Lyrics:
She's waiting for another love.
She's waiting for another love.
She's been waiting for another love,
Someone that she can show into her heart.
And when she finally finds a stronger love,
Your whole world's gonna fall apart.
Chorus
You've been abusing her for far too long;
Think you're a king and she's your pawn.
Get ready now, 'cause pretty soon
She'll be gone and you'll be on your own.
Chorus
I see the hunger burning in her eye;
Any fool could see there's something wrong.
You keep pretending not to care,
But I will hear you sing a different song.
Chorus
Waiting for another lover,
Hoping for the time that she'll find another... - Hudba
My absolute favorite Eric Clapton song....So underrated !!!!
She's waiting, Circus left town, Bad love, White room, Bell bottom blues, Pretty girl, My father's eyes, Layla and Wonderful tonight❤
Rad, I think about the Beatles and Eric Clapton which are the good songs? Which are better than the others?
He's greatest song followed by Bad love and Layla; just my opinion because off the octive changes. I agee with you Rad Grrl!
I have to disagree. Listen to white room, crossroads, Layla, the core, and then listen to this. You'll think, wtf?
Yup this and the core. And a couple others. Dudes legend.
No music in this day and age will ever ever replace music like this!
Amen!
He's the ultimate 😍
omg so right but nobody can compete with Clapton hard to do
No,it most certainly won't,this here's the real deal.It doesn't get any better than this.John M Guinto
Facts!!! People will be looking back 150 years back and saying why can't we have been making music like this instead of this bullshit?...
this song reminds me of riding in the backseat of my dads ford bronco, with a blanket over me, falling asleep listening to my parents talking...eric Clapton will always bring me back there. such a comforting feeling.
Hello Lauren
How are you doing
Thank you for your love, support and for being an amazing fan!❤️
It's nice meeting you here
it was in the evening in 1986. i was 11, my dad had just had an operation on his shoulder so we were visiting him in hospital. my mum let my sister drive our new (second hand) Honda. never had a tape deck before. my sister put this in and cranked the volume. i was slightly terrified...............
Your sister has excellent taste in music!! ❤
And In Love With The Day And Age
Jamie Oldaker on drums, Phill Collins on Simmons drums & snare, Ray Cooper on percussion, Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass, J. Peter Robinson on synths, Chris Stainton on snyths & Hammond organ, Marcy Levy Detroit & Shaun Murphy on background vox, & you-know-who on all guitars....
Voldemort? Gods, he's so talented!
Pretty sure PC produced this too
And the flute/whistle?
Thanks, Dr. Wikipedia.
Great Eric Clapton song!!! I forgot how good this song was, great background vocals, ❤❤❤❤❤
and don't forget those drums too
....that moment when the harmony back up singers hit the key change.......that’s just yummy- Thank you Mr. Eric Clapton.🎼🎶🎸🎹🎤❤️😎
Arguably Clapton at his best. Great vocals, great production (back-up vocals), and tasteful guitar work. One of my favorites.
love the back up singers
10-4
No doubt, Clapton is a once in a lifetime treasure.
This song got me through the most horrendous event of my life! Thank you Eric!!
I'm not worthy...
Every one is worthy.....
Everyone except James Worthy
@@donnamosby1986 Of course you are. I'm glad you're still with us. Please stay healthy and safe!
@@danm9390 I take it you read the "Showtime" book as well ("I'm Worthy of James"; what bogus). Ha ha, what Peter Vecsey said about Worthy always having trouble scoring against with double teams when he was busted in that Escort Service sting. Great player, but it turns out he was Worthy of intentional comedy along with hubris.
Always loved the Fife n Drum ending, top this awesome 80s song. It was also in Miami Vice.
I was 17 when I got to see Clapton for the first time and it was completely amazing and I will never forget it! I always wished that I grew up in a different time, they just don't make um like they used to! CLAPTON IS GOD!
I saw him at the Lakeland Civic center in Lakeland Florida.in 1985. It was one hour away from where I lived and we barely had enough gas money! They opened with this song and it is my fav on this album Great memes. Great era, AND GREAT TIMES!
