I absolutely hate how baby Goddess is only relevant thanks to Fiendsmith BS. Her effect being an activated targetting one sucks so bad. It should've been a continuous "If this card points to a monster: you can use it as material". That would make it an interesting boardbreaker along with her big form, cause if you manage to push through and put her and 1 other monster on your field, then you're essentially threatening to tribute 2 monsters the opponent controls in one-go regardless of protection and without any further activations; but instead now you just completely lose the play to Apo and thus you're required an additional 4th monster to tribute a single card. Konami seriously just throws darts on what cards to make broken or barely playable.

To be clear, for those unfamiliar, the problem card is Fiendsmith Requiem, not Moon of the Closed Heaven. Moon isn't a terrible card in and of itself, but its only relevance here is that it's a Generic Link-2 LIGHT Fiend, which fulfills the material for Requiem (a Link-1 requiring any LIGHT Fiend).
3 bodies is kinda strictly worse than 2 and a discard, and the pay off is lower impact as a stand alone engine, though it can bridge into a lot of other decks and do unfair things. I mostly expect snake eyes and fiend piles to abuse it, and those decks already had problem cards in them. I really do think a ban list fixes things.
Aren’t engines archetypes tho? Like the fiendsmith engine is multiple cards relating to fiendsmith ie an archetype. I believe what you actually want are more archetype locks so you can’t make archetypes into “engines”

TCG is the worst format right now because they are the only one that STILL has SE at full power. That shit is gonna get 10x worse because Fiendsmith works well into SE. So yes boring Tier 0 (Yes this shit is tier 0 don’t listen to the Copium people when Indianapolis literally showed it was tier 0.) is gonna continue for months. Which is why lot of players switched to other card games (with better prizes.) until a real banlist actually comes out again. TCG went to shit the moment SE dropped.
I have faced Fiend Smiths online, and they're difficult to stop. Had to figure out what to interrupt on the fly, and the board is difficult to break as well. It is satisfying to beat them, though.

While Fiendsmiths are Fiends, I believe they are way more impactful in Snakes compared to Yubel. For the latter, they only bridge Beckoning into Yubel engine but unless you have an extender, Muck is needed so the end board can't have Varudras or Apo (an extender allows Yama to revive Lotus instead). For snakes they completely replace Kash, the links equipping provide 2 free sends for snakes, then they establish Apo before making the Snake play or just strengthen their board with a free Caesar. But even better than Kash, they go into full snake combo. I would love to test Fiendsmith Snakes against Tear 0, it may have a chance.
yeah tear still wins. Its well established, if som hots tier on peak power level again the game is dead. So konami as you can see is trying to avoid it as hard as they can while still printing bs. They ban out 1 deck and release a second with sane power again rather rn. Also trying to limit how much you can play through handtraps.
As of yet, I don’t think I’ve seen a single person happy about how INFO will be released in the TCG. Most people are tired of being exploited like this, and I hope this set-with Fiendsmith being so splashable and making Tier 0 decks even BETTER-will be the one that breaks the camel’s back. This may be hard to say, but I think this set needs to do poorly for Konami to realize something is wrong with the health of the TCG. There are more options for TCGs than ever available in the West, and those games are seeing massive success. I’d rather play Magic or Magic clones and be able to afford it instead of the Yugioh TCG model.

Why do a konami do these things? Money. They know people will spend 69 thousand dollarie doos on packs and will make bank because it's THE set with game fucking cards in it. Needless to say, as long as broken shit exists and is not stopped, they will continue to ruin the game and continue to make the game inaccessable to new players
Time to switch to Cardfight Vangaurd and other tcgs. I basically stopped after Snake-Eyes came out and my Mannadium deck pretty much died and Branded is still playable but I just can't get into the game as much compared to playing Cardfight Vangaurd right now which is more fun compared to a 2 turn yugioh game.
As a Vanguard player, it seems fun with variety until you realize it's the same shit. Play meta decks that filter non-trigger cards so you check more triggers, or play decks that give your Vanguard and rear guards criticals. I got overtriggered 3 times yesterday during locals. Each time it cost me the game. OTs and crits win games.
People would have just played Dracconet and White Duston instead, which ends on a rank 6 by the fifth special summon so, it's not like not having Moon would have changed much. It just makes the engine more splashable on decks that aren't Snake-Eye. Which, depending on how you see it, it could be considered a good thing.
That is such a ridiculously worse downgrade, you can't even imagine. It's not about starting with fiendsmith access. That has never been hard. It's about randomly weaving it into your combo utilizing GOOD engine cards.
XD the last time I played in a tournament was in 2009 and I still use that deck in master duel with some modern additions since some of the cards are banned it's a final countdown deck nice thing is that alot of decks these days focus mainly on preventing mister effects not spells and traps and this deck has very few monsters it's mainly designed to stall that's it

Plant is nowhere near the best deck. It putting up quite literally two results is irrelevant. The OCG is a different format entirely. They had snake eye direct hits, we have none. It’s not the same.

Plant is nowhere near the best deck. It putting up quite literally two results is irrelevant.
The OCG is a different format entirely. They had snake eye direct hits, we have none. It’s not the same.
