5:28 PM - #IFD #PTFD & #SFD firefighters were dispatched to 3649 Lafayette Rd with heavy black smoke visible for miles. Multiple calls to 911. On arrival #IFD reported a large "trash fire" behind a commercial structure with fire impinging on the 110 x 50 masonry building. Crews made a well coordinated attack on the blaze extinguishing multiple areas of fire, both outside and just inside the building. The inside of the structure was affected mostly by heavy smoke and water but contained food product and the Marion County Health Department was requested. The fire was marked under control in 48 minutes with no injuries. The cause is under investigation.
