's became the second top goalscorer alongside Suarez, as previously said. And he's become an extremely important part of the team.
And then there's our La Liga unbeaten streak. Ever since Koke came back we haven't lost a game. Really showing how important Koke is to our team. And now seeing how Joao Felix plays this season, it's really showing that he too is an extremely important part of our team.
There was Eusebio, then Futre, then Figo...Next year Ronaldo passes the torch to Joao Felix 🔥🇵🇹

The only things that are valid criteria is what team do play for (as do you play for a top team?) , what titles have you won, and how many goals and how many assists (if you are a midlfield or attacker). That's the only valide rating criteria because they are objective. Everything else is just talk.
