(Sorry if my English isn’t very great!) oh, and! For the sake of…everything! as soon as dating happens we are going to immediately assume that me (klara) is nineteen. (The age where you are finally a legal adult :) )
“I know right!” I laughed, holding my small cup of coffee in my hands.
My 3 other friends I was at the cafe with all talked with me.
“I’ll be right back, I’m gonna head to the bathroom” I say.
As I walked past various table I reached for the door handle when a woman tapped me on my shoulder. She had a defined face and a small JYPE button on her shirt.
“Hi-“ I said but my words were cut short when she handed me a business card, shoving it in my face. Suddenly having to go to the bathroom was wiped from my mind and I headed back to my table. I examined the card and set it on the small round table as I sat back down.
“What’s that?” Jin-sun asked, twirling her long blonde hair around her finger.
“I don’t know..” I muttered.
“OH MY GOSH” Yuri yelped “IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS?”
That evening as I arrived back at my apartment I gave the number on the business card a call.
“Hello?” I spoke into the phone.
“Hello this is JYP Entertainment how can I help you?” A woman answered the phone.
“Hi I’m Klara Kim, I was handed a card at the cafe down by-“ I said.
“OH!” The woman shouted into the microphone, almost dropping the phone “Sorry, yes yes I’ve been expecting a call from you. So will 8:00 tomorrow morning work?” She asked.
“For what…” I muttered.
“Oh just a basic quick easy audition, hun.” She said like it was nothing.
“Uh…yeah that’ll work!” I blurted.
The next morning I woke up early. My mind was blurry and I completely regretted accepting and audition out of the blue. When I arrived I danced some dances I knew, sang some songs I remembered the lyrics to. And I rapped some lyrics that I could. As I got done with the final portion of the audition, JYP clasped his hands together, staring down at his clipboard set on the table. I flashed a nervous smile.
“It definitely needs work” he sighed.
My heart sank a bit. Oh wel-
“Welcome to JYP Entertainment!” He exclaimed.
For the next 11 months I trained my ass off every day. I even mad some friends.
“PFFFFT, HAH” Soojin chuckled as I nearly fell flat on my face.
“I think your shoe is untied…” Shuhua said sarcastically.
I hid my smile and steadied myself. I went and sat down next to them, taking a drink from my water.
“Klara!” One of the managers yelled and he waved me over.
I quickly jogged over to him “Yes?”
“We need to talk” he sighed, pulling me into the hall.
My mind began to race and my palms were sweaty.
“As you know, you were set to debut with IVE. But you don’t fit the concept well.” He said, giving me a slight pat on my back.
My stomach dropped and I could feel my face grow pale.
I twiddled my thumbs. Just a month from now, I’m supposed to turn 17, I was supposed to debut. It was supposed to be…perfect. Pt 2 in replies!
“But!” He said again.
My face lit up a bit.
“We’ve set up another group!” He smiled “You are going to become our main rapper and main dancer. We will throw some vocals in there once and a while cause you do indeed have a wide vocal range but your official positions won’t include vocalist” He said.
I could feel my smile spread across my face.
“You’ll meet the girls tomorrow” he said and waved me off to get back to practice.
The next morning, instead of rushing off to the practice room, I headed towards the recording studio. I walked in and was met with the warm smiles of 1 of the girls.
“Hi I’m Klara!” I waved.
“Hiiiii” she smiled. Instead of holding out her hand for a handshake she offered me a hug “I’m Ju-no” she smiled.
Her attitude was very motherly and kind. So that was relieving. The other 2 girls, Mi-Yoo and Lea arrived and we all sat down on the couch.
“So the debut album will be called “Born Pink”” The manager said “So get to recording, you’ll have today, tomorrow and maybe one more day depending on if you guys need more time before choreo is worked on for a week or two and then…” he made a drumroll sound on the coffee table with his hands “the music video shooting!” He smiled before exiting the room.
The week felt like not 7 days but 7 seconds before the the music video was shot. I sat in the trailer next to Lea, who had become very close, her and I. The hair stylist did my hair and the many makeup artists poked and plotted my hair.
“You excited?” Lea asked.
“Yeah but I can’t pretend I’m also not terrified.” I nervously chuckled.
I got dressed in the butterfly top and skirt, lacing up the chunky black cargo boots. Taking a deep breath, the shooting began.
I was one of the first ones awake the next morning. I barely slept at all, I was so nervous. I climbed down the bunk ladder and swung open the fridge.
