- As demands grow for Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh to step down and for President's Rule to be imposed in the state, our focus returns to the plight of the BJP's own forgotten Kuki MLA Vungzagin Valte. He was assaulted by a mob, his skull was smashed, and his son says he was assaulted "with electric shocks". For weeks, he lay strapped to a hospital bed. Barkha Dutt speaks to Mr Valte's son, Joseph and wife Moinu. They say, the Chief Minister, to whom Mr Valte was an advisor "called only once.. never again after that..". They also say they are struggling financially to treat their father, who is still unable to walk, or eat food by himself. Asked if the state has offered any financial assistance, the family says "Nothing.". Asked if anyone calls to check in on how he is doing, they say "only in the beginning.. not for weeks now." Mr Valte, one of the senior most MLAs in the state may never walk again. "I feel alone" says his son.

If the CM could not protect his Advisor who was now in helpless condition with bedridden for more than two & half months, it is very clear and behind imagination that the CM can bring back peace to the State and protect the Kuki-Zo peoples. Indeed Separate Administration to KUKI-ZO Community is the only solution. So humble request and urge to the Central Govt. to intervene on the issue immediately.
