Eminem is the most intelligent rapper out there. he knows how to translate feelings, fear, hate and much more into words and doing it in an amazing fashion. You can feel his pain in the song and can relate to it. he is not afraid to show that he is a human being and he can get hurt like everyone. amazing song!

He didn't even write this. Matthew Darey, Richard Louis Simmonds, and Stephen Christopher Jones are the people listed as the songwriters. Marshall Mathers isn't there
You know what I find sooo awesome about Eminem? There were so many different parts of my life that were difficult for me to get through and while they all had different levels of severity and circumstance, through this song, he taught me the root of these particular issues and taught me how to fix it. I almost feel guilty because of how he lived life on the frontlines of verbal, physical, mental, and drug abuse but I’m fortunate enough to be able to learn through his beautifully creative imagination that he most definitely suffered a lot to achieve. Idk just my two cents
This is the song i listen to when i feel like no one gets me all that much. Its just so relatable for no reason, even though most of us probably won't go through the pain he did.
Saddest thing about this song is when i was little i didn't understand any of the songs but i loved them but now im 17 and it's more understandable which makes me love the song even more since all of us has been in his shoes it's sad as we grow up... edit wow I've never had this many likes before!! Thank you all! Update 2022 I have been struggling with depression and anxiety with my condition but I have been working hard throughout the ups and downs with sports in Arizona and just yesterday I have been offered a spot on a college team in mesa much excitement to come in the future!! Update!! It's been years since I've posted this comment. I'll keep it short, it didn't work well in college due to depression and our coach was an asshole so but luckily I had liver failure which led me out of continuing there, it was there I had a few friends who were professional players for MILB and MLB who I went out with and loved it so I started training there, that was a year ago, today I'm working with MLB players and just had a workout in Cali with MLB orgs and here in AZ I work with driveline, momentum making good vids and good money!!
I really admire Marshall for this song. I really do! Talking about depression can sometimes be hard. This song is telling us it’s okay to talk about your issues and that you can bounce back from whatever you are going through! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hope the best for you! Don't be ashamed of speaking up. There is no 'great' and 'mediocre' in measuring issues. A kind doctor will overlook noone. Jesus heals us all!
Eminem’s best song by far. I am from Hartford, another city that was once wealthy and important, but was terribly hit by deindustrialization and urban decay. Walking these empty streets, you get a very similar feeling. This metaphor hits hard, but it’s true. Detroit is beautiful in its own way, and should be proud of what it accomplished in its long and troubled existence. And so should all of us. They can all get f, just stay true to you 🤘🏻

I haven’t heard this song in YEARS since I was in middle school & it instantly brought tears to my eyes because j was too young to understand the lyrics at first and now here I am living the life he’s talking about
My favourite Eminem song till date. This was the first Eminem song that I listened to and boy I've been Eminem fan ever since. This song is my therapy. Every single verse every single line that I can relate to. Beautiful has given me the courage to fight and keep fighting. Em 🐐
Damn, this is goosebumps... There was a tough period in my life (about a middle school) when there was no one to ask an advice what to do and how to behave. Then this song came and helped me to get through. Em said: "Stay true to yourself. Let them say whatever they want to but have your own head on your shoulders. No matter where you live and how abandoned you feel, you'll break through it." And I felt like Em was the only person who "took" my issues seriously sharing his experience. At that moment I believed that there are same-minded people somewhere else, even if it's far away. Thanks a lot for downloading the explicit version and reminding me that I have to keep going. \_(-_-)_/
I'm going into middle school. I feel the same way. I have no one to ask for advice. Heck no one there even likes me. They call me names and talk crap on my family. Its like they try to make me mad. But I can't do anything about it. I'm to awkward. This song helps with my depression and anger issues. But mostly it helps me believe that it don't matter what the kids at school say.
Fighter Killer thanks for the support but unfortunately I've been damaged for so long and it's so bad that I really don't know how to respond to most positive comments. It's hard for me to swallow my fears and admit that.
Fearless Kid I forgot his name but here was a actor/comedian who was very depressed not by bullies but he still was really damaged like you are but he never stopped he made everyone laugh and he was very successful but one day he gave up and took his life unlike what you should do just because everything is going wrong doesn’t mean It will stay wrong keep your chin up and everybody except 1 person has at least 1 fear so don’t think your on your own
Алексей Кулаков man It was the same for me in middle school I had a lot of problems at home and I started to hate life and myself this song helped me a lot

every time i feel down, sad, broken, alone, defeated.... i come here and to many other eminems songs... they give me comfort and i can relate to them, they give me hope that i can overcome everything no matter how hard it hurts me
This is truly my go whenever i need for Fam to feel me. I played this for my son when he was in the 9th grade... I heard him play it on a loop for two hours. I was listening baby boy. He lived by this too from then on. He died last March in a motorcycle accident 10 days after his 27th birthday. RIP My only son. 3-9-96 ❤ 3-18-2023. I listen to this at least 4 times or more a week. I put this song on his FB page. Just maybe Fam might listen.
I miss him

This tune will allways be special to me. When I was at my lowest battling drug addiction this song helped me through so much. I can relate to it a lot. 2 years clean now still going strong.

