That's why you don't gas yourself too much in the first lap. He also gave himself up you NEVER do that no matter what place you're in the race just keep chugging along

#1 mistake by amateur runners - go out too fast! Last I checked the 1600m winner is determined at the 1600m mark not at 400m or 800m.
