- It's not out of the ordinary to daydream about being with the one you love, so why is it when Cinderpelt dreams, she can only imagine Sandstorm? Can it really be "jealously" that Cinderpelt is feeling for the other she-cat?

Holy hell its finally done! I feel like I was on standstill with my life- couldn't focus on responsibilites or resting when i had such a strong desire to finish this video. I've had this idea sitting in my head for the longest while, and since i was waiting on more details about a PMV commission, i went back to watch the ol' storyboard and thought, "there isnt that much tweening, and its a short song. I can finish this easily!" i should just keep my mind's mouth shut cause holy dang look at the tweening i did. Theres so many mistakes that i couldnt be bothered to go back and fix, theyre more trouble than theyre worth! but it came out really good, just like how i envisioned in my head
So the song is quite literally about about wanting both a man you can't have and the woman he's with, but i mean COME ON~ listen to those lyrics!! "I want to taste her lips"? are you KIDDING ME? You could've worded that in so many different ways and you chose THAT? As someone who struggled with compulsory heterosexuality growing up, trying so hard to force myself to like boys when in reality I was girl crazy, this song speaks to me in that sort of way(kinda like that Jolene song), so im choosing to interpret the song that way, and I've always loved/projected on the idea of closeted lesbian Cinderpelt, so i planned this video a couple years ago. its MY way of coping!
So the video, in my head, goes: Sandstorm and Fireheart are major PDA ing in the camp clearing because They Can, and Cinderpelt struggles to push down feelings of jealously. This was apparent in Book 4 or 5 i think? When the two she cats have a little spat over spending time with Fireheart and he's like "haha whats going on?" cause he's too dumb to see. Cinderpelt is swept away in a daydream where she finds herself being swayed by the other she cat, but is interrupted by Yellowfang's voice, telling her to get back to work or go to sleep, which Cinderpelt promptly does. She struggles to sleep, her fears and insecurities manifesting literally in the warriors den where Fireheart and Sandstorm are probably cuddling and nesting together, a den where she cannot be due to being a medicine cat and her loneliness overcomes her, finally into a deep sleep. But again, her dreams of Sandstorm sweep her away and she indulges in the dream, finally falling into a fantasy that cannot be.
Eventually the dream comes to an end, fading back into reality where Cinderpelt wakes up alone and feelings of guilt and vulnerability overcome her and she hurries to leave her den. But upon stepping out, she sees Sandstorm and Fireheart waking up as well. She meets Sandstorms curious eyes, Sandstorm feeling quite unnerved by Cinderpelts feelings about her relationship with Fireheart, not wanting further negative confrontation. But Cinderpelt smiles to her, calming Sandstorms mentioned fears and she feels at ease with her interpretation of Cinderpelts "approval" of her and Fireheart, unknowing Cinderpelt has been developing romantic feelings of her own for Sandstorm. Cinderpelt realizes she's falling in deep and says put where she is, essentially trapped in her loneliness.
Though Yellowfang is there to comfort her, she's probably just assuming Cinderpelt still longs for the warriors' life, and even though it's more than that, Cinderpelt takes the comfort from her mentor. And fade to black!! its meant to end sadly, unfortunately all my ideas with Cinderpelt end sad when it comes to her love life, hopefully that changes tho fingers crossed

I love how you made Sandstorm look like some sort of popular, always-gets-the-guys type of she-cat. It just adds to the story. And also the end, I can imagine Yellowfang being a mom and comforting Cinderplet over Fireheart. Beautiful use of art storytelling!

I interpreted my first time watch this video without reading the description that Yellowfang knew what Cinderheart was feeling and she could relate to loving someone that she knew she couldn't have because she was a medicine cat also because she had competition (Foxheart) for the cat. Yellowfang also probably would've felt sympathy for Cinderpelt as well considering the pain Yellowfang had went through because she was a medicine cat. I'd much rather imagine that was how Yellowfang put together Cinderpelt's story.

