Bobcat running up and down the fence, growling at the hyenas with that much hatred is so ridiculous that it’s so funny
To call it hatred is a form of anthropomorphism. The rivalry between lions and hyenas stems purely from a natural mutual need. When a lion's solo kill is taken by hyenas or when lions take from hyenas, there's no hatred. They see each other as threats to their survival. Hatred is a human quality. The closest thing to hatred in the animal kingdom is revenge, among chimps. Animals are sentient and get angry, but it's not born of hatred.
I think Gabby was doing a lot of the growling.
@@NxDoyle Call it a strong miss trust then and sorry but animals to have feelings and that has been discovered. Needs are human like also.
Miss-trust, strong dislike might serve the same purpose really. What do you think? Revenge can be called hate or dislike or mistrust too. Animals when they see something of a threat, don't they try to run the danger off? I guess it all depends on what you think hatred is. Strong dislike or mistrust probably would be included. I watched a animal show one time of a animal that killed for no reason but I've forgotten what it was.

I know it cost a lot of money when she ate three tires, but it was so FASCINATING for us to see how quickly she dispatched with the tires. And it was just a game for her.
Have you watched any of the early videos? They used to have old tires to play with when they were young. Wonder if Gabby's fixation with them could be because of that.

I love getting to see Gandoph’s group and Suja and Bongani since we see them less. A nice treat. Also what a face on Bobcat with those hyenas. He is such a character!

Agree. Complex animals but intelligent and reasonable when approached by a respected friend. All of these predators behaved per the laws of their environment which is sadly disappearing.

They’ve tried before....she would probably kill another lioness or lion.
@@evydarling Because adult lions have a harder time forming new bonds with other lions. It's easier when they are cubs but they are less inclined to get along with another when they are older. I think she is fine with being alone so best not to force it.
Emperor, that's difficult for adult Lions to try to pair them with other Lions as they usually are not accepting of others. I know back some months ago, Kevin had Meg with other Lions next to her in another enclosure and that provided her with some companionship. I still miss Amy. I was very attached to her.

@@chlorineismyperfume I have said before, Bobcat is my spirit animal (if ever there was such a thing) but that Gabby would come a close second. I think they paired 2 very complimentary cats with one another in this union. They are two peas of the same pod really. And I love them.
Bobcat and Gabby are brother and sister this is why they are paired together. Not sure if you knew that or not but, I see lots of comments about these two being coupled, well they can't breed because Kevin has Gabby NOW fixed but, before she was on contraception. You don't want brother and sister breeding. I believe if I am not mistaken Kevin had mentioned their age difference and Bobcat is 6 months older. There was before my time here...another sibling male Bandit never knew that until Kevin mentioned it recently. Not sure if he passed here at the sanctuary or before Kevin's time taking ownership of the lions, Hyena's, and Panthers.
@@foxyandlucy6392 Did you know Bobcat and Gabby are siblings? Bobcat is about six months older. Bobcat had a twin brother Bandit who unfortunately died.
@@reneetibbetts4813 there's really grainy documentary footage that Kevin did years ago on CZcams. There's a young Bandit, Bobcat, and Gabby... She was the bold feisty queen then too 💓

Watched the Bobcat and Gabby part a couple of times, it put big a smile on my face. I loved seeing him and Gabby running back and forth up and down the fence. This is the first time I have seen Kevin and am just amazed at how he is with these lions. They are wild animals yet they trust him and their relationship is lovely to see. What a treat.

Loved this, moving days are so much fun and so interesting because I feel like we get to see more of their personalities. Poor Suji getting spooked by the gate - it happens 🙈 and we can't blame Bongani for getting bored in there! Bobcat when he sees hyenas is actually hilarious, and even Gabs joins in.
