Thankfully most of my folks house was painted shades of white. per my recommendation. I pulled the stripped wall paper and painted off white. Painted the front door and shutters black. The original color from 1965. A bit "cottage". Sold the original amber lights for big bucks and used neutral fixtures in the entry way and hall. Pulled the carpet my folks put over clear oak 52 years ago! Settlement this month 100K more than the first realtor suggested..
