When we first met her she said that she went on a date once a year in exchange for her mother's silence on the matter. Also, it is entirely possible Penny has committed arrestable offenses (like shoplifting and underage drinking, or as an adult, supplying minors), and just not been caught.

Weighing in on the cat issue / #3. Sheldon is clearly having a mental breakdown. In reality, the "Cat Allergy" was probably something he made up to keep the apartment pet-free and clean. Hence why the rest of the characters are so surprised when Sheldon gets a cat - a sign that he's clearly having issues. Saying this is a plot hole is a bit of a stretch.

This video should really be called the Top 5 plot holes, since five mentioned were NOT:
    1. Sheldon didn't care about about Leonard sitting in his spot during the practice trivia scene because Sheldon was in his 'work' chair, rather than his spot where he usually eats. There is a scene where he says that he doesn't work in his spot and eat in his chair.
    2. Sheldon breaching the roommate agreement is not a loophole. He distinctly says on several occasions that he creates the roommate agreement to benefit himself.
    3. Penny's sister isn't a plot hole, they just didn't address her.
    4. Penny getting a job as a salesperson doesn't require qualifications in the same way as you would need for getting a technical job. She clearly has very good communication/people skills and connected with the interviewer, which is a very credible way of her getting the job as a salesperson (broadly, she only needs to remember the effects, advantages and disadvantages of drugs).
    5. Though I agree Howard probably wasn't in the best shape for space, he DID pass all the astronaut tests (i.e. when he survived survival training when he ate the butterfly). Further to this, when he was offered to go to space again for the second time, his health tests were all in check (i.e. blood pressure). Also, even though his mother and Bernadette came to help him, NASA didn't know that..

Actually, you are selling them to doctors. You visit doctors, and introduce them to your new med to treat this or that condition, and explain why it's better than the drug your competitor has to treat the same condition-- it has fewer side effects; it doesn't interact with other drugs; it is effective over a shorter period of time, or if it is for chronic conditions, it is safe to take for extended periods of time; it's oral, not an injection, or it's injected into fat with a tiny needle, not into muscle with a huge needle (less pain); the competitor's drug only works for 78% of users, our drug in studies worked for 97%. And so on. That is the kind of thing the rep needs to memorize, BTW.

Ineffectual, self-involved father -- who picks up a woman at his son's rehearsal dinner? Abusive room-mate. Needy friends -- and was Leonard ever really friends with Raj, or was he the friend of a friend whose sister he shagged for a while? Just to add because it always bothered me. In the episode where Sheldon is stuck on a physics problem and refuses to go to sleep Bernadette sends him to bed, when asked how she was able to do so by Leonard she replies something along the lines of ‘I’m good with kids, my mom ran an illegal daycare out of our basement’. In a later episode where Howard has to do a magic show for a kids birthday party and him and Bernadette are discussing whether or not to have kids she then says something about ‘being terrible with kids, all their sticky noses and whining’ I noticed it the first time when the episodes played back to back and I was so confused.

The actual reason for these plot holes, is that this show's ep's were not decided a year in advance like 99% of other shows. They are written usually on a week before that ep is due to air and no real thought is put into the sequence of events so a few plot holes per season now persist, not that the show writers care for them..... they're frekking millionair's by now anyways(BOTH... cast AND writers).

Also, there's MULTIPLE comic-cons in multiple cities just within the California area alone, and Leonard doesn't specify WHICH comic-con he got that sketch at (Anaheim, SF, LA...). Also, it's fairly obvious that the roommate agreement is just a cover for Sheldon to seem to maintain a measure of control; the truth is he's just looking for both friends and control, and the so-called agreement is just a psychological clutch he can fall back on if needed.

One more plot hole I noticed was about Leonard. In season 3, episode 14, when Sheldon gets a job at the Cheesecake Factory after he quits science, Leonard gives him a taste of his own medicine by being super picky about whatever's in his food. And one of Leonard's requests was that Sheldon put no cilantro in his meal. But much later in the series, in season 9, when Sheldon signs a contract to make sure he wouldn't make fun of Howard, Leonard asked if Sheldon should sign a clause for him, too. But then Sheldon asked if Leonard still liked cilantro, and he confirmed that he actually did.