Thanks, Kat! ;p
Brian J. Carnevale awesome! Such an incredible song. If I had to pick favorites, this would be #2 and Bellbottom blues #1. But if we remove Derek and the Dominos or Cream, than yep this one is #1 and forever man #2. Actually, now that I think about it, Behind the sun was absolutely incredible!
@@therealghostgirl Very nice for you to reply Young Lady! Bell Blues is right up there. I really like the song he did with Sting, its called "probably me!" I have a playlist you might like on my page.
Good Luck! ;p
Brian J. Carnevale I’m definitely going to check it out! I was born a few decades to be honest. The Beatles, Clapton, Tom Petty, Stevie Ray........that’s my style. 😁
This guy ALWAYS has a great song for every moment of a highpoint and lowpoint in my life. Or is it just me....
No. It's not you. He touches the core of my being. Makes me laugh. Makes me cry. His music, and others, can change my entire mood, from dark to light or light to dark. Music, coming from the soul, is VERY, VERY, POWERFUL stuff, my friend.
So True!
Yep agreed
Robert Stroud, I totally agree. In fact I aim to make music, the same way
Although, of course, my funding is not quite as good
Eric Clapton plus Phil Collins on the drums equals one hell of a phenomenal song. 👌🏻 ❤️
Love the piccolo solo at the end always makes me nostalgic for a long lost childhood feeling
One of the best guitar players. I love singing the background vocals! "She's wait-ing!"
Totally agree.
He's a legend and I never get tired if his songs
Once I started learning guitar, inspired by meeting Bonnie Raitt and her whole band after a show in Boise, ID Summer of 1995, other than a Blues cover Raitt did (Round & Round) I took Clapton in to my instructors and said: "I want to know how to play like *that*!" and I got all of his back catalog. The most fun for me though is grabbing an acoustic and playing along with "Unplugged". Nothing like takin a ride (soloing) along with EC and Andy Fairweather Low.
I am really impressed there are so many musicians I admire and he is at the top of my list. It must be fun playing acoustic and I too play 2 instruments, violin and the piano. I have always had an interest in guitar. I saw Bonnie Raitt a while back on an award show. She is a great singer. You truly have a gift, always wanted to meet him in person.
yessem you are right.
This song will still be a Classic in 2099.
Old rock and roll music it’s forever and eternity ❤️🤘
77 more years!
Touring with Phil and Tommy Emmanuel in 86, this was the only recording (cassette) listened to in the car while traveling. Still listening in 23. Thanx Eric
Nice
My favorite Clapton song as far as vocals and instruments. There isn't anything that ever will compare to it
I remember hearing this song on a Miami Vice episode and thought it was cool. It was also a song playing on the radio when I asked one of my girlfriends out in college. One of my favorite Clapton songs.
The episode it came out on was “the lost modonna.”😎
just recently discovered this song.... and I've played it about 100 times a day. ordered the album... and I'm waiting...
Hello Rachelle
How are you doing
Thanks for your love, support and for been an amazing fan!❤️
It's nice meeting you here
Does anybody realize that Phil NEVER plays a snare in the song untill the outro.......KILLER Song for me...have loved it since new!!!...Go Phil & Eric!!
Underrated and underappreciated song by Slowhand. Brings back good memories of the mid-80s listening to KQRS back in the Twin Cities.
Never underrated, never underappreciated. OK, so it was never released as a single, but it was the featured lead-off track on a Platinum smash album at a time when people still bought & listened to entire albums, he performed it at Live Aid for an audience of a billion, it remains a staple of rock radio, & it's a mainstay on any of his compilation/retrospective albums. AND, on top of all that, it was in a Miami Vice episode....That's not "underrated".
That military refrain and snare drum at the end, tho 😍
Jennifer Jarvis yesss some very smooth buzz rolls from Mr. Collins
your hot when you talk about ........anything! :)
Phill Collins on Simmons drums & snare rolls....Jamie Oldaker on full drums & Ray Cooper on percussion.
@@chris_amezquita it was Phil Collins!?! Awesome!!
