For some reason, Low tier battles are more exciting than just pure top tiers (perhaps because there's more chance of variaty to begin with), that 1st match you may have lost, but this kind of stuff is what we why say MVC games are something to behold as NOTHING is set until the last pixel of health is done for or the last second of the match concludes, as there's always a chance for a crazy comeback.

These games are some of the most absolute BS you can find. That also happens to be what makes them some of the most hype games you can find!
Getting clipped with an infinite into guard break on incoming and getting entirely washed without being able to do anything is a good example of why some people hate these games. That same thing happening when an opponent has a pixel of life left and makes the comeback with nothing left in the tank is also the entire reason why some people LOVE these games.
I agree. I also think some people hear the word low tier and just automatically think those characters always get bodied every single time. That’s not the case it’s just statistically over the course of a long set they’d be exposed but that doesn’t mean in one off matches they can’t be great.
It’s just…. WILDLY different than what we’re usually seeing out of mvc2 videos. 9 times out of 10 if you’re watching a video of the game it’s of people who are good, which usually means they’re using the good characters. So when you see stuff like this it kinda lowkey wrecks your brain in a good way. Same level of chaos but just with way different moves and graphics on the screen 😂
Low tier matches mean I get to see some weird combos, and you get to watch some mechanics that are skipped in top tier fights.
High level low tier matches or random select matches are the ultimate forms of fun in any good team fg, even others than MvC. Like DBFZ, KOF, etc. Because team fgs usually have a bit more of tier whoring than 1v1.
I feel like there's always something new to learn about MvC2 when people play low/mid tier.
One of the reasons I enjoy watching Justin's channel is how much I learn from it. As someone who plays not only "low tiers" but also, low skills it's neat to learn what I'm doing wrong.
That Amingo/Ken corner combo ending in root and shinryuken got me hyped, that looked sick!

I have played MvS2 since the early 2000's and I loved that more than 2 decades later, I keep learning little things about this game from you.
That's a cool tidbit about the Jin post super mashing to get up. Didn't know that super worked that way - it's like Commando's Captain Storm super if you mash after you don't get OTG'd into another super lol some people just eat an extra sword for free for not knowing
I saw AnakarusCurse was in that chat. They're an EXTREMELY good and entertaining low tier player. Would love to see a full set against Justin.

for bison teleports, the indicator is where center screen is. since he has clones that are basically off screen on the left 1:48 you can at least know he crossing up. same with height, if the screen scales up a lil bit, you know its high

My go to "low tier" team has always been Juggy/Cammy/Hulk.
Power up Juggy and tag in Cammy. Cammy is the can opener, Head/Gamma Crush is the payoff. KBA is a wonky super, but it can do some really silly things with those two DHCs.

Love the low-tier play! And I suspect he picked Tron not for point but for her Y assist. That glitch damage is crazy. I used to have a team of Felicia/Tron/Cable that operated with that assist doing massive damage into Please Help Me with Felicia. Cable was there for obvious Tiger Knee AHVB, LOL.
7:53 thats crazy I didn't know that. I think Soul Calbur has something similar, at least SC1 did where you can move your character in the air kinda while they are getting hit to ruin combos.
So it seems MvC2 did it earlier... unless that was also in SC1, that im very unfamiliar with.
@@carlosaugusto9821 it probably goes back even further. I'm sure there's other games where you can mess around with your air trajectory while you are being hit.. a lot of games have wierd properties during hitstun, it's not Killer Instinct combo breaker stuff but can affect how you move or are in the air. I know in 3S for example, after blocking the tatsu Akuma is punishable, but he can choose whether he wants to be punished standing or blocking.
I can’t get enough of low-tier matches. Not only is it refreshing to see more characters, other than the overdone Storm/Sentinel/Cyclops/Cable/Magneto teams, but we get to see players show off great creativity and strategy with characters that have obstacles to overcome.
Japan footage is always the best. Like how u take a classic game and make it still relevant @Justin Wong. I hope Capcom wakes up and gets back to what good 2D fighting games can still be playable and fun.

When i was in high school here in hawaii, this one dude came to our arcade and straight merked everyone there using storm, t-bonne and amingo if i remember correctly. People were calling their friends to come down and challenge that guy but nobody could beat him and none of us ever saw that team before. I miss those days when arcades were still a thing back in the early 2000's

How does one play that his online against others?
Use to play this a lot back in the day at arcades and ps2. How do you play now? Console? Pc?
Justin I wanted your opinion on something. How would you feel about in a future update to Marvel vs Capcom 2, they allow for 4-on-4, or 5-on-5 battles. So the way that would work is to choose 3 fighters, then 1 or 2 fighters in reserve. You would start a 3 on 3 battle as normal, then once a fighter is killed the reserve fighter replaces him/her.

If this game was just a 1 on 1 traditional fighting game style It would just be so much more enjoyable I really wish that this game had a 1 on 1 versus option 2 out of 3 it would be so much more fun for not only casuals The assist button might as well be Yelling at your opponent or unplugging their joystick

I would highly suggest checking out MADDROO. Will take any chance I can to get their name out there.
They run Sim/Anakaris/Sent and puts up pretty good results at tournaments against some of the top tier MVC2 players (people like Martix and Viper).
His Sim is absolutely insane, and I am now low-key convinced that Anakaris is actually really good.

Speaking of "Low-Tier" & "MvC2," whoever thought it was a good idea to put Sakura there probably snorted you-know-what.
This whole thing is a little weird. I thought Sakura was considered to be pretty high tier in Japan? Seeing Sim is a little weird to me also, since I know many of the top tier players consider Sim to be just under the level of God Tier, and would be were it not for the insane execution required to really play him at that level.
Tron seems iffy to me too. I don't often see that assist not banned in this sort of setting.

Neva know what's gonna happen when its low tier. When Jw narrates high, he calls it play for play. Low tier is much different, seems to have more fun too, cuz of unexpected stuff. Seeing learning Jin got me hype. Most Violent Jin rye here on fightcade an ps3 for whoever want it. Imma run into him one day. I wanna fight top players to c where I'm at.
Why is M. Bison titled vega?
That's his Japanese name. Balrog, Vega, and Bison had their name change in the US version.
That's his original name decided by the japanese makers. It had to be changed just because of the western version, along with Balrog and Bison names. And outside of that Gouki turned into Akuma in the west.
Fear of legal issues mostly.
There was fear M.(ike) Bison could cause some legal issues with M.(ike) Tyson, the character he was obviously based on.
So they decided to swap the names around for the western release, and thus Dictator was swapped from Vega to M. Bison, Claw was swapped from Balrog to Vega, and Boxer was swapped from M. Bison to Balrog.
Which is why they picked up the names Dictator, Claw, and Boxer among the community to create some cohesion between the versions and prevent too much confusion.

I don't understand the decision to CANCEL Ruby's Hyper into Ken. It seemed like he probably could have gotten off the Pirate Ship Hyper Combo thingy. Feels like a waste, but then again I'm no Pro, so trying to understand.
I always feel sad when I see Amigo. There was a time I agreed with people that the character was stupid. Now adays, though, I am just BEGGING for characters like him in media.

He plays a lot of non Capcom fgs. And actually outside of Capcom he's played mostly SNK fgs: in the channel there are videos of FF, AOF, KOF and smaller SNK games like Kizuna Encounter, Last Blade, etc. It's just that lately there's a focus on his matches in Japan arcades, and indeed he played pretty much only Capcom which is his specialty after all.
