  • The world of Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps are starting to blend. Command bars allow you to inject buttons using JavaScript or Power FX into your applications menu. These can interact with any number of tables. In this video, Brian shows you how to create your own Power FX button in the command bar to perform what was previously something complex.

Great tips, thank you! Is there an easy way to call an existing power automate cloud flow from a custom button? Right now I'm using business process flows, but this seems like it would be much more streamlined.

Firstly your videos are amazing. Learnt a lot from you. Thank you very much. Can you please make a video on how to make a microsoft list column accept unique value submission from form but if values submitted second time from form.. . It gets updated (it replaces old data) rather than making new entry..for example if I have an order number..new submission should not create another entry with same order number but update all the the other details/changes of that order number

    Nice end-to-ender!
I was trying to do the exact same pattern but with the Command button on the Payments table's Subgrid on the Loan Form, rather than up top in the Loan Form.
However, I can't seem to get the context of the Loan (one) because the Command button is associated with the Payments table (many). Even though the Command is launched off the Loan Form it is appears that it is really launched off the Payments table, because it's a Subgrid View associated with the Payments table, albeit used by other tables' Forms.
When used on a Subgrid, the Self.Selected.Item doesn't seem to point to anything i.e. there's no data context.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

When selecting to edit a subgrid, I can change the command bar like this.. But when clicking on items, a edit command bar replaces it. How do I put a button on this edit command bar?

A few tips on making videos. It's creepy to have such a closeup of your face.
Also having the music so insanely louder than your voice annihilates people's ears who wear headphones.
