Compared to what other Caribbean island? Do you know how large Guyana is. We could lose most of the other Caribbean islands in the 83 thousand square miles. With the oil money wealth they seem to be getting there. It takes time. How updated or progressive is Trinidad & Tobago with all the oil wealth they have had for decades?
It looks great but life can get much better if the roads in many communities are fixed. People have to traverse these roads daily. They may just visit seawalls occasionally.

As a Guyanese born resident abroad I must say I'm impressed. Glad to see that money is being spent to improve & maintain an ionic part of Georgetown. I hope that efforts are also being made to do the same to other distinctive structures, buildings and areas both in Georgetown and other parts of the country. In the city of Georgetown places & buildings such as the Victoria law court former government buildings, St Georges cathedral, Stabroek market , other church buildings come to mind. I last visited Guyana in April 2014 but spent very little time in the city. What little I saw then depressed me. Filthy & crowded streets, decrepit buildings, garbage on the sidewalks and in the trenches. I hope that since then there has been improvements. The rural areas seem to be in much better shape. Newer & more modern houses & structures. I have an urge to re-visit my homeland but have some concerns which I will lay out. Do not take my critique personally, it's just my views based on speaking with friends & family who have recently visited Guyana. It seems as though it is expensive to visit. Adequate & affordable accommodations are hard to find & rates are exorbitant. The question about personal safety is still a huge issue. I have no idea how well run or involved the Guyana Tourist board or body is involved in managing this industry. I was hoping & planning to put together a small group of folks (about 10 to 12) & visit Guyana sometime next year during the first dry season but have difficulty gleaning information from some of the interior resorts that we wish to stay at. Much as we would like to visit & see our homeland, affordability forms a large part of our decision. FYI For US$3K a couple can have a safe, relaxing all inclusive (airfare & all) 7 nights vacation in the Caribbean. I do want to recognize an individual who puts out many videos on Guyana & has a huge following abroad. It's the ARD video clips and I think the gentleman's name is either Denny or Danny Persaud. The Guyana Tourist board & Guyana Govt ought to recognize & honor him. He puts the country on the map. Hats off to you pal.

Wow The Sea Walls was such a nice place to go on Easter Monday to fly our kite nd walk wth our food basket full of goodies to eat nd homemade drinks. Good memories for me will visit coming home in October ❤

Commendations to the government for this improvement. Now let’s move on to projects that really affect the daily existence of our people. Schools, hospitals, markets etc. Also, madam First Lady, Guyana is more than Georgetown or the East Bank/Coast. What has the government done for the boys and girls in other places? Can the next project be some form of social enhancement in Linden? In, Bartica? Mahdia etc. modern classrooms, working hospital theatres. Lift the people and they will lift the environment.

Why all the Asian girls dance together and afro blacks dance on there own.they should have a mix dancers in Asian dance crew and Asian girls in Black dance crew its 1 country they soon start fighting and dividing let the culture's mix and perform together as 1 country peace 1❤ new money new way of thinking.