I honestly adore the idea of this ship and dynamic. I adore Cinderpelt and the way she discovered her jealousy could be something more towards Sandstorm makes it even better. I love the art, so cozy and the lightings and just the way every character looks is amazing!

Hear me out, this song being "literally about about wanting both a man you can't have and the woman he's with" is a perfect fit, because CInderpelt thinks her jealousy towards Sandstorm is about Firestar. But actually, listen to those lyrics.... the layers.... she's actually yearning for Sandstorm but is so closeted she doesn't want to acknowledge it herself.
I LOVE how diverse and unique your designs are! I've never thought of Sandstorm with long features, like her muzzle. but it just works so surprisingly well?? And Firestar's design is so cute and fluffy when usually he's drawn with short sleek hair but him being a big ball of fluff works so amazingly well. Idk how you pull it all off but it just works so naturally

Really loved the slow, but very heartfelt feel this pmv gave! Really felt the pain Cinderpelt had in her heart, and just how much she really wanted to be with Sandstorm. The end bit is very nice with them giving a smile back at each other, and then having Yellowfang comfort her. Beautiful video that just really hits you in the feels. Also I just LOVE your Sandstorm design, it's just so different from most I see!

i love the idea that it starts out wishing she was sandstorm so firestar would love her and she could be a warrior...but through the jealousy of how attractive sandstorm is she ends up falling in love with sandstorm, first wanting her attractive life but then becoming attracted to her because she finds her beautiful and perfect.
Love that yellowfang is comforting her through this even if she doesn't fully understand why conderpelt is upset.
Fyi that's how I interpret the song! A girl jealous of another girls perfect life..perfect looks, perfect boyfriend, ect..but through the jealousy of finding her attractive and perfect it comes to realization it's not just jealousy but that she's attracted to her as well; she wants to be her and she wants to be with her.

coming back to this because this song was my bisexual awakening. I remember my mom would obsessively skip this song when it came on. I thought it was pretty neat they it was made in the first place as I only had this song and Katy Perry "I kissed a girl" but i didn't like the latter because of how blunt it was. This one kinda made me realize that yo.... The way I felt for my friend was the same way I felt for boys and that I indeed had a girl crush. That also being said, I really loved Cinderpelt so when I saw this pop up on my recommended I clicked so fast.

very cute and bittersweet story, the highlight for me was the big cat comforting the small one at the end. even though in the description you said the big cat Yellowfang comforted Cinderpelt for a different reason, for me it felt more like she knew of Cinderpelt's feelings. I wore my heart on my sleeve, and my family kept finding out who I was crushing for. I always remember my older brother comforting me as at the time I loved someone I knew wouldn't feel the same way, but I had such a hard time letting go of those feelings for the sake of our friendship. it took 3 years to get over it.
after 8+ years we are still friends and I've managed to put those feelings behind me, but this video reminded me of those times so strongly and how it weighs on your heart :')
Watching this again. Still love it, still makes me want to cry at how cute this is. Her expressions are just so great, I can really feel and relate to how she is feeling.

This video is beautiful. Also I'm glad I'm not the only one who ships Cinderpelt and Sandstorm! Especially in the canon books during the fire, Sandstorm continuously kept supporting Cinderpelt and staying by her side and comforting her, and since I read that I've been in love with the idea of these two together.
This animation really shows Cinder's feelings so well, it made my heart ache in sympathy for her!

This is sooo cute! I love your style of drawing cats so simple but so nice and pleasing to look at - Cinderpelt is an absolute cutie! The slow, calm, "everyday-nature" of this PMV is nice as well, gives you time to focus on the colorful drawings and emotions. Cinderpelt actually be a closeted lesbian is such an interesting idea that I don't see very often. Even if this PMV isn't supposed to have a "Happy Ending" but I still like how you made them smile at each other at the end - Sandstorm can still be her friend after all. (And OMG the addition of Yellowfang in this as her grumpy but understanding teacher XD)
