Greer was also playing through bursitis. Furthermore, they had lost two others from their bench earlier in the season. Despite being banged up, undermanned, and shooting poorly, it's remarkable they only lost a game seven by four points

    The 68 eastern conference finals were a strange one .Dr king had just been assassinated. This deeply effected a lot of the players on both teams in that series.They actually had a meeting to decide if it was the right thing to play . .I think a lot of the Philly players were utterly deflated and that effected there play .Boston as well but they just hit more shots .

    Thank you so much for mentioning how weak it was for the Warriors to go to Hamptons and beg KD to join them after a 73 win season and minutes away from back to back titles , I hate how nobody ever gives Steph , Klay, and Dray crap for that !       But hey atleast they proved now that they can win without building a superteam after the 2022 Finals 😁 they rebuilt their team 2 years from scratch using young players after their Finals loss against Raptors and that in my opinion is one of the greatest legit comebacks in history 👍

    Bird had a ton of injuries in that post season. Could only play 6 games the season after. Injuries are the biggest reason for his numbers going down in the post season most of his career. I would have went with his 1982 playoffs. His numbers took a dip while being completely healthy, as far as I know.

He had to get multiple surgeries after this series. He could only play 6 games the season after. The man wasn't in basketball shape at the time and shouldn't have even been playing that series. I didn't mention that he was playing against the bad boy Pistons who would intentionally try to hurt teams best players every chance they get.

      That’s because Bird played like a dumbass diving to save the ball, battling for rebounds when his teammate clearly was getting it, trying to score in the paint when it was not necessary at times.
      He really abused his body. So he was broke by the post season smart players don’t do that. Derrick Rose even says the way he played before his injury was inefficient and unnecessary

    Nobody likes to mention the fact that Don Nelson, who had been the coach of the Mavs for Dirk’s whole career up until two seasons prior, was coaching the Warriors that season. He knew Dirk inside and out, and if anyone should have been able to shut Dirk down, it was him. Plus the Warriors gave the Mavs all sorts of trouble in the regular season. I remember having a gross feeling when they made the playoffs
    Still a choke, but probably one of the least surprising to me at the time. They also almost gakked up a 3-0 lead to the Blazers once, don’t remember what year

      I'm not sure if Ibaka leaving influenced KD's decision to leave OKC but KD and Westbrook were literally just entering their peak.
      Adams was still growing and he had a significant improvement from 2016 to 2017.
      All they were missing was a great shooter who could hold his own on defense and play hard.
      Looking back I wish KD had stayed.
      He and Westbrook only played three healthy post seasons in their prime together even though they were together for almost a decade.
