ECO Vision - BPW's Revolutionary Lightweight Plastic Running Gear

By using the high-performance material, fiberglass reinforced composite (FRC), BPW's ECO Vision will in the future, achieve a weight reduction of 80 kg per air suspension module. The density of the material is lower than that of aluminium, with a strength higher than that of spring steel. The BPW Group has the necessary expertise for the design and processing of GRP through its subsidiaries ADETE in Karlsruhe and HBN-Teknik in Denmark. HBN now supplies both the truck and the trailer industry with heavy-duty composite components for vehicles. This future innovation was unveiled at the IAA 2016 and a pre-production sample of the running gear is currently being tested on the road.
