  • This easy to tie indicator is, to my mind, the best competition legal bung you can tie. It floats well, is highly visible and doesn't twist. Because of its shape and the contrasting thread head, this is ideal for picking up fish that take your flies on the drop. It is also ideal for waking in the surface to attract fish to the team of flies which often elicits a take when the retrieve is stopped. Materials list
    Hook: Kamasan B170 size 10
Thread: 6/0 or 140 denier in a contrasting colour to the foam
    Body: Closed cell foam block

Cracking pattern, I’ve been using carp boillie’s with a hook in it and hopper legs and dubbing. I’m going to try theses with a wee bit of dubbing underneath. They’re a bit like an elevator booby without the eyes. Loving the channel by the way👍🎣🎣🎣

Any veniard stockist will have it.
I'm based in Japan, so I generally order these blocks online.

Pretty cool design Martyn. How is the bung and the following flies tied in? I'm familiar with hanging a nymph off a dry fly hook. Thanks.

This is attached on a short dropper so the sinking nymphs pull down on the eye and make the bung cock

Martin. If the closed cell foam you buy is 25mm (1 inch) thick, how do you divide it down to 7mm square shaped pieces to tie the fly?

I cut it with a kitchen knife, just make sure it's a sharp knife so you can get through with one smooth motion.

@@FlickingFeathers thanks Martin, I am waiting for some 25mm foam but in the meantime I had a bit of a practice with some 7mm pre cut tubular foam which looks great but might not work as well as yours.

Nice! Would these work for warm water droppers say for panfish?
