  • Hey guys! In this video you will learn how to make a bird from the amazing videos of Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell . If you haven't seen them before, please do yourself a favor and go watch any one of their videos right now :) They are a visual treat with loads of educational content. You can find all the reference images in the project files link below!
Also, there are other softwares that are better suited for vector animation, but we wanted to see if Blender was up to the task- so what do you guys think? Please feel free to leave any feedback you have. See you guys in the next video; Pasindu.

Hey great tutorial! Just wondering how did you dissassemble the bird into different shapes at the very beginning?

      You can use bendy bones.
Pixxio has a tutorial showing how to do it.

I'm just wondering & you've probably already answered this question.
Why did you use flattened 3D shapes instead of the grease pen, are there advantages?), I'm not that I'm complaining, nothing wrong with knowing different approaches to the same problem.
(Especially with Blender, way to common for something that seems simple to not work for whatever reason.)

I have a question, at 2:55 while using the Bevel tool, (Ctrl+Shift+B and scrolling to get more vertices and then moving the mouse around while not pressing any other key) it does move the vertices but it does it in a linear way, they are not curving. What am I doing wrong? thanks in advance!