Seen him 13 times. Great. Inspirational. My first clapton show was Houston on this tour.
What a great song ! Long Live Clapton
In my view this song is just perfect in every way !!
Why "She's Waiting" didn't chart the Top 40 is beyond me. I remember hearing this song only a few times back in 1985, then hearing it on the radio again during the '90s. Classic rock song only Clapton could perform!
Reminds me of driving to Newport RI on Saturdays. Getting ready to party the day and night away. Used to CRANK this on the CD player in my bad ass Pontiac F’n Sunbird - $7000!!!. Oh to be 23 again !
With the drums of Phil Collins, they add so much to this...the timing is IMPECCABLE
This is a gem
saw clapton sing this live......will never forget that concert....he is one of the greatest guitar players of our life time!
one of my most favorite songs by Sir Clapton
999 thumbs up...needs that one more!
Finally bringing his power blues rock style forward and center. Great live too.
I LOVE the drums at the end!The backing vocals are pretty cool too!
I had forgotten about this one. Badass.
One of my favorite tunes, and it always will be!! Thanks!!!
Great music. Great singing and guitar work
by Clapton , and props to the producer and
drummer on the track, Phil Collins, this song
(and the album as a whole) definitely show
the excellent marriage of the two great
artists, Clapton's grit and passion backed
with Collins's precision and efficiency.
First heard in this classic in an episode of Miami vice 📺 tv show!! Great song from the 🎸 god. 👏👏👊👍😎thanks for uploading this ☝️️
This is one of his best, underrated and rarely heard songs. Some of his best are let it rain, I can't stand it, it's in the way that you use it,forever man and pretending. And so many more with Derek and the dominoes, cream and blinding (with Steve winwood)
I meant blind faith with Steve winwood
Complete agreement!
@@gerilynnlaporte9346 absolutely 100 per cent spot on. I loved clapton in the 80s, mainly cos it was the decade of my teenage years, having said that, i love eric clapton. Full stop.
Clapton is the man!
Clapton's best song!
I agree 100%!!!
Long time passed, and still ringing in my head, such great song. Thanks for bringing this song up.
Whole album is underrated, imho. Forever Man is just fantastic.
Found this on my moms old tapes. Omg awesome music!
The fifth time I am listening to this today.
same
That is pretty weird.
I thinks it's one his most powerful songs in solo career.
I couldn't believe myself when I found this song a couple of years ago and I've stood on top of Eric Clapton's master Taylorsville of beat and harmony with superb guitar work by the Craftsman himself Eric
Oh yes I forgot about this one. LOVE LOVE and LOVE Clapton = God
I've always LOVED this awesome track! ❤️
This song is begging for a remake. I had almost forgotten about it. Used to listen to Behind the Sun a lot in college. Thinking about this song and album is like running into an old friend you havent seen in years.
Love the drums… and all of it!
Heard this the today on the radio, it had bee a while. So many memories, good shit right here!
I love the drums and backing vocals at the end. Great opener!
O'le slow hand, is living proof if they live longer, they get better and better all the time !
i clicked on a video last night had this song never heard this before dam i loved it, so much i went on ebay and bought the cd, wow this song bloody rocks
Very best Song ❤❣❤ THANK YOU SO MUCH ERIC 😘👍👍👍
under-rated Clapton! Classic Live Aid opener.
another great song! Listen to it over and over again.
Saw this at Live Aid been to Wembley home for Philadelphia brilliant
another great song from Erik Clapton
I love his vocal in this, his voice sounds top notch.
Why this damn album did not see success, I wonder. It has more rock element that blues. Full of experimental sounds and experimental beats. Unlike most other Clapton albums, drum is playing a crucial role here. I love it.
I've always wondered that myself. I picked the LP up in, um, whenever it was released. 1985 or 6, I guess. Didn't get the typical radio heavy air play, I just picked it up because it was Clapton and wanted to hear it. Good money well spent.
What an incredible artist....
