the funniest thing is that our VHS packed up cause a Peter Kay dvd got stuck in it, and is still there to this day. So he literally is stuck in our VHS player! 🤣

Ferguson videostar with piano keys top loader, spent friggin hours with one of those. Had a mate who went and bought a front loader.........it lasted 2 weeks, his little lads fed it toast and dinky cars.....he paid nearly £400 for this. LOL
Lolz……..my toddler did exactly the same in 1988…….I was glad I was only renting it because their service guy came and found the problem….no charge. 🤣😂

Loved that old Ferguson iron, you could actually fix them. Not that much ever went wrong, spent most days just replacing blown pilot bulbs and cleaning the heads.

@@jack_fm2751 Hi Jack. Sorry, no plans to at the moment. We've got some videos of the kids as youngsters on the Beta format from 35 plus years ago ( my oldest son reaches his 40th birthday next week). Not that we have ever retrieved it from the loft to watch, but that's always been the plan at sometime. Like a lot of people, I have plans to do this, plans to do that, but it never happens. There's loads of other things in loft that need sorting as well. When I get around to it, if I have a change of heart l'll retrieve your message and let you know. Thanks for asking. ☺
@@nigelbarrett4179 Keep it Lad, be worth something. Apparently Video Cassettes especially Disney ones are worth a fortune nowadays. Makes me wish I could go back in time and save the items that are worth a lot today.
We had a Phillips 2000, could only get videos from one shop, the one that rented Phillips 2000 machines!
I used to have my VHS tapes in those leather effect cases.. Blue tan black and red ones and had the little number stickers on front of each one.. Still got em actually

The really scary thing is all this seems only about 12 months ago to me. Anyone remember grabbing a Chinese takeaway then hiring a video from Jack Beanstalk to take home on Friday or Saturday evening ?
When dvd first came out, I remember visiting mum and after we watched a film she sat with her finger on the rewind button. It took me a while to convince her she didn’t need to do that anymore 😂
Ah yes, i remember also having to hold the play button for it to play because of course machines didn't know how to do things unless you kept holding the button. lol Not until the dvd came along, then they figured it out. Now they can rewind automatically. That was the big thing about dvd's. Automatically letting it rewind all the way back to the start. I mean, it's not like the big thing was that they can just instantly jump to the start or entire sections ahead. lol

I remember watching this with my mum. She’s been gone for 15 years now. I’ll always remember that memory laughing our heads off at this. I bet she would’ve loved to see him live. I managed to see him in 2010 at Manchester Arena

Seen him live at Blackpool and hale and pace, chubby brown, I met chubby back stage and hale and pace, both were great to talk to also seen jethro met him to , Danny la rue to. I recommend every one to go see a live show and enjoy a great laugh.

Dear me, if ever there was a time when we need someone like Peter Kay to cheer us up it's now. It feels like there is no bloody humour left in life these days. Everything's doom and gloom. Well if more people got vaccinated in the UK then you wouldn’t be currently having a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Britain opened up far too early, the virus didn’t care that people were sick of being in lockdown and impatient, it only cared about infecting as many people as possible, and the UK public helped it by not following the rules. Too busy moaning and whingeing about not being able to go to the pub, so lazy and irresponsible and now you’re paying the price.

We had our first VHS machine in 1983 when we were in Germany, remember watching Convoy on that. Remember the remote on the wire, about 2m long but at least it didn't go walkabout lol. Tandy, got our first proper computer from there.

Ah but Peter you forgot to mention when your Mum or your Nan arranged their ornaments on top of their top-loading video recorder and every time they pressed the button to insert or remove a tape the ornaments flew off and smashed on the floor, didn't you? Either that or they moaned that they couldn't stack anything on top of that same top-loading video recorder because it wouldn't work and they'd have to return it to the shop for repair because it was faulty. 👎🤣👎