“Ughhhh” I groaned.
“Who drank all of the coffee” I scratched my head. I turned on the TV and brushed my hair and teeth as Lea and Ju-no woke up. Mi-Yoo was the last one awake as always.
“So do you guys wanna head down to the convenience store across the street on the corner?” I said, looking down at my phone.
Everyone agreed and we got dressed. Now that we debuted lazy outfits weren’t very acceptable anymore. I put on a cropped white short sleeved tee and some baggy gray sweatpants. The others wore the same except shorts or cargo pants. We took the elevator down to the lobby and walked through the revolving doors.
“So what are you guys gonna ge-“ Ju-no said when she was cut off.
“OH MY GOD!” A girl screamed. “ITS X.O” She yelled out our group name.
I shyly waved before paparazzi ran over, cameras flashing. Bodyguards emerged from the building and helped us push through the crowd.
“Klara! Klara Kim!” I reporter yelled “How does it feel reached 100 million views and 95 million streams!”
My eyes widened as questions were called out to all of us.
“I uhm” I stuttered over my words.
“Klara! How’s it feel being the most popular out of your group, especially when you are the maknae? “
“Uhm, I…” I couldn’t speak and we finally squeezed into the convenience store and our new bodyguards blocked the entrance. We quickly purchased our food and coffee before scampering back out. We posed for pictures and rushed back into the building, catching our breaths.
Later that day we received our first ever win.
A week later we prepared for our first concert.
“Happy early 17th birthday” Mi-Yoo smiled at me as we rehearsed backstage.
“Thanks” I nodded.
I put on my outfit (#4) and we went out on stage. Little did I know this would be my most popular fancam…ever.
My palms were sweaty underneath my gloves but I hid my nervousness.
“Diamonds shinin', drive in silence, I don't mind it, I'm ridin'

In the ending fairy I glanced to my right. I noticed RM clapping and my eyes widened. No. F*. Way.
After the concert I exited and felt a tapping on my shoulder. It was him. We exchanged numbers and became close friends. I was also crazy amazing friends with Jisung of SKZ. A week later I sat on Instagram live with Lea, 60k something viewers.
“Oh my god I have the funniest story” Lea snorted.
“Let’s hear it” I smiled.
“So yesterday when her and RM were on their date at the-“ she covered her own mouth with her hands, her eyes wide. My hands instinctively lept forward and covered her mouth. We both looked eyes wide at the camera. Sitting in silence for the next minute or two I broke the silence.
“There goes the secret..heh” I muttered, scratching my head.
(Outfit #2) The weekend of that..event, we arrived at our first award show. Posing for the cameras we got our seats. By pure coincidence the hosts had sat me next to RM, not that I minded it. I held his hand as awards were handed out. I constantly noticed cameras focused on me and him.
“And the final award, album of the year goes to….X.O!” The hostess yelled into the microphone. The room erupted in claps and we headed up onto stage.
Despite having a boyfriend, I was continuously shipped with Haechan.
I sat in an interview as questions were asked.
“Next question. Why does X.O’s Klara look so much like G-IDLE’s Soyeon?”
I chuckled “Umm, I don’t know I’ve never really thought about how much I looked like other people…” I brushed my hair out of my face “I will take that as an insanely flattering compliment though.” I smiled.
“Moving on…Hyungwon is having beef with Klara Kim and has said some rude comments about her on twitter, why?”
I thought I got the hang of this interview thing after countless interviews but my mind went blank “I…I like to keep beef private. I do know we had unsettled conflicts from..uhm a few years ago. I tried to keep things private but clearly he would rather come at me publicly. I won’t be saying snide comments or anything like that.” I gave a nervous glance around “so uh-yeah.”
“Last question” the interviewer said “are you and BTS’s RM still together?”
I laughed “of course.”
I gave the out to for the interview, revealing upcoming activities of mine such as solo albums and dance covers.
I scrolled on my phone as I sat with RM at a cafe. I felt cameras on us and I my face when pale.
“Klara Kim has been accused of outshining members after she released hit single “Confident” and…” my whispers turned into mutters.
“Hmm?” RM asked me.
“Look” I showed him my phone, my face concerned.
“Oh, first scandal?” He said.
“Yeah,” I had to refrain from biting my nails.
“Klara, everyone loves you, it’s just some rumors, trust me. Your fans will defend you” he smiled.
