there is some big rules in architecture… someone who just learn 3D software et rendering can make an building for sure, but the art of space creation is important to make the place absolutely comfortable for the users
Btw i do not think conventional architecture jobs are going anywhere. We will still live in a world that is very much designed by humans for human. But a lot of young architects and many other young professionals will soon start to gravitate towards the job of a virtual architect. This is ofcourse my take. Do let me know your thoughts.
A system that puts responsibility in the hands of teenagers is the last thing we, as a society and species, need, right now. Social media has shown us that nothing worthwhile comes out of something like that - quite the opposite. Life and human experience must always be the minimum requirements for influential positions. Your point about the average age of architects hits the nail right on its head. Age gives you the needed perspective and understanding that no amount of hormones or naïveté can compete with. Time is also the best tool to sharpen creative vision. A world built out of impatience, even if of the virtual kind, is a giant step in the wrong direction.
FInally, an Indian Architecture student is talking about Metaverse and its importance for Architects. I'm an architectural educator myself, who has been in academia for sometime now. But, when I try to start a conversation such as this, it is usually seen like an Alien concept. I'm liking how your channel is going ahead. Keep up the good work. Plus, I'm looking for a collaboration with you sooner or later. ;)
Nice video. If things goes according to what experts are predicting then the applications of #metaverse will be endless, thus in education, health, engineering and even in architecture as you've mentioned. Though most of the projects like #StepApp, #Sandbox, #AxieInfinity, etc on the market now are into gaming and virtual concerts. But since #metaverse is in it early stages, let's wait and see how it will turned out.
We need reality not virtual reality. Architect used to use their skills of drawing to sell their idea of buildings and cities. This new tool is not leading us to better solutions only down the rabbit hole and at the end their is someone making lots of money. Just my thoughts.
Virtual Reality is not real !! What's use of it?? Uptil world has not come over starve of hunger and can't feed the every person on planet 2 times food.. VR is for those who have pocket full of their needs rather flooding, And now they have to find how to relieve the boredom or come over sadness or do the brave / adverse things against their real life role & do the things that can't do as many times that illegal in real world... Crop production in Farm Ville Game and selling readu farm to other player at exchange of bartering things were some initial VR token converted.. I think only owners like Facebook, Sandbox, Decentraland will rule the others and their will again cut throat competition... Real World problems are not solved and VR world problem will start with threats as of in real world..
I feel in a similar way to architects in the past using comics to present their manifesto and outlook on the future/present state of architecture in the real world (yes is more, Bjarke Ingels) the metaverse may also be used as a similar tool/mouthpiece to present these ideas or beliefs.

In my opinion, Architecture graduates are finding it’s a big gap between education and practice because the education system hasn’t evolved to accommodate the changing nature and challenges of the architecture profession.
This video literally just make me angry about the world. It’s a shame that Meta exists and that human/architects are going to put time on designing sh*t in the Meta. Instead of trying to resolve the problem humanity has. If you want to make fun stuff do it for your own in Rhino or something, but don’t wast your intelligence in Meta. Meta is just another pinnacle of capitalist society.

I'm a licensed architect in New York & New Jersey and I'm wondering what the process might be to mint one of my 3d models / designs that I have already completed? I do I get a 3d model into this virtual/nft world? I have heard a little bit about decentraland, but I am very limited in my knowledge in this NFT space.
There's no gravity, not land space can be sold and houses doesn't have to be cubes anymore, an upside down pyramid or a levitating sphere could also be houses.

Loved it. In the years of my Architectural education been through that mind shift from doing a hand drawn presentation to learning new softwares and new experiences. Seen my teachers fear technology and instill the fear in students rather than being open to new experiences and creating confidence in students for learning something new. Would want more professionals in our field to be open to new experiences and exposure into virtual reality designs and buildings and accept this transitory phase without fear of the known. Because no matter what things are always going to change with technology and we have to learn something new every other day. Keep making such informative videos! Btw love Zaha Hadid's designs and work style. It's very futuristic designs with complex but functional structures!
If by middle of this Decade, VR sets become available like Smart phones did in middle of previous decade, then I guess it will be safe to assume that metaverse will be a a...... thing....... but for now......its a wild dream similar to 3D tv..... atleast for me
Yes that's very true. Social media blew up because of this very reason, the boom of smartphones, internet got cheaper and the sites were free. To achieve a new world with metaverse we will need the combination of all these three, with the smartphones replaced with whatever VR gadget is released. I think a big push will also come later this year when apple releases their pwn VR headset.

So there no particular education or course geared towards thia right now. Maybe there will be in the future. But for now if you can create great designs digitally and moreover work with fantastic forms then you can start pitching to clients who are buying virtual land and build virtual houses for them.
As an architecture office shifting now to virtual space development, I can rest assure that you need to look into game development industry. Proficient 3D modeling, Unity/Unreal Engine, basic coding - all these are core skills of Metaverse architects. Thanks to CZcams, tons of useful material already available to start now, as well as courses if independent studying and research are too hard. The last but not the least is excellent spatial imagination, same as with real architecture 🌺
You should do better research. 1) The metaverse is not “internet 2.0”… internet 2.0 is what made facebook… have you heard of “Web 3” that’s basically internet 3.0… which is the metaverse… 2) Oculus has never sold 2 million dollar headsets… I guess you’re talking about the 2 million dollars Oculus raised on Kickstarter at its conception.