This song hits hard. My grandpa died a few weeks ago and this song has been my anthem to my soul since his passing
If this isn't one of your top 5 eminem songs, no worries I respect your wrong opinion
Lol xD
its on 2nd st is for space bound and 3rd is for 25 to life
I think the same 😂😂
even if it is off one of his worst albums I do believe its one of the best
I can't even have a top 5, he got so many good songs..
If you do not think Eminem is one of the greatest poets of our generation you just simply don't understand his music. Period.

I’ll be honest, this song is evergreen. I wouldn’t be surprised if people listen to this even after 50 years.

Over 10 years later & this song still hits like it was just released

You're right
Hope the best for you!
They can all get f, just stay true to you 🤘🏻
“I’m not looking for extra attention, I just wanna be like you”. ❤️❤️❤️

Christ can you fuck off already
100%
But eminem made the song
Carisa Wilson Marshall is his birth name
Lately I've been hard to reach
I've been too long on my own
Everybody has a private world
Where they can be alone
Are you calling me, are you trying to get through
Are you reaching out for me, and I'm reaching out for you
I'm just so fuckin' depressed
I just can't seem to get out this slump
If I could just get over this hump
But I need something to pull me out this dump
I took my bruises, took my lumps
Fell down and I got right back up
But I need that spark to get psyched back up
In order for me to pick that mic back up
I don't know how or why or when
And I ended up in this position I'm in
I starting to feel distant again
So I decided just to pick this pen
Up and tried to make an attempt to vent, but I just can't admit
Or come to grips, with the fact that
I may be done with rap, I need a new outlet
I know some shits so hard to swallow
And I just can't sit back and wallow
In my own sorrow, but I know one fact
I'll be one tough act to follow
One tough act to follow, copy, one tough act to follow
Here today, gone tomorrow
But you have to walk a thousand miles
In my shoes, just to see
What it'd be like, to be me
I'll be you, let's trade shoes
Just to see what I'd be like to
Feel your pain, you feel mine
Go inside each other's mind
Just to see what we find
Look at shit through each other's eyes
But don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh
They can all get fucked. Just stay true to you so
Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh
They can all get fucked. Just stay true to you so
I think I'm starting to lose my sense of humor
Everything is so tense and gloom
I almost feel like I gotta check the temperature in the room
Just as soon as I walk in
It's like all eyes on me, so I try to avoid any eye contact
Cause if I do that then it opens a door to conversation, like I want that
I'm not looking for extra attention
I just want to be just like you
Blend in with the rest of the room
Maybe just point me to the closest restroom
I don't need no fucking manservant
Follow me around, and wiping my ass
Laugh at every single joke I crack
And half of 'em ain't even funny like
Haha Marshall, you're so funny man, you should be a comedian, god damn
Unfortunately I am, but I just hide behind the tears of a clown
So why don't you all sit down
Listen to the tale I'm about to tell
Hell, we don't have to trade our shoes
And you don't have to walk no thousand miles
In my shoes, just to see
What it'd be like, to be me
I'll be you, let's trade shoes
Just to see what I'd be like to

Go inside each other's mind

They can all get fucked. Just stay true to you so so
Don't let 'em say you ain't beautiful oh
They can all get fucked. Just stay true to you
Nobody asked for life to deal us
With these bullshit hands we're dealt
We gotta take these cards ourselves
Flip them, don't expect no help, now I could have either just
Sat on my ass and pissed and moaned
But take this situation in which I'm placed in
And get up and get my own, I was never the type of kid
To wait but I know to unpack his bags
Never sat on the porch and hoped and prayed
For a dad to show up who never did
I just wanted to fit in, every single place, every school I went
I dreamed of being that cool kid
Even if it meant acting stupid, Aunt Edna always told me
Keep making that face till it gets stuck like that
Meanwhile I'm just standing there
Holding my tongue up trying to talk like this
Till I stuck my tongue on the frozen stop sign pole at eight years old
I learned my lesson and cause I wasn't tryin to impress my friends no more
But I already told you my whole life story
Not just based on my description
Cause where you see it from where you're sitting
Is probably a hundred and ten percent different
I guess we would have to walk a mile
In each other's shoes, at least
What size you where? I wear tens
Let's see if you can fit your feet
In my shoes, just to see
What it'd be like, to be me
I'll be you, let's trade shoes
Just to see what I'd be like to
Feel your pain, you feel mine
Go inside each other's mind
Just to see what we find

Fearless Kid fuck em you just got to prove your better than them
Fighter Killer thanks for the support but unfortunately I've been damaged for so long and it's so bad that I really don't know how to respond to most positive comments.
This song helps me a lot going through my teenage phase with bullying at school and rude parents
Don't worry, everything will be better be patient ❤
Laugh at the bully's
People that is laying in bed at 1 am. listening to this masterpiece.
