This is one of the best shows at the moment. The acting, the chemistry, the toxicity,I love everything about it! The way Sem Reid plays Lestat is the literal perfection, in my opinion. Everyone is amazing in this show.
In the south , before slaves were allowed to marry, the "jumping the broom" was a way to seal the bond of the wedding. The ritual was later incorporated into the religious ceremony to remember what times were like.
This is the best show I’ve ever seen in my entire life, and I’d sell my soul to keep it running forever

I love that you caught the fact that Lestat was isolating him little by little from the get-go, it so crucial to see/and understand that Lestat was quite literally hunting him. I feel like a lot of people miss it on their first watch, so kudos !

but I say monster in the sense that now he has literally turned into a predator. and it's like lestat sees louis as a perfect companion, someone who has everything to let go of the humanity that failed him so much and can embrace the monstrous nature of a vampire. and Louis accepts because sees a second chance...
I had the same literal reaction to the scene of Louis in the confessional. Such an insanely emotionally charged performance that just cuts into you, it's crazy that he didn't win an Emmy for that monologue.

I always feel so happy to see people watching this show for the first time and being blown away like this. And believe it or not, It just keeps getting better.
Both the movie & this show are based on the cult classic Vampire Chronicles series written by Anne Rice. I hope you end up continuing reacting bcuz the show is much better (much gayer too bcuz the film cut out how explicitly queer the story always was) I think the acting & writing is brilliant! An underrated show ❤
Thanks for the great reaction. Anne Rice wrote with magic. She took the reader into her World of Vampires. We understood them and fell in love with them. This series finally gets to show us the depth of emotion that she wrote with. No covering up and "hiding" her intensions. It improves each episode. And the second season is even better. Can't wait for your next reaction.
I am SO excited that you're watching this. It's one of my absolute favorite shows. It's extremely high quality and the choices they made with the adaptation consistently blow me away. The cast is incredible and this is one of the best pilots I've ever seen. A friend of a friend was an extra in s1 and she thought the show wasn't going to be good so my expectations were on the floor and I was so pleasantly surprised to find out that it's legitimately a prestige vampire show. I can't wait to see what you think about the rest!

That's one of many reasons why I love this show so much, the soundtrack is absolutely incredible and enhances everything that's happening with the characters. I think music can be as powerful as acting or writing, and thanks to Daniel Hart we got beautiful score for both S1 and S2.

Best TV show atm. And by far. The acting is INSANE, and the episodes are so well written. And season 2 manages to get better!!!!!! It went from a 10/10 to a 11/10. It's all an emotional roller coaster; the tale does, indeed, seduce you.
This show is so so good, dramatic with great writing, incredible cinematography and of course fantastic acting. From the first episode, I became obsessed with this show. And I am the books reader. The movie was good but the show surpasses it at every levels.
The main advice I can give you diving into Anne Rice content is there are no heroes here 😂 Everyone is equal parts victim and villain and no one has a decent moral compass even if in retrospect they try to convince you otherwise. This is an adaptation of the novel Interview With the Vampire, same as the film, but better. Some things were changed, a couple times periods, the races of characters, they made it as gay as it was originally meant to be, and it's essentially telling the story as if the interview from the book happened, but cut off part way with Louis attacking him and then this is fifty years later, and they're trying the interview again.
You have no idea what's awaiting you 😂😂😂😂😂😂the best tv show of 2022 and clearly 2024, please react ep per ep the show is really good and i've subscribed to your channel because i love this show that much and your reaction is good and entertaining.Can't wait to see your face as the story deepens 😂😂😂

YESSSSSSSS! Love to see a reactor that welcomes the bloodlust, the beautiful score, the simmering attraction, the emotional performances and the wonderful dialogue! Lestat's commanding aura as he proposes a life together in the church is fantastic would draw most of us in, I reckon, and Louis' heartbreaking confession was award-worthy! Now I can't wait for the rest of your reactions - good job!
Keep in mind that Anne Rice (the author of the books) and her son Christopher were both quite involved in this show's production, which imo, can be plainly seen. There have been some significant changes from the novel, however, the core plot beats, the atmosphere, the feelings evoked by it, & the excellent writing are all there just like the novel.

The best series I've seen I can't get enough
Oh if dramatic music, crazy sexual tension, gore and top-tier acting is your thing, you're going to fall so in love with this show because everyone brings their A+ game every time! The writers, the directors, the composers, the costuming, the actors, everyone is chefs kiss.
Jacob Anderson (Louis) is so phenomenal, and Sam Reid (Lestat) is right there with him, they play off each other so so well and have immense chemistry.
About Paul, I like how you noticed how his behavior seemed to change. Often times, people who have been contemplating suicide, or have decided they are going to do it, have a switch up in their emotions. The fact that he went from sullen and now he's cheerful and recalling memories with Louis and wishing his sister the best, it was all a lead up to him having already decided to die. That's why often times people are blindsided when it happens, because of this particular warning sign.

I was very skeptical about this show because I read the book and I loved the 1993 movie. But I have to say: the show is WAY better than the movie, even with all the changes (like Louis being a black man and the story being set in 1910).

Yes the show is based on the books by Anne rice i have read some of the books the first two seasons deal with book 1 interview with the vampire season 3 will focus on the vampire lestat there's 13 books

This is closer to the book than the movie. And the Lestat in this show is the Lestat from the other books, not from the IWTV book (ie, Louis's POV)

It's great that you're catching Lestat's manipulation tactics while also understanding how his words disarm Louis (and us viewers lol). He had no one, he would take this monster as his lover over being alone, or maybe bc he feels like one himself.

I love your sensitivity and empathy. I watched your baby reindeer reaction and now this, and it's just so nice seeing men showing emotional depth. It's sad it's hard to get your male friends to open up-- unfortunately our world normalizes men's emotional anguish being suffered alone as a qualifier for one's manliness, which I think is so stupid and harmful. It's sad to see with my 3 brothers who have in recent years become quite hard-hearted and cruel esp with how they talk about women. It's a disease of society. I think that shows like this and channels like yours combat it in a very good way, so thank you for being yourself and showing people that there are other, better, more wholesome ways of being a man.
