I agree. Also, if I might add respectfully, I think Andrew should add to clarify: their shouldn't be apathy when one's safety and the safety of one's children are threatened? We must have the right (and God given instruction even) to protect ourselves. There might be confusion here that leads to numbness.
Thanks for your feedback - assuming that by ‘protect ourselves’ you mean the responsibility of Christians to fight for their religious freedoms or that parents have a responsibility to fight for the safety of their children from indoctrination or physical harm? In a democracy, we have recourse to certain actions we can do to bring about change, and we can make use of some of these avenues if God calls upon us to do so. But what is important to remember is that if we react in fear and treat people as our enemies, we won’t represent Christ well because we were all at one time God’s enemies and yet He died to save us.
