Art Nouveau Stained Glass Window Replicating

- Hi everyone. I've just completed the making of this rather funky Art Nouveau inspired window. This one is the centre panel in a 9 panel door set so there are 8 smaller, more simple windows surrounding it. I actually made this one as a replica window of an original made around 12 years ago (not one of mine). The original was in such a bad way and had fallen apart with damage. As I had 95% of the original glass at the workshop it was more cost effective to make a new one rather than stripping down/cleaning all the damaged window.
Super happy with the results, it came out looking 🔥👌
If your interested I'm always posting my projects on my social media channels:-

Renovations are the most rewarding.
Tbh I prefer new projects rather than repairs but it's good to keep on top of the skills required 🫶
Beautiful! Lucky there are some very skilled craft people around to keep traditions alive
Cheers 🙂🫶
You got style. 🌺 👍
Cheers 👍
I love watching these types of videos. I hope I can get a job like this too someday! That would be amazing.

Amazing how talented you are. Great idea having two copies of the design. Stunning work jan. Didn't know u should let cement rest before polishing great tip for us amateurs.
Cheers for the appreciation buddy 🫶🫶🫶🍻
Lovely work 🫶
Cheers 🍻
Love watching this process. Completely fascinating to me. Lovely job!
Thank you buddy 🤜💥🤛
Imponujące
Thank you 🧡💜❤️💛

Pozdrawiam z Polski, niedawno zaczełam przygodę z witrażem.
It's a great craft! Takes a lot of patience 💜🧡❤️💛
Trabalho lindo 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Cheers
Are the koi, dragon, owl and abstract blue lamp or vase at 3:58 your own personal things you made? I love the colors in the lamp/vase!
Everything in the workshop is either mine or my dad's work, cheers for the appreciation buddy 💚💙🩵
love your work! Maybe a silly question but do you have to clean these pieces after soldering? Does the cementing process cancel out the need for that? Asking bc with the copper-foil method, thoroughly cleaning the flux off is imperative for it not corroding almost immediately.
Thanks for watching, and yes the cement process cancels out the need to clean the flux off 🍻🍻🍻
What software do you prefer using when drafting up a design?
I spent a small fortune making my own design program a few years ago 👌👌
Beautiful, but I'm interested to know if you reused any of the original glass? If not what happens to the pieces please?
Not on this one, I had pretty much all glass that was originally used so I could cut it all fresh. The old window will be given back to the customer when he collects 👍
Приветствую. Город Сочи, Россия. Мастерская работа, интересно смотреть. Успехов
Cheers 🍻
@@LightLeadedDesigns Not at all.
Hii. Which brand of cutter do you use? I use Toyo brand. But yours cuts very well.
Its a Silberschnitt oil filled model but they stopped making them many years ago
Really glad to have found your channel Jan! Have you ever applied shading to the shapes within the designs? Curious to see your thoughts on that
Cheers for joining the CZcams. I've done alot of that sort of work in the past with ecclesiastical projects but it's so time consuming. I'm always super busy making projects so I try to specialise in projects without 💜
Hey Mate, Love the work. Im keen to know your tabletop material. Is it cork? Also, what type printer do you use to make the patterns? TY in advance for your time in responding. Peace!
It's just a chipboard type material bench top and I have a large hp printer, cheers for watching
Do you use writing to finish the process of cementing???
I use to use whiting in winters as the workshop was colder but I can't be bothered with all the mess now 😂
Amigo, podrías decirme dónde comprar un cautín de gas como el que tú utilizas para soldar el plomo.
Many of the supplier in the UK sell them but I don't know any that'll ship internationally, sorry buddy 🧡🩷💛

It's really neat to see this type of work, it's something I've always been interested in! Out of curiosity, what resources would you recommend for someone who was interested in learning this skill? I haven't found many resources on learning the glass leading/cutting/etc, and there is no one in my area that does this sort of work, so there are not really any people to follow around and learn from. Where did you start? How did you learn, and how long have you been doing this?
Sorry for all the questions, I just really am interested in this!
I was taught by my parents but they learnt from 'how to stained glass' type books.. Try to get your hands on a few books about it 👏👏
Would like to know to. What software is good to use in make the design.
I spent a small fortune making my own design program a few years ago 🫶
Was the glass damaged? Why replace the glass? Just curious. Love your videos!!!!
Quicker so more cost effective for my clients to just start a fresh 👍
On heavily textured glass, do you cut from the backside or mostly from the front?
If is super heavy like the clear textured in this project you definitely don't want to even attempt scoring the textured side, it would be a nightmare
What cutter do you use?
It's a Silberschnitt model but they stopped making them many years ago 👎
Is that a piece of wood or something else that you put up against the window when your cementing or cleaning the window???
Wood and a metal weight 👍
If you could answer, Question:
How and where do you create the paper pattern designs??
I spent a small fortune making my own design program a few years ago and I design every project to the exact sizes required 🧡💛💙
Thank you!
I'll have to research the program!
Your videos are great-- simple and instructional for those interested in stain glass!
Thank you again!
Hi handsome, is the metal used in leadlight still made from lead, or is it a modern day aloy of less toxic metals?
I did try to answer this question using google and Wikipedia. But to no luck.
No we still use that lovely 100% lead came 🫶🫶🫶
Okay, thank you for answering and for making such nice to watch content. 😍
