Man United throw away a 3-0 lead against Championship Coventry in the FA Cup semi-final before progressing to the final on penalties. While Man City also book their place in the FA Cup final.
Elsewhere, Everton beat Nottingham Forest in a relegation six-pointer on Sunday, but Forest’s full-time tweet about the VAR being a Luton fan dominated the headlines.

Podcast listeners severely missing out on the magnificence of Carl Anka's polo shirts...
The embarrassment for United has absolutely NOT only been limited to this past weekend.
It's the most embarrassing in the sense that they knew better than to celebrate, despite making it to a cup final.
Being too embarrassed to even celebrate is a rare thing in sport.
Richie McGraw(?) says the big rugby union fan
Embarrassing year for the PGMOL and the disaster called VAR
VAR isn't the problem. The V and A part are not an issue. It's the R, the stupid idiots sat in the analysis room who still seemingly haven't got the backbone to tell the ref on the pitch to take a second look. It's a fundamental problem with the rule makers of the game that they still think they might upset a colleague by telling them that they may have made a mistake. Having that clown Howard Webb in charge of it, the worst world cup final referee in history, is a big part of the problem
Gonna pushback on that VAR chat a bit. I don’t believe that it was ever sold as ‘we’ll get everything right’ - it was sold as ‘we will get more accurate decisions’. And by and large they have when compared to pre-VAR. I think it’s very disingenuous to suggest it was ever sold as some omnipotent refereeing which will never make any mistakes.
Heard someone online the other date state that nobody is actually interested in better refereeing, they just want decisions that benefit their team. And this completely informs the football fandom discourse on a weekly basis
*omniscient
it's strange that fans think that pre-VAR officiating was fine. The referees were making wildly inconsistent decisions back then too. The obvious answer is that the officials are incompetent. It isn't difficult to find better officials, the video footage they get to analyse over and over makes it really easy to get to the correct decision, but these idiots still manage to bollocks it up every week
Amazong podcast , great analyst
Yeah. We don’t watch the premier league in Coventry
This geezer could put a glass eye to sleep
PGMOL should be embarrassed, not Forest.
Well done to Forest for taking it up a level. Shit needs sorting pronto.
mate its mental.
we all know full well that refs have made terrible mistakes since the game began.
what evidence is there that the refs are trying to rig it so that luton dont get relegated? none.
conspiracy nuts are everywhere now.
How’s it embarrassing for forest? Surely another embarrassing weekend for the officials
yes the refs were shocking.
but accusing them of trying to fix the league to save luton from relegation distracts from that.
concentrate on their mistakes.
criticise their mistakes.
but leave the corruption conspiracy theories at the door.
5:10 This is why it’s bonkers to me that VAR is not used in all football matches. If this was a Championship match - Coventry would have won, how is that fair/consistent
It's more bonkers how the PGMOL is even in existence. They do nothing. Talk about a waste of resources.
Never a peno for Coventry. Poxed outa there minds
Why is it not OK for clubs to stand up to PGMOL. Enough is enough, all clubs and fans should unite to get rid of them. Ruining the game. Why should any club who complains be embarrassed?
Though I acknowledge my bias, Martinez was booed relentlessly for 120 minutes prior to the shootout with Lille - I think giving the crowd some back was perfectly acceptable!
People shush the crowd every weekend. Both keepers walked up to takers in the FA cup shoot out and nothing gets said. Pearl clutching.
Reminder Coventry penalty was never a penalty. They got lucky too.
lol utd fan complaining about refs
Behave. Of course it was a penalty.
Weird to admit that most of you didn't bother to watch one of the FA cup semi finals. Isn't this your job?
Does anyone know what James Richardson’s actual issue is with Manchester United because he can’t help putting the snidest boot in on every opportunity since 1997… asking for a friend
Probably denied him press credentials in 1993
Criticism is justified after the bad season they are having?esp. in pl
He is a Liverpool fan. It’s obvious. He never says anything negative about them .
@@arjitjere1559 not having that he goes too far when it’s not justified
he hates them for the same reason the rest of us do mate.
Just a reminder Utd won and are in another FA cup final.
What’s the point when they’ll lose
Bate Liverpool, City are beatable too especially when they'll play full strength team from now till end of prem when United can rest players and get players bk from injury!
An embarrassing weekend for match officials and paid off football pundits and writers.
