I don’t know why there are comments saying the dresses look matronly. The ones at the start of the video are vintage, very Jackie Kennedy when she was First Lady in her 30s. They look lovely on young women who want a vintage look.

I really don't understand this criticism. Classic Dior pieces are not "matronly"...perhaps you mean that they are vintage looking? She was wearing classic styles from the 50s and 60s...which were very popular with women in their 20s and 30s in those times. The pieces were more modest in that time and tended to accentuate the waist and collarbone of women. Nothing "matronly" about that. Just classic.

Yes, show your amazing figure more in these ultra conservative pieces by at least being more tailored like the the jackets/blazers are too big and boxy. You look so gorgeous in everything but while trying to invest in forever pieces try not to buy clothes for decades later just yet.

I'm in the process of returning clothing from Goelia and it's a nightmare - you have to pay for postage and you have to return the items to their warehouse in New York so that means paying for international shipping. The quality is no better than H&M.

I hope you take this as if it's coming from a caring sister or friend, but I don't think hats are really suited to you, or at least not the one with the flat top and big bow you keep trying to team up with outfits for those summer outdoor events like weddings, or horse races. In my humble opinion and observation, given your attention to details, those type of hats simply take away from the natural elegance you aspire to and lean more toward a contrived, trying-too-hard kind of look. You exude much more grace without the topper.

Just googled turtleneck because I didn't get what was "mock" about the mock turtleneck! It seems I didn't get it because I'm British, not American.
In the UK, a turtleneck is a high neck with a single layer of fabric (and this is a mock turtleneck in the US). A double layer, roll neck is a polo neck (not to be confused with the collar of a polo shirt - that's completely different) in the UK, but a turtleneck neck in the US - no wonder I get confused when different terminologies are used!
I’ve liked every one of those dresses you showed us at the start of the video. So classic and elegant. If I lived in a country that had an actual autumn and winter season, I’d totally be going for something like that.

I guess some have not. The look these days is inspired by the series "Succession" old money look..the try hard sex look mutton dressed as lamb look is so tiresome ..
Personally I don´t like that much of your style last few months. Some of your outfits are for middle aged women, (for example your first outfit in this video) and you are still young. Also you are not royalty, to be obligated to wear that classic pieces. I started watching your videos when you were so much into linen dresses and much before Hermes overbuying. I enjoyed watching your videos much more than now. It was like go with the flow, spontaneous, more enjoyable watching you opening those amazon boxes, candles, cleaning products. Of course I like also watching luxury, but I think its too much of those granny style dressing for such young and sweet women like you. That doesn´t mean that I will stop watching your videos, just expressing my then and now excitement when new video notification popup. I will not tell you good job, keep doing it, because i don´t like it, and I think its not your cup of tea. It feels like kind of forced.

The new look from Dior it’s more in the 50s, it’s why so see the bigger skirt in the 50s with the tiny waist. The 40s are more straight line in the skirt to save fabric during the war 😉
Christian Dior launched his “new look” in 1947. It caused a huge stir in the fashion world as it was the first time since WW2 that so much fabric had been used as it had been severely rationed up until that point. The Dior dress looks absolutely fabulous! The small polka dots are understated and sophisticated which in my opinion work so well as opposed to the larger pattern of polka dots that are used most often. The structure of the shoulders are outstanding so lovely! The experience my goodness was exceptional! Dior for the win!! Securing the dress in your size whilst shopping is really an outstanding achievement and should be applauded! The only exception to that however is they should have informed you that was occurring instead of casually trying to just keep you there by offering champagne and macaroons….however I would still be very happy and without question return to the Sloan street store as that service is exactly how each designer boutique should serve their customers!! 🙌

Well,Im old enough to remember a little …the black polka dot dress is what my mother wore in the 40’s. I remember wearing a cream Chanel style jacket with black trim in the 60’s. Jackie Kennedy wore a pink chanel suit the day JFK was shot. In the 50’s, the “ new look” was popular. Cinched waist, long full skirts. Felt poodle skirts, bobby socks.

Did you know that Christian Dior was a designer and had his Couture house and line for less than a decade before he passed away at the age of 52?
And here's another bit of fashion history trivia: The famous Dior Bar Suit and Jacket was actually designed in 1947 (76 years ago !) by Pierre Cardin, who was head of the tailoring dept during the first 3 years that Christian Dior opened his flagship store in Paris. Also, in 1955, 19 year-old Yves Saint Laurent began to work for Christian Dior, and Dior had decided that Yves would be his successor.

This whole re-wear / sustainable / I only buy timeless / fashion thing. You keep slipping up love. Why bother putting yourself in a box ? What does it matter whether you want to re-wear a £19.99 Amazon dress multiple times or drop a few thousand $$$ in Hermes or Dior ? You love the status & the champagne experience that comes with the “not so sustainable” shopping. We can all see that. 👀

How crazy are those dior sizes! If I got it right, the polka-dot dress Lydia bought was a size 38 or 36. Now I'm a UK 12, German/ Danish 38, French 40 and Italian 44. Which should make the dior dress a UK10, and im pretty sure Lydia is slimmer than that. Just wish that sizes were more standard, as it's so easy to order the wrong size - shoe sizes are just as crazy.
