My dog cooper and I live in this van full time and will be traveling the country. I absolutely love your "build"! What a great, cozy spot for Cooper's crate. He must love it. I also love that comforter. I don't have a creative bone in me so I appreciate the tour and ideas for when I get my van! 😁😁 About the bananas, when mine are that color (about to start turning brown), I peel, cut in rounds, put in a ziplock bag and store in freezer. Those frozen rounds are delicious. I often have some after dinner, or whenever a craving for something sweet and ice cream like strikes.

I learned a trick for keeping bananas fresh, the day you bring them back from the store put them in the fridge, the outside of the banana may turn a little bit brown and yellow but it's fresh as the day you purchased it

Great van setup. For the bananas, dont buy them when they are already ripe (yellow) unless you plan on eating them that day or the next. Buy them when they are more green and stiffer, as they arent ripe yet and will last you longer. Theyll turn yellow and ripe in a couple days and be ready to eat (this goes for basically all fruit)
I do know that about the bananas and I was planning on eating them within a couple days but I just didn’t realize how much faster in a can they turn brown and soft than in a house. I think I just have to buy less and more often or cut and freeze 😃 Thank you the van is a work in progress but not bad in just a few weeks of having it.

For a no build van you’ve got just about everything you need. I love how organized you are. I love a lot about your van but wondered how you secured the little black baskets to the upper sides of the van? That was a great idea because you need lots of storage for everything. How do you keep the big furniture from moving/shifting when you drive? You didn’t talk about that. I am pretty impressed with your job of setting it up and making it cozy. Cooper is a cutie too. What a good boy..🐶💖
I have the links for the baskets in my description which might explain better than I do. Basically it’s a strong sticker on the wall of the van behind the fabric that has hooks to hang the baskets from. They come with the baskets. 😃 the furniture is mostly held down with zip ties and bungee cords in a zillion directions just in case. 😂 the bed itself is the ikea hack with the beams and slats I simply put Velcro along the beams and on the underside of the slats so they are very secure to each other and don’t move. I did use the existing little holes to create rivets in them super easy with a robot tool and used bolts to secure to the inside frame of the van. 😃 hope that helps and thank you for your kind comments.

💐I really love your build I purchased a cargo trailer 6x12 and turned and turned it into a living space I just got finished with most of it except I have to redo my Solar System I have really enjoyed this adventure and you have encouraged me even more💐

It's really great! I mean...if I could figure out how to afford a van it would be a couple of years before I could figure out how to afford a build so I think this is very comfortable and absolutely the way to dive right in and start traveling! Love it, kl
Thank you and honestly I did it in a 2005 caravan the short one with 200k miles for a year. It’s amazing what you can make work when you want to. You don’t need a big van to have a great rig. 😊

Wrap banana tips in plastic wrap. Also those green bags that helps fruit, ect life span longer as it traps, stops the gasses from releasing.

A tip to save the Banana 🍌 , use the store plastic bags u find in the produce area to wrap them in .. they give off a lot of gas is why they turn so quickly. If they are kept in the bag they will last longer .

Great van tour. I love that you used material on your walls. I used curtains as the material for my walls because of the thickness. It gives it a soft appearance. I have a build no build as well & you've given me ideas.

I know the feeling and I am sorry you are having to experience it. If you do decide to do a van build just think of meeting your needs first. You don’t need elaborate and can always improve over time. Think about a place to sleep, eat, prepare food, keep food, toilet, a place to sit down and airflow. Some things can serve double purposes which is great and all the best to you! 😊

Would you be willing to share who will be installing your MaxxAir fan as well? You don't have to do it until after it's installed (for your safety), but I would love to know. People tend to just shake their heads and say "no" when it comes to installing roof fans in vehicles.

Thank you! I just bought the van less than two months ago. So not long in it. 😂 However, for the last year prior I was living in a minivan. So if that counts then a year. 😊 I have always loved to organize and to me the van is still a mess in progress. So I am sure it will continue to develop over time.

Hi Beverly- just wondering if your van is insulated and do you you do any winter camping? I love the simplicity and one who likes to rearrange; what a great idea.
I just bought the van less than two months ago so it isn’t insulated yet but it will be. It’s a work in progress no doubt. 😃 I was living in Florida the last seven years so I can’t wait to see some snow again. While parked 😂
Brown bananas are ripe bananas 😂 they haven’t gone bad.
I realize that but in a week they won’t be anything but mush. I prefer still having a bit more solidity to the banana personally but great in pancakes, bread and all kinds of other things just don’t want to draw in bugs etc. 😊

If you wrap the top of your bananas (where they come together at the top) with saran wrap, they last longer ❤

bananas have usually cocroach eggs on them, safer is to store the bananas in a waterproof jar, so the cocroaches cant get out. a plastic jar in a motorhome, not glas, for safety reason. 🌻🌳

With bananas look up, research how to keep the life of them longer- how long they stay good until the don’t ect. That way you’ll know how many to get ect and how long they’ll last!!
I’m thinking of a ford transit 148/9. Tell us about your mattress and the air fryer brand. ❤
That’s awesome! I done know what the 148/9 is though. What’s the /9? I have both linked in the description and got them both from Amazon. The mattress is a full size medium firm foam mattress. The air fryer is the cosori brand which I love! I had it in the larger version in my home but this smaller one is a lower wattage and perfect for on the road. I actually just used it last night to make chicken tenders. 😋

Curious how you keep your van cool, other than the fans you have throughout your van? I didn’t hear you mention AC and curious at some point you’ll put solar on top? How are you hanging those kitchen baskets?
The baskets have a tape adhesive with hooks that let the basket sit in. I have them behind the fabric stuck to the wall. It’s basically a strong sticker but the link in the description will show you it better then I can explain it if you want to take a look. 😃
How big is your bed? Do you like it side to side. Thanks
It’s a standard full size bed and honestly I think I prefer not sleeping side to side.
