What rpm does it kick in at? Honestly asking, I have a 2010 Fit and was just wondering. Also, does it only kick in under full throttle?

Hey, it kicks in about 5.2k rpms. Seems to be most noticiable on full throttle and not sure whether this applies to the 1.3l engine.

@@dOntBcUt Ok, thanks. I have the 1.5L. I can't really tell when it kicks in, I mean it's not a high performance base engine by any means haha

I have a 2009 GE8 L15a7. Takeda intake chopped down to the shortest possible length, filter sits 6 inches from the throttle body. Secondary cat delete with 1 7/8 outside diameter pipe (stock exhaust in most places is 1 3/4, but this size was perfect to slip into the pipe right before the secondary cat but directly after the secondary O2 sensor, didn’t have to play with that at all, and because this cat is not between the two oxygen sensors it’s not an issue) into a 2 1/2 inch catback with a single Dynomax Ultraflow SS muffler. Yonaka didn’t have a catback available and the 3 bolt flange on my cat didn’t exist anymore due to rust, so I had to make the whole thing myself, and fitting 2 1/2 inch pipe between the rear suspension and body took me many tries. But at least my welds improved over time I guess. I hear Vtec engage at 5,400 exactly, and the throttle needs to be all the way to the floor. The Vtec solenoid needs to see peak oil pressure to engage and that usually requires maximum engine load. And to be honest, even with the intake and exhaust it’s not that loud. My girlfriend knows what Vtec is and more so how it works mechanically, and she can’t necessarily hear it all the time even when I do. But sometimes it growls hard, but who knows.

@@mikehorb9485 Interesting that it kicks in so late. Not much rpm range to use it, it seems. I was thinking more like 4500rpm
