This is an epic Albert Boris moment
It just got better
*seeing such a banger of a finale remix
* It fills you with *DETERMINATION*
DETERMINATION!!!! GOOD REMIX!!!
you are IMMENSELY underrated
Your not scared because, well you have probably heard this line.
Really love how you areanged Asriel's motif at the end. Great stuff!
the finale of epic sounding finale's...or is it...? I suppose we'll find out at some point this year, who knows, maybe Qmina will make a mix of all the references all his finale's have made, like neurovaniac, megalo strike back, another heartache reference, another his theme reference, who knows?....anyway Qmina this is great, can't decide if v2, 3 or v4 is my favourite, they're all that good, anyway yeah, art as per usual is great, music is great, and I love it, I believe this ones what made me like finale remixes, I never thought I'd find one that could sound better then the original, but this one proved me wrong, so that's when I started listening to(and loving) others, basically I'm saying you did great with this. well done
I love the extra motifs in your Finale remixes, they really add to the feel of the music.
*You can feel the FL Keys flowing through your body.
0:24 Gonna need more then some weed killer for this one
wow, this is really fantastic
Best one I ever heard
underrated
If only this was in the actual game...
Love the art for this good remix
It's amazing! :]
Absolutely amazing remix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
epic remix
We um... we skipped V3 I think
eh, I'm sure we'll get over it
anyway
This remix is... well, it's OK. I'll try and break it down in order
The intro with the piano is par for the course, all of your renditions have started like that and I love it, sounds great.
The rising melody after that with the synthy-guitar lead sounds good as well, it's a nice new direction from the piano and sets up the next part well, and part of what makes it so good is that really solid drum punctuating the section
The alternate melody section is where we start to see the issue with synthy-guitar lead, its relatively low pitch just doesn't carry very much energy, it's not so bad for this little 'his theme' interlude, but then...
We enter the buildup loop section and, man that synthy-guitar thing is just letting us down, the song is supposed to be in full swing right now, but there's just no energy in the main melody at all, and almost as important, we've gone and lost the balance in the drum line, I can barely make out the fact that the drums are still going in this section, they desperately need some adjustments to make them stand out more, otherwise the main melody is playing the game all by itself and it's not winning.
Next we've got the alternate melody giving us a break for a bit, (unlike the other stuff which is like 80% personal preference, this is 100% personal) I don't like that specific Asgore melody so I'm just inherently disenchanted by this bit
Back to the buildup loop again and here the energy issue is less pronounced, we just came back from an alt melody so it makes sense to have a low-energy bit here
Then we squeeze in some extra 'his theme' (to be honest I never liked the 'blunted' version of the motif that the original finale uses) and well, we used this motif already, I think 'reduce-reuse-recycle' is a terrible motto when it comes to music and we could've done better with some other motif in this space, you usually go crazy with the motifs so I just wanna say go back to that!
And then the main instrument just kinda peters out, which is a really weird choice, it's very interesting, I can't really decide if it fits a finale remix or not, but it isn't bad.
And then the piano takes over, which you could probably guess is my one of my favorite instruments so I love this part, it makes for an excellent outro and wonderfully ties everything together in the end.
Just the key components overall I think could be better, the drum line throughout the whole thing could be given a bunch more presence, if you listen to the original finale you can distinctly hear the drums during the buildup loop just as well as the main melody, I'm not saying you have to use those same drums, but I think that same level of intensity will help match the energy that the finale is supposed to have. The other thing is the main instrument, it's pitched too low for the roll it needs to fill, either a different instrument, or some significant tuning on this one would really help this rendition soar.
I tried to be as objective as possible here but.... well ya know that's literally impossible, there's a specific flavor of stuff that I'm gonna like in my music and it's obviously gonna be different than what everyone else wants, and as a result all of my feedback is designed to make you go in MY direction and isn't the law of the land or anything. But I really love your music and if there's any one thing I can do to take part in this endeavor of art, I hope some feedback can at least give you some new ideas!
Ah, thank u very much for the feedback! :D
Yeah, I do agree that it was lacking energy at certains points, I wasn't really sure what to do with them though so I just kinda left them to not possibly ruin anything hahsh
Might try to experiment a little more with that in the future! Same with the drums^^
Again thank u very much for the feedback! I always enjoy reading your comments :>
