Thats the part i dont get. What he mean he not supposed to not like it? Kpop to girly? To pretty? Thats what i hate with this "im a man" or rapper image. There is nothing more cooler then a person expressing what he like and arnt afride to show it. That makes you more of a man then trying to be something you are not. Like if you do rap you have to act tuff and gangsta. No you dont. You can be soft and still peform a very powerful meaningful song.

People that are into hardcore genres like Rap/Metal/Classical etc usually look down on Pop since it is made in order to cater to everyone which most of the time makes it bland and halfhearted it is only natural to be shocked that in top Kpop groups they actually go so hard with they crossgenre inserts that they even appeal to the hardcore community.

I've listened to rap my whole life. I too felt like I wasnt supposed to like this stuff. I actually heard "kill this love" on the radio and loved it. I knew it had another language in it but wasnt sure what it was and didnt k ow it was from another country. It was about 2 years later when I watched your reaction to "how you like that" when I found out that it was kpop. It made me dive deeper into it. Now I cansay I like kpop and I dont care if I'm supposed to or not. It's good music and really that's what I'm a fan of.

Blackpink was created in a lab by YG entertainment solely to be Global superstars! They were hand-picked to basically take over the pop'ish world. If you notice, in most of their videos they have a little bit of Indian vibes. That is on purpose. One of the most populated countries is India. They were trying to hit all countries. They even all speak multiple languages. Lisa speaks 4 languages. They were made to be Mega Stars. But yes, they can all sing. No Manila Gorilla here! 🙈You might want to check out their live performances. I normally don't like live performances over studio but in their case it's better live. Their band is awesome and also brings a rock element which I think is needed. Plus you can also see them actually sing.

Blackpink transcend genres of music. When I heard they were K-pop I figured I'd never like them that much. The more I listened to them I became absolutely obsessed with them and their songs. “I shouldn’t like this” I never understand why people say this just because it’s genre is Kpop. I do suggest going on a journey to understand what kpop is. Every type of music is influenced by culture and other artists. Hip hop is so deep rooted in kpop. The modern kpop has advanced from it.
I would suggest going and check out the OG kpop groups such as H.O.T and Seotajii and the boys (who the creator of Black Pink) is in! That’s why this is so well created because they’ve found the perfect balance of a kpop group.

It's no surprise that people will be influenced and end up with the wrong conclusions. Let's not act like we are shocked that someone thinks they should like it. And I don't get why you recommend H.O.T or Seo Taji and Boys. That's a whole 3 to 4 generation gap in music and you want to introduce it to someone new to kpop? Interesting choice but Blackpink is very modern and mainstream sound. Comparing it to H.O.T/The Seo Taji and Boys is like apples and oranges. And considering how oversaturated kpop is, having a deep dive is less likely.

JENNIE appeared with black and white swans while dressed in black and white clothes as well. It represents her naive and innocent self who got lost in the idea of love hence the color white. Then there's the other side of her which showed a side showing her realization that love always comes with pain hence the black.
LISA then enters "heaven" where you can see cereal boxes with words about or related to love. It shows how one can feel like theyre in heaven when you are in love.
JISOO now enters with a puddle of water beneath her. When you pay attention well, you can see that the whole image represents a teary eye or an eye that has been pain.
ROSÉ who was driving a car is both the driver and the one being driven on. Notice the plates says "Ego" which means when you finally come to the realization that the love youre in is toxic, you must overcome your ego and destroy that part of yourself to have the strength to let go of a love that isnt healthy anymore. She also appears in a scene which looks like she was in a storm. It could mean feeling like being in a whirlwind.
JISOO again appears as a princess and one with a bow and arrow. Again it symbolizes her stronger self wanted to kill her weaker self to escape a toxic love.
The bear trap where they are dancing in is a bear trap shaped like a heart which represents how love can be a trap. Hence the lyrics which they sang on the bridge.
