What a player and Good bargaining
Nice backup for any positions available for him cause of his versatility, just like Malo Gusto as backup for Reece James. He looks strong, tall, calm and composure with some level of confidence. He's got some ball playing as well. He can only be commended if he can handle the attack of the likes of Man city, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and some very good attacking teams.
He already showed his composure in the match against Bayern Munich last season. I must say Chelsea strike a gold with Veiga at ÂŁ11million. Those long passes and interceptions are not normal for a 20yr old playing in CB/LB/CM and he is so versatile. Just like Malo Gusto, I have no doubt about this signing. Veiga will be a star.

I see Alphonso Davis while watching him
I think they got him based on who they needed most, Calafiori has tons of potential but he's more of a CB who can also play at LB. Veiga is more of a LB, so he looks to be a replacement for Chilwell if we're looking to sell him in the transfer window. I still would've loved to have Calafiori but Veiga might be the more necessary purchase for us.
Regardless, i'm much happier with what the current owners are doing this transfer window compared to past ones, going for several cheaper but high potential options rather than spilling big cash for young potential. Very low risk purchases.

The guy is just starting and he's playing for a low team that's why , sometimes those coaches feel that those players that play in big teams are the best and have more experience and confidence to withstand other teams. An example is England Coach, SouthGate using Saka over Palmer even when Palmer has proved he's better.
Watch after he has continually played for a period of time for Chelsea he will be invited when next.

Veiga really reminds me of a left footed Trent with this passing. If he's more solid at defending with his physique and marking he could be an incredible fullback for us and a long term replacement for Chilly. I hope he isn't purchased to sell one of our other recent midfield purchases. This new batch of young talent (Paez, Estavao, Anselmino, Guiu and Veiga has me believing more than the last batch of youngsters we purchased (Chukwuemeka, Washington, Ugochukwu, Fofana etc)

Watching this I'm just envisioning Veiga inverting from left back to pair Enzo in deeper areas in midfield with Caicedo and KDH playing box to box feeding Mudryk/Sterling, Christo/Nico and Palmer/Noni up front, I'm feeling pretty confident about how improved our game will be and I'm already excited for the season

the guy is like a raw combo of toni kroos how with his passing, olise with the flair and set piece class, caicedo with his defence and he gives me rudiger type of mentality, bulling him will be haed but him bullying others will be fun. as he grows and learns more, he wil be a monster on that left channel. atleast finally we will get that balance on both the left and the right channel. if mudryk start showing his class again, he will benefit from veiga on that left side.

You can't replace a player that you never had
I'm extremely disappointed that Conor Gallagher couldn't prove himself in the Euros. It's frustrating to see him given the opportunity by Southgate, only to fail miserably. I defended him passionately, like he was a family member, against every rival at work, on playgrounds, and CZcams channels. Seeing him outperformed and overshadowed by a young Manchester United player hurts deeply.
I can no longer defend him and believe it's time to consider selling him. While he may put in a strong effort in preseason, I won't be swayed, knowing his position is threatened by incoming talent. Forgive me if this sounds personal, but I can't support a player who hides and fails to meet expectations, especially when playing for Chelsea. When ever a Chelsea player goes out on international duties I expect him to perform especially if he is given the opportunity
A few things to consider here:
1. Judging any England player in the national team set up is unfair. Gareth Southgate is a terrible coach. The other thing you get in international football is the lack of time for players to integrate and gel. So that's where the impact of a manager is huge. International football is more dependent on tactics because managers won't have enough time to get their players to gel, particularly more so when there is a large pool of talent in a country and there is a need to rotate players.
2. I think you are underestimating just how good England's midfielders on an individual level are. I've always rated Kobbie Mainoo highly. He's a gem unearthed by Man Utd unlike Garnacho and Rashford who are overrated selfish bums if we're being honest. Even Wharton who is supremely gifted couldn't get a single minute in the Euro.
3. Gallagher is far from being technically gifted but his work rate, endeavour and relentless pressing along with decent attributes on the ball makes him a highly sought after weapon by modern managers.
4. Fans obsess over possession based football whilst conveniently forgetting that being effective with this style is not solely dependent on how good you are on the ball, but also off the ball. You need to be good at both aspects.
5. In Pochettino's last 5 games, Chelsea were playing attractive football because the team started gelling better, and Cucurella had more influence in the build up play by being an inverted full back. We had no issue creating chances even with Gallagher in the team.
I'll say this now. Chelsea fans couldn't be more wrong about the way they judge Gallagher just like they've harshly judged other former players like Havertz, Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic. It's the unstable environment which makes them flop at Chelsea.