Happy Birthday Eric.
shoot, i grew up on radio and vinyl. this is MAYBE (no debate necessary) Clapton's greatest tune. Badge, Cocaine, Layla, Wonderful Tonight...the list is endless for great tunes he put out. kids wanna hear a TRUE legend? jam with this guy for an hour or five. THEN talk about how good today's music is....
If I had to choose a fav Clapton tune, his 80s stuff wouldn't even be on my radar, personally. I like his 70s and 90s (From The Cradle was a brilliant return to blues) stuff the best, myself.
give money and cigarettes a listen. clapton goes country on this one.
@@xXNuclearWarXx then you need to listen to Bell Bottom Blues live from 24 Nights Live at the Royal Albert Hall. I have seen him live countless times and my daughter surprised with tickets. He hit the first two notes of Bell Bottom Blues and we were out of our seats screaming. I have seen him countless times since but that was the only time I have ever heard him play it. Check out, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
W
this is a massive 80s tune for sure
Such a catchy riff... Been stuck in my head all day.
I like the ending. Phil Collins summoning his inner H.S. drummer on snare.
I love the drumming on this - it's Phil Collins.
It's actually a combo of Jamie Oldaker on full drums, Phill Collins on Simmons drums & snare, & Ray Cooper on percussion.....
I like it too. If you appreciate a good drummer check out Dire Straits Sultan of Swing, Alchemy Live. Drummer absolutely kills it, Terry Williams is the drummer.
@@Tarantulisimo RIP Jamie Oldaker. Great drummer.
Think there will be someone like this on one of the televised talent shows of late? Someone who can sing, as well as being one of the greatest guitar players ever? Im still WAITING.
Eric in one of his many guises.........
Wow!! This is my favorite song from him!
The holy trinity
Love this song. Thanks, Eric Clapton.❤
Dans cette chanson tout est en équilibre, la voix d’Eric, la batterie de Phill Collins, le jeu de guitare et même le jeu de flûte. Énorme, ma préférée de Clapton....Longue vie à lui
Man I just love Clapton!!!
Wonderful and Marcie is such a great singer in background
The greatest slow hand ever for sure!
Happy mother's day everyone. This song reminds me of my departure mother. Her record collection was the best.
Heard this for the first time last night on some old vinyl I bought. I'm surprised this isn't one of his most well known songs, it's one of my favorite
Hello Nico
How are you doing
Thanks for your love, support and for been an amazing fan!❤️
It's nice meeting you here
@@ericclapton5243 bruh
Oh damn, everytime I hear this song, I wish that someone might come up and please my (little younger) generation with that kind of powerfull, undestructable music.
Luckily Mr. C still pleases us with his godlike music. Couldn't be without it!!!
Clapton my all time favorite. Heard this song on Miami Vice last night and fipped it on the turntable. Late 80s Clapton is some great stuff ie Behind the Sun and Journeyman leading into his Unplugged and Tears From Heaven in the 90s
I was lucky enough to see Slow Hand in concert while he was touring for this album.
I was 16.
this tune brings me back to early childhood 80's. this song use to get a lot of radio play then
I believe that's Phil Collins on the snare drum at the end! SWEET!
Woke up with this song playing in my head.
A tune with great feeling. Clapton is an underrated artist
Don't think Clapton is under rated at all
I absolutely loved this album it came out my junior year of high school alot of good memories tied to this album
Just awesome! Period.
The girls singing over those colonial marching drums at the end is worth the price of admission alone.
I heard this song on Bill St James' Time Warp last night and really liked it. I didn't know it, so I sent and email to the radio station (92.3 The Dock) and today they sent me an email telling me what it was (ANDY DENEMARK, EVP/Programming, UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS). Love the song and love the program and its responsiveness to listeners! Thanks for posting!
Love Love Love this song!
love the live versions of this..a little more hyped
Love you & your MUSIC~

August of 86 I went.to the ia state fair with my woman and found my.soul mate thank you Eric 🎉

I LOVE THIS MAN !
Some of the best press rolls EVER........thank you Phil Collins! !!
Phill Collins on Simmons drums & snare rolls....Jamie Oldaker is on full drums & Ray Cooper on percussion.
