140K? You just getting started... 🙂 My 07' Si I bought new in 07' now with 281K I left stock is my daily and my 22' Si gets lonely sitting in the garage a lot...stock clutch lasted until around 233K and Starter until around 250K or so. Alternator is still original. No other issues motor and transmission just solid... The car does burn oil so I check and add as needed. Change it regularly around every 5K since new.
@@real_bukla8s345 that platform is SOLID really... I have my doubts with my 22' Si 11th Gen Si EVER reaching that type of mileage (if at all even possible...) with minimal issues...esp. the Turbo.
I actually learned in the 8th gen forums that people put the rear lower motor mount in the freezer so that it shrinks a little bit so that you have more wiggle room to install it!
Highly under rated mod! I have a 2008 FG2 that tore one of the mounts... It clunked around when shifting hard, or even just stabbing the gas. And I drove on it for a WHILE... So when it finally decided to do a repair, (and I am of the mindset that, if you're going to replace a part, instead of putting the same thing there, put something better!) So I got the whole set of 62A mounts... It felt expensive in that moment, but that all changed once I drove the car. Shifts are crisp and clean. And throttle response is ever so slightly 'sharper'. But what surprised me the most (and something that I wasn't even expecting...) because I got used to the blown mount that would smack around every time I moved from a stop, I didn't realize how it affected the clutch engagment when moving from a stop... However, driving with the new mounts, I instantly noticed that they gave me back a great level of accuracy and clutch feel, resulting smoother and more predictable engagement from a stop. I was amazed at the difference. Not even 15 minutes into my first drive with them, and I no longer had any regrets of spending what I did, these are worth it... Not all mods need to add power to be satisfying. I say the same about my Hybrid shifter... It doesn't add power, but it adds enjoyment.
You took my advice and got a dash cam, good job bro. My accident last year January that almost killed me, if it wasn't for my dash camera, I would've been screwed.
A little tip for anyone who is under 300whp. Just inject your factory mounts with 80A polyurethane. You can get this from the autoparts store as widow cement. Works absolutely amazing, much cheaper, and not as many vibrations. Took away all my wheel hop at the track on a prep surface. Helped me cut a 2.0 60'
@@johnlong9532 there are gaps to fill up. I tapped a peice of cardboard on one side, and injected it until it couldn't take any more. Flipped it over removed the cardboard, and filled up any airbubbles. A little olive oil on your finger tip, and smooth it out to make it look uniform. Give it at least 24hour to cure, 48hours if you can... Then reinstall, makes an absolutely huge difference.
@@SomeOne-on6yf Got it, thank you for the explanation. I’ll be picking up an 06 FG2 this Sunday and it’ll be nice to not have to worry about wheel hop as much, it was pretty noticeable on my 07 I owned previously. Any other tips in regards to wheel hop and having a good launch in general?
@@johnlong9532 yeah this helped tremendously with wheel hop on the track. You virtually get no wheel hop at all after this mod. And feels better than any aftermarket mounts ive tried
I drove an 8th daily for 14 years it was my 2nd car ever my first was a 95gsr when I was 16 busted my ass cleaning tables all Summer for that gsr. 3 years later I sold it to get a new 8th Gen. Mine had 50 miles on it when I drove it home. I put 310k miles on it and had changed those motor mounts twice. 😂 and yes my biggest complaint of this whole generation of Hondas was engine bays were way too freaking small!! From the civic, the fit, crvs, and the RSXs. Baby Engine bays! PS my 8th Gen was still firing up strong when I sold her to get a civic sports hatchback. I hit a deer with her a year ago and totaled her. My current daily is my 2023 Civic Si 😎 hondaboiz for life!
Those hasport mounts are amazing for driving 10/10 and beating on the car. However when cold or idling at light it’s like driving a vibrator on wheels. Helps a lot with wheel hop tho.
I have been daily driving a 4dr 8th gen si for about 2.5 yrs now the cars are such a blast with a 6 speed and k20 that I recently acquired another one with a bad motor and a 9th gen si trans. Things escalated quickly and I bought a 2dr si that had major front end damage but original more and trans that way I could swap everything to make my second one a track car like I’ve all wanted. Now I just need a tow rig 😂
Hey John, if you clean those headlights with wax and grease remover then spray with adhesion promoter, let dry then clear coat those headlights, the scratches will disappear .
Been watching your 8th gen videos for a while. Picked up an exact copy of this car in December and been slowly doing some basic mods to it to be an awesome daily. Got new front door speakers, acuity shifter cable and shifter base bushings, new radio head unit. Need to do wheels and suspension but that gets pretty pricey. Keep up the awesome content!
I ended up going with innovative 75a mounts due to the front mount being included. Vibration is very minimal. It’s a huge difference compared to stock. Shift are much more accurate and the engine doesn’t move at all.
I don't have hasport mounts but I do have innovative mounts with the same stiffness as your hasports on my EM1 which are pretty equal I think. I've had them for 2 yrs now and I love them but like you said the idle and accelerating is where most of the vibration is but overall Im lovin the upgrade.
@@boosted_john 70A but I only did the upper and lower torque mounts, I left those two larger side mounts stock. I figured majority of the engine movement was from torqueing backwards anyway so that helped out with the vibrations, if it gets annoying with your full mounts I'd recommend at least trying that out!
So glad I went with 62a for both rear and upper torque mounts as it's my daily.. Rear mount is best installed with the car 'level', on a hoist lol😅 Jacked up front end only force's engine weight to the rear, hindering install..

I'm on my 2nd 8th gen my 1st si had 75a innovative they were great so I went and installed them on my 2nd si as well and they're great I love them but I can't thinking that maybe I should've tried the hassport to compare
Just a fyi it cant send it to china cause it doesnt have access to the internet when you connect to it via wifi you dont have access to the internet you are just connecting with the dashcam itself similar to how bluetooth works with earbuds unless it has cellular capabilities which werent mentioned but then you would need to pay to use the cellular capability using the normal providers like Verizon or t-mobile.

I’m at 240k with my FA5 and just got new speakers and sub all around and the real only mechanical issues so far were my water pump and cmc and slave 👍
Since I been running royal purple motor oil on my SI, it has drastically reduced oil consumption. Give it a shot.

What exactly do you mean when you say inject? Are the stock mounts hollow and you can literally use a syringe to inject the polyurethane?
