    *MERRY CHRISTMAS*
    I know a lot of people probably asked santa for a 124019 so be sure to do these 3 essential things to make sure you have a fun and action packed Christmas!
    A lot of my inspiration to make this video came from the original 144001 3 essential items which has proved to be really popular on the channel so if things aren't clear on this one be sure to revert back to the old one as these models are essentially the same just a longer wheelbase!
    Have a wonderful Christmas and I will be seeing you all in 2021 where we will have an amazing year of RC on the channel!
    Take care, stay safe and enjoy your RC goodies (If you were good!!) 😎❤🥰😍

      I can't remember without going back and finding it, but did you take the toe in off the rear wheels on the 144001, and would you do it to this? 👍🏻

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC Před 3 lety +1

      Yes I did well spotted. That was actually in my optional things to do on the 144001 video! 100% as mentioned my intention is to go brushless and see how fast i can get this baby to and want everything to be as perfectly straight as possible. I will also be doing another vid demonstrating those optional things again but with this 124019 the rear toe, droop screws etc.
      Not essential for the running of the car but will definitely help! Expect that video very soon!
      Merry Christmas 🎅

      @@beyondRC I think there were 6 things I did to my 144001, the droop screws being one of the extra 3. 👍🏻
      My son loves his HBX16889 that he got for Christmas. Good job I ordered the oil filled shocks, as it handles a whole lot better with them. 👍🏻
      Merry Christmas to you and yours. 👍🏻

    Man.... I wish there was advice like this given on the 144001 back about a year and a half ago. It would have saved me a SHIT TON of grief and anxiety. I hated dealing with broken everything when the 144 1st came out and we did not have many replacement part suupliers, except for the LC racing parts cross reference, that didn't fit quite right back then. Funny how time changes everything!!! The helpful videos like this along with the fact that WL Toys started making essential replacement parts that were much needed to run these beasts of 144, 124 prefixes have MADE ALL THE DIFF'S MAN, THANK YOU!!! 👍‼️💯

Is this because of braking... maybe it won’t let me go straight from forward to reverse at speed to protect the gears?

    • @2wyldrc195
      @2wyldrc195 Před 3 lety +2

    I'm having great trouble taking the shocks cap off. When using the pliers, do you place it on the black plastic part or on the metal cap to turn? I don't want to snap the black plastic if it's not supposed to be taken off that way. Even trying with the metal cap, it's really tight. Have tried holding base end with another set of pliers. Just want to know the exact technique and placement as it's my first time taking shocks apart and everyone doesn't show their first few attempt on the 124018/9.

    • @beyondRC

      Take the spring off so its out the way. Grip the body of the shock and pliers on the metal cap and turn it should come off just be careful not to bend or break anything! Not sure why they are so tight on the 124019's as the 144001's came off quite easily.

      Hey welcome! So i only ever ran a metal kit on an RC once and found that they can help durability but where they make one area stronger on an impact the energy just gets sent to the next weak point and will break there so in fact what they are trying to solve they actually cause the same issue. Its like trying to fix one problem then causing another. Thats my opinion anyway but there are many different views on metal kits.

    When adjusting camber and toe, you should use gauges so that both sides are the same. Also when adjusting toe and camber you should twist the centre of the rod instead of unscrewing the end link.
    One more thing to adjust would be the ride height. This car comes from the factory set at a very high ride height. This adjustment can be made via the shock collars.
    Good info though, great job. Keep it up

    For speed runs also take out the toe in on the rear wheels, simple job by removing the 2 screws holding the metal plate at the rear of the chassis. Then turn the 2 plastic inserts that are held in the metal plate, these plastic inserts have 2 holes in each insert that hold the A arms hinge pins. By turning the inserts it moves the hinge pines further inboard & setting the rear wheels straight with no toe in.

      Not everyone has the budget for that which is why these cheap little buggies after some mods are great for the price. I just got the ARRMA Typhon V5 6s and with a decent set of Lipo's that costs almost 10x what this costs. Its great but very expensive for some people and not ideal for someone getting into RC which is where these cheap RC's shine! Thanks for your comment :)

      Use wheel bearing grease and add a bit of engine oil ...makes a good mix...thins the wheel bearing grease down ....should have constant lubrication with enough of flow in the diffs
