This is what I’ve always done, aim at the flight with my second and third darts. Great tip Davie hopefully more will learn from this
When you consider this video was filmed about 7 years ago its stood the test of time i was gobsmacked at how relevant it still is.
Here's my small contribution. I always use a light colored flight, dark flights don't stand out against a black backdrop. Gives me something better to aim at.
Couldn’t be more right I went from black flights to bright red and it changed my game a lot easier
For me this works. Notice that i struggle with dark flights, but white flights work great for me to aim. I'm going to give neon flights a go and see how they work.
I do this I used semi transparent flights.

Just getting into playing darts, have always loved watching but never really played. Its really disheartening when you dont hit many trebles. I started doing this tip and it definitely builds confidence when you see that tight grouping regardless of what it landed in 👍
Literally been throwing darts at my board for 2 years and had the biggest improvement ever by watching this. From avg 26 to 80+ in 5 mins. Now want to watch the rest!!
Hi Steve buddy it's obvious you have been doing just a small thing wrong and having the right technique is paramount to long term success. I absolutely believe there is a right way to do everything and i also believe i have found that way by over two and a half years or research and development and then well over a decade of field work proving its worth. Thanks I simply set about finding the right way to throw darts. For some crazy reason no one before me considered there must be a right way to chuck. If there is a right way to throw a cricket ball rugby ball discus or a right way to stand eg boxing stance golf stance and a right wat to swing a golf club tennis requet then as night follows day there must be a right way to stand address the board and throw a dart. I spent two and a half years finding researching and developing that way the DD way

I agree with this 10000 percent. Especially if you’re using condor axe flights. It’s magic how it deflects onto a tight grouping everytime

I’m getting better, had my first 180 last week but just struggle with consistency daily. Any tips please to take it darts to the next level? You’re very good
great tips. my issue is the first dart not going in the treble 20 & then i over compensate lmao
I always have a terrible 3rd dart. I have to try this technique later today.
Practice with 6 darts your brain has associated the third dart with a lack of focus so if you practice with 6 darts the third will become lass significant and it helps massively with your rhythm and grouping. Cheers D Dave...

Yep i have to say i do like the Price darts i used them for about three months and had loads of very good averages they fly great and are very balanced to.

Hi Johnny you will find it's more to do with your release or your swing than flights n stems. But if you want to tune up your darts there is a video on my channel about that. Just go to my main page click videos tab and then type darts tune up 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎🎯🎯🎯
How do you stop 2 things which my throw has, the wrist twisting in the release( which makes it go left)? and the bicep tensing up in the release,( this sends the dart down). When I'm loose and relaxed ,grouping is great , but one or the other creeps in, like every 6 shots.
my best is 170 on the 20's
and 2x25's and a bull to checkout. Amazing feeling That!
It seems quite obvious to me you have release anxiety and its far more of a mental part of your throw than physical. this happens when you overthink your throw you have to turn off and trust your body. one way you may find helps is by practicing with six darts. Relax stop thinking of the throw and just plop the darts into the board with no target in mind and no thinking involved.

Any recommendations for good shafts? so i dont go break them all the time
Hi Buddy how are you breaking them bounce outs or robin hoods. if its bounce outs your looking for a tough shaft like carbon. What do you do if you hit the 1 or 5 with the 1st dart surly you dont want to aim for the flight then?
If your practicing you should but common sense should tell you not in a match however if you hit the 60 or close dam right you should. 😉

This is awesome advice but I might not be ready for it because my darts aren’t hitting the board straight like yours. Somehow I’m getting a bit of a wobble in the dart’s flight so when they hit they are angled up, down, left or right. This creates some unpredictable deflections if I do happen to tap the target dart. 😢
If you do the DD way film yourself with your phone from the front place the phone or camera just under the board right in the middle. I bet you are still bringing the dart back towards your eye and as your arm goes forward on the swing your forearm is not going in a straight line once you master this your darts will fly like arrows straight and true. Make sure your board is leveled perfectly. Mine used to do the same found out one side was out a bit more

Me who Robinhood my darts and splits the flight or shaft like once a week 😂
L style flights and shafts. A little more expensive, will last 20 times longer. Throw everyday, have had the same flights and shafts on for 6 months.
I draw an invisible 60 in the air right infront of my eye. And people use an invisible line when they bring the dart up.

Ok, my first dart always lands random in a 1, 13, 4, 3, 6, 2 or what ever so I throw the second Dart like you menioned to the flight of the first dart but for me make no sence to hit a 1, 13, 4, 3, 6, 2 or whatever again 😂😂😂

O yes it does because you have to get your grouping right first then move it around not the other way around.

I'm a beginner and have found that I'm left eye dominant but right handed. I'm in no mans land with my aim and don't know what to do!
I found that if you move closer to your left eye in the aim, it should help. Don't compensate with the throw that stays the same. I hope this helps you but it may take a little while to get the right spot. Good luck. 👍

No i am a coach not a player just like every other coach only about 1% of top coaches in any sport have been world champions i chose to teach but if you ask anyone who plays with me regularly i have nothing to prove buddy so my advice take it or leave it.
Like almost every video I've seen on darts, this is great advice if you don't have a problem hitting a bed shot. It's miles above being useful if you actually suck like I do. :D Still cool technique for when I eventually get good enough to put 3 darts in the same number consistently.
So after watching this I found your videos on the basics. THAT'S exactly what I was looking for. Already improved my consistency in the first few hours and now I have a foundation to build on that doesn't keep constantly changing. 💯
I once played a match and did not score a point for 9 darts. I hit the 60 wire all 9 darts. That sort of finished me. not thrown a dart for 30 years now.
The wires on modern boards means the chance of doing that again is lotto odds get a board and some darts Start off in the DD way and you will be in love with the game in no time. D Dave...
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn I played super league area to area,, I played RICHIE BURNET and won in 14 darts throwing first i leg. HEwas right on my tail though. . I played GEORGE NOBLE many times. A very likeable guy. I am old now with a tennis elbow problem from golfing. THROWING A DART will not be feasable with this ailment. I enjoyed the dart scene but the drinking ruined my life.
My group that I play with calls a trip 1 (yes, I’m from the US) a “social”. Everyone playing darts has to take a drink.

Side note - you said to email in lower case. Just know that isn't a thing. Lower or upper case, it won't matter. No one will ever have you same email address but in all caps etc. None of that matters :)
