    Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
    Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
    Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
    I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.
    Just amazing to be part of this community, so check my Humans of Eurovision, check my Eurovision reaction videos.

    Personally, I don't find anything we haven't seen before in Kaleen's song either. It's a song called 'We Will Rave' (drips with cliche), and it's the most derivative 90s song you could come up with.

      @ds5379 To me, especially the instrumental after the chorus sounded like ABBA going techno… so when I found out about the Swedish songwriters, that made perfect sense to me 😅

    I feel like relying on back track like most artists do with the dancy tracks is kinda unfair in a singing competition. Even the Netherlands i had high expectations and he sounded terrible in the chorus completely using backing vocals. You have to deliver the song vocally no matter the type of song and how catchy it is.

    • @Crawzz
      @Crawzz Před měsícem +4

      And no hate to austria but her choreo seems nothing like malta she is doing hand choreo in one place mostly and is already out of breath how is she gonna do it for whole 3 mins😭. Meanwhile Malta is all over the place still holding vocals nicely.

    I think Eurovision should be more about hit songs and less about vocal talent. Ofc, you should be able to sing, but to sing one or two notes out of tune, fuck that. Eurovision is not “music idol” or “x factor”! Out of these three, my vote goes to Cyprus! :))

    • @JanBors
      @JanBors  Před měsícem +3

      exactly because its not an idol, the requirements for artists should be even higher, not lowered every year. This is our sales point, that we go with original music every year with exceptional talents. I would like Eurovision to be a dominant show, not show for artists without requirement qualities.

    • @FedeDiver1
      @FedeDiver1 Před měsícem

      What you said makes no sense…why should we hope for a lower quality and people who cannot even sing? It would be just thrash

    Kaleen ... I cannot understand why this is hyped. This a good song to dance to in a club, but for Eurovision? - Not at all. Just like people say that the German entry is a good radio song, but not suitable for Eurovision. The huge difference is: Germany actually has a good singer and Kaleen is relying too heavily on the backing track. It's all very focused on herself as key visual and highly sexualized, as if she has to cover up the fact she is not a good singer. If Kaleen qualifies and scores better than Germany in the final one can lose all faith contest, really. Then it definately has become a shit show like in the early 2000s.
    I'm also critical about the fact Kaleen is married to one the most known art directors at Eurovision. We've seen it in the past that people who have been promiment in the ESC bubble receive a better jury treatment. This has nothing to do with conspiracy theories, but just the fact that people know each other, have worked with each other bofore and of course talk to each other. Naturally, some jury members are biased.

    • @JanBors
      @JanBors  Před měsícem +1

      I actually dont care who has relationship with whom. This is a personal thing and should not be either of us thought at all.
      For the first part, its not my cup of tea but in compare to Germany (two absolutelly different songs) the performing side is on Isaak for me. He is an absolut blast on stage and could be also a briliant story if handled well.

  • @v.r.7139
    @v.r.7139 Před měsícem

    You lost the plot again. ESC is still a song contest, not a rising star. The main goal is to deliver closest to the studio version. During preparties many people who can otherwise sing are horrible. Great example is Czechia last year which turned out great at the end. Kaleen will obviously only minimally sing. She’s a dancer in the first place, not a vocalist. WWR doesn’t require much singing skills like a ballad and thanks to the rules she doesn’t really have to sing. See Blanka last year, who despite being trashed by everyone for her vocals still came top10 in televotes.

      bejba ❤

    • @JanBors
      @JanBors  Před měsícem

      yes as bejba was a joke act... it is always a matter of perspective, if we want Eurovision to become a contest of nations where skill of singing is unnimportant and our requirements are minimal, than ok - but the contest will eventually loose its power, it will be a joke contest like in 2000s. Or our requirements for artists will rise and countries will start to take this craft and skill seriously once again. Its up to producers in each country

    • @nezege5824
      @nezege5824 Před měsícem +1

      Yes, the Eurovision Song Contest is primarily about music, but a major reason artists participate is for global exposure. Numerous artists have seen their careers soar after appearing in Eurovision.
      I believe it's essential to reintroduce juries in the semi-finals to ensure both balance and higher quality. Without the juries, some entries that deserve to advance to the grand finals may not succeed, and vice versa.

    • @JanBors
      @JanBors  Před měsícem

      also broadcasters should be much tougher again in sense what quality is. We are softening so much that the product is suffering. I agree with juries. Just this decision will affect the quality as people might like bejbas but makes the show irrelevant as skill and craft are the qualities no one care about

      @@JanBors I appreciate your professional point of view but as a fan, and a Croatian fan at that, mine is very different.
      Eurovision was such a big deal here in the '90s, especially after Riva from Croatia won. But after Marija Magdalena in '99. the whole Dora became a joke.
      Back then everyone was watching it and after, in the '00s it was like no one ever did. No one took it seriously. What made it even worse was the way they took them selves seriously. Take Jaques for example, he sung My Friend. It was so bad. Even today he inserts himself as a Eurovision expert with coaching singers for Dora. The songs he pushes are in the Doons niche but Doons is like Celine Dion for Jaques Dora favorites.
      It is only with Albina (which in my opinion is like Bejba but without the final) maybe people started to notice Dora more and with MamaŠČ folks really got invested because Let3 is just that BIG of a deal here and folks loved it.
      And now we have Baby L. Maybe not your cup of tea - song vise. But people love him and they watch, read about Eurovision, comment on social media. Dora and Eurovision have Croatian audiences attention again.
      Some counties will never have the professionals to pull a Sanremo. Or Melodie Festivalen. Our music (the one that people push in Dora) is just garbage.
      If Croatia wanted to have the kind of music you wish for Eurovision - we couldn't because honestly I don't think we have producers or songwriters that are good enough (and interested in Dora)
      And if we maybe did, people wouldn't watch it if they don't somehow feel connected to the songs.
