John Carpenter, who directed "Halloween", went to Western Kentucky University where my wife and I got our degrees. Mr Carpenter drew much of his inspiration for the setting of "Halloween" from the general area around WKU. I live in a little town about 14 miles north of the campus called Smiths Grove. It's the hometown of Michael Meyers .
